In case anyone is curious , the Robot Warriors PDF was a new layout by Ben Seeman after DOJ bought Hero Games. The only parts of it that are direct scans are the character and robot sheets, and the two sample pages of hex paper. It does not, however, include a front or back cover. Edit to add: I found a PDF version of the robot sheet that I remade and uploaded here.

Duke, watching that first video with your "helpers" is like watching an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000! I was laughing out loud for the better part of thirty minutes! Thanks for the review(s), and for reminding us what we should be expecting when we pay money for a product. Big Jack, I have many of the POD books for 6e because I was out of gaming for several decades and missed getting all the books in their original form. I am very impressed with the quality of the books I got (the Equipment Guide, Skills, Grimoire, and all sorts of others). They don't suffer from the s

  6. It isn't my fault that the gods left perfectly good crumbs of divinity around. Divine nectar, godly ambrosia, deity snacks, call it what you will. And yes, yes, some of it may have been guarded, but clearly not well enough. Besides, this godhood idea seemed to lead to regular meals, and admiration and getting away with a lot. Good enough for me! I told one god the other god was plotting against them, and when they went to check, I sniffed about for what they might have forgotten, made sure it wasn't bad for me, and gulped it down before trying the same trick on another. So I might have s

  7. Well, the ones who aren't actually broken by hard times, do tend to become stronger. I've learned something important about "strength" over my lifetime, though; it isn't a blanket feature. It comes in different varieties depending on the person. Folks may be able to endure particular harsh conditions, but be far more vulnerable to others. And everyone is vulnerable somewhere. Put enough pressure on that spot, and even the toughest person will crack.

Mine wasn’t as awful as I’d heard. The prep was unpleasant but I just stocked up on TP, baby wipes, magazines and a Tom Clancy novel. Those things are the size of a brick. The procedure itself was like being at a college party. Somebody I didn’t know gave me a pill to swallow. I felt sleepy and while I was out cold I was violated and filmed.

POD for anything 6e and even 5e should be fine, at least as far as the interior goes: they will be printed from original PDF documents, which scale well and have precise mathematically-defined edges to stay crisp and clear-and of course, no one includes artifacts in the brand new document. The only potential problem with POD for a modern book is poorly-formatted artwork. JPG / jpeg are very old, very loss-heavy formats that people just won't get away from, but they will wreck your project. Fortunately, if you want to print a 6e book, there is nothing remotely approaching

  18. Shape Of The World: Liminus set out to shape the world and set its boundaries. He formed it thusly: a helix within a well, open in the middle. The span of the helix he set at a thousand miles, while the breadth of the well was ten thousand miles. Each turn of the helix was separated from the others by three hundred miles. No-one has seen the top of the well, nor the bottom; or, no-one who has seen them has returned to tell.

  19. At lower levels (we are now 4th) they have seemed incredibly tough - to the point where the fighting types (including two paladins and two fighters) seem to pale by comparison. This particular player has played more 5E than us and says that "later on, after about 6th, I am outclassed by fighters of a similar level". This just seems like shoddy design to us. To design a broken killing machine early doors only to have it fade out if and when the party survive to mid levels? We would undoubtedly be dead on more than one occasion if it were not for the Bear/Spider WildShapes. and not f

  20. I remembered another example of an altered post-apocalyptic world, a fairly obscure early short story by Poul Anderson, "Swordsman of Lost Terra." It was set on an Earth which, according to millennia-old legend, had achieved advanced technology before a rogue planet passed close enough for its gravity to completely halt the Earth's rotation. Obviously this caused immense earthquakes and related phenomena which wiped out most life-forms on the planet. The few surviving humans were cast back to a primitive level. With planetary motion halted one side of the globe always faced the sun -- the Day

Of course. I don't mean to imply that times aren't difficult, that people aren't suffering, and there's no reason to be concerned. All those things are real. But more and more people talk about a continuing shutdown of our economy like it means the end of our civilization. The Spanish 'Flu didn't end civilization, nor did the Black Death, nor the Great Depression, nor two world wars. This isn't an Ice Age, or a global nuclear war, or an asteroid impact. I don't want to sound disrespectful, but likening what's happening now to an apocalypse seems like the view of societies which, as a whole, ha

  26. If you look at, for instance, Marvel Comics, and their main superhero lines, their Conan lines, their Star Wars, and GI Joe/Transformers lines... think about sitting down to play in a Conan-based game and having an insistence that because Marvel had a Conan comic that we're playing in the Marvel Universe. I wouldn't be able to get that out of my head, and would probably give up on the game, even if this theoretical version of me had thoroughly enjoyed Marvel's Conan comics. Or sitting down to play in a modern military adventure game and have superheroes be part of the universe, no matter how

Keep in mind it's also about concentration. I did some pretty idiotic things at the start of this mess, and when I was sick. Not taking off my shoes after coming back from the hospital was just one of the stupid things I did.

I must say...I don't appreciate the insinuation that people who want more localized manufacturing are parochial xenophobes. While it is possible some people (especially during recent times) have adopted this desire because someone more powerful with nationalist agendas manipulated them into buying the hog (for the powerful one's benefit, natch), I've been hearing this discussion for decades now and from people across the political spectrum. Also, his last comment about government reveals an attitude which is endemic to the United States of America; it is one very much born out of living here f

And is there really any such thing as Cold? Or is there only an absence of Heat? Well, at least in this world, Cold is a real thing, and its Lord and Master is Kylvn.

You don't have to be a conspiracy nut to think that China is extremely dangerous and uses their influence in ways we should not be comfortable with. Whether this is an escaped lab experiment, or just a natural disease that came out of their wet markets, I think it's safe to say that they are cutting a lot of corners when it comes to health and safety. Personally I think this is a good time for the United States to re-evaluate our relationship with China. Allegedly some of their officials made comments about "we might not be able to export antibiotics to other countries" in a very

Let me preface with this: I'm still not really up to this (things have been really, _really_ rough at work: we're running a skeleton crew because of the shelter-thing, and we had a major setback, and it's going to take nothing shy of herculean effort to get back on track, and dammit, I'm _old_.
