  4. Washington, of course, has scads of 'em. I expect that Republican zealots *will* try interfering with mail-in ballots as Archer has described. Maybe even trying to rip out and destroy drop boxes in Dem-friendly regions. But I also expect attempts to thwart in-person voting, such as groups of armed men outside polling places demanding to see voter registration cards (according to a recent newspaper article, the law against this sort of blatant voter intimidation was repealed). I have also heard the suggestion that Putin may try interfering by blacking out cities on Election Day, so

  8. One thing I'd like to see in the current CU is a cyberneticist/bionicist supervillain. The setting has a bunch of criminal geneticists -- Teleios, Dr. Moreau, the Overbrain, King Cobra, Fenris, Hornet -- but no scientist whose specialty is bionic enhancement. ARGENT does that kind of work, and even Moreau has dabbled in it, but there are no active villains dedicated to that motif. That would offer great potential for both villain and hero origins. 4E had Doc Digital and his Cy-Force; Heinous and Despite of Cyborgs Inc.; not to mention the never-revealed Dr. Samuel Levy and his cyborg panthers.

When I watch that Skin of Evil episode, I inevitably think about the episode of Friends when Joey was written out of the Days of Our Lives soap opera because he falsely claimed in an interview that he ad-libbed most of his lines, which ticked off the writers of the soap opera. The writers killed off his character by having him fall down an elevator shaft.

  20. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but villains based on hip culture seems to be popular in teen based hero groups. I'm not too up on modern teen hip culture, but how about Social Medium, a magic using villain who uses social media platforms to control the minds of victims.

  21. Live and Let Die is very problematic. The Fleming novel is very racist, and the movie only mildly less so. There are jokes about "Whiteface in Harlem", New Orleans funeral parades which gain corpses mid-march, and so on. The worst part is that it played into the stereotype of the corrupt African/Carribean dictator and made it look like that was the defalut whenever black people are put in charge of a country. The racist sherrif in the boat chase was portrayed as a buffoon, but he wasn't really funny. The Man with the Golden Gun, on the other hand, is comedy gold. It was written to

  22. I think it was on the Rachel Maddow Show this week, but one of the states was changing their rules only one of those kinds of drop boxes per county: outside the county board of elections. I'm wanting to say it was Ohio, but I couldn't swear to that. If those kinds of ballot drop boxes were everywhere to the point that very few people would see the need to actually use the US Postal Service, that would solve most of my concerns in having nationwide elections which were 100% mail-in ballots. Edit: Didn't find that clip from the Rachel Maddow Sho

Looked like pretty normal push/shove under the basket on a rebound; player on the Bucks takes offense, pushes one of the Magic. Of course this leads to Yo Mama hissyfits...and the Magic player tries to throw a punch before they can be separated. The ridiculous aspect was Stan Van Gundy's whiny "I hate seeing players ejected" and "this is disproportionate" BS, as both players got tossed. (This meant the Magic are down thei

  26. Mail-in ballots don't have to go through USPS. There is always a direct drop-off location. When I lived in Oregon, I often used them because I was a cheapskate and didn't want to pay postage. Anyway, they look a lot like post boxes. Just pop in your ballot. If you are registered to vote in the US election, just ask your local election office where yours is.

  34. I just have to disagree here. While role play is very important, but I am loathe to step on a players intent for their character, unless the character is unbalancing. If they want a chance to play Sherlock Holmes, and don’t have any deductive skills, I’m fine with that and I do not see Roll Play and Role Play as mutually exclusive. As a GM, I see my job as entertaining my players with a problem for the evening. Having good role players adds to my entertainment, but not all my friends can do it well. They are still my friends. The thing is,?one has to treat each player as an individual, and pla

  35. Actually that’s not entirely true. Introversion, spectrum, and social anxiety may limit amplayer’s desire to talk. If the player is not disruptive and otherwise engaged with the game, I am not going to make them uncomfortable. Sure I will ask them questions, but role play can put a player into a vulnerable and potentially embarrassing situation, and a few players will clam up under pressure. I haven’t had a lot of these players, but I have had a few, and rolling their skills, especially social skills is allowed.
