And I want to go back to the office without risk of getting a life threatening illness; I want my daughter to grow up in a world that doesn’t involve fascism. I want a leader who isn’t bull horning for racism, and who at least at the basic level, can get through 5 sentences without lying. I want a pony. The options are what they are. I get it. But. This is the system. These are the current rules. We have to play by those rules and we have to play to win. The only way to achieve that, currently, again, from a non-Trump point of view, is to vote Biden/Harris or, preferab6 points -

Don't romanticize them. That's a pop-culture image they themselves like to spread, but ultimately their behavior is governed by greed and fear, like Trump. Absolutely. The biggest takeaway from Trump's leaked taxes isn't that he paid so little. He paid so little because his businesses have been bleeding money for years. Trump is heavily in debt, as in hundreds of millions of dollars in loans. Not only does this highlight his failure as a businessman, it makes him extremely vulnerable to outside coercion. And most of those loans are coming due in the next few years. If he'4 points -

Here’s where I potentially veer into trouble, but I’ll make it plain: Any vote that is not for Biden, is a vote for Trump, mathematically speaking. It’s not enough to want to vote Trump out, nor is it sufficient to vote for an alternative, non major party (i.e., Democrat). Your vote is part of the group vote that determines how your State votes and pushes the electoral college. I am not telling you how to vote; I am telling you how you should vote if you want Trump out of office. Because we are in a democratic republic, and not a democracy, your best tactical option, regardless of4 points -

Do you limit Combat Skill Level's?

It is absolutely necessary to set combat limits. Here is what I have done in my campaign. High level explanation Brink/Tank type fighters Characteristics: High strength, constitution, Body, Stun & PD/ED Martial Arts: Maybe CSL : No more than 4. Can buy up to 4 overall combat levels PSL: No more than 3 PSL Nimble type fighters (including archers) Characteristics: Lower strength, constitution, Body, Stun & PD/ED Martial Arts: Almost certainly CSL : No more than 6. No apology needed. You didn’t do this. That was my point. I’m just tired of living a nightmare and not sleeping because I’m raising my daughter in the United States. We need better and we should be doing better, and yet “things” keep holding us back. All the posts I’m writing are heavily edited, partially to prove to myself I can do it, and largely because I know screaming about it won’t get me anywhere. SO. I appreciate the thought, and for the record, I accept your apology in the way it was intended, but no need.3 points -
I predict that if Trump doesn't become symptomatic, he will portray this as bad as it gets, and what are folks whining about? If it does, well, he's got some of the best medical care the US Govt can afford on standby... and will probably try to make sure that even if he gets near to death he'll act like it was no big deal. He lies about everything anyway, and wants to be seen as 'strong' so yeah, he'll bull@#@ his way through this. And spread misinformation galore anew, this time convincing trumpkins 'See, it was over hyped those who died were wimps or something'3 points

That's not disillusion. This is disillusion: What if he doesn't actually have covid, but needs an excuse to get out of the next two debates without looking like a coward? There's almost no way he makes the 10/15 debate now, and an extra safe three week quarantine would get him past the 10/22 debate. Then he magically reemerges on 10/23, hale and hearty (ischemic tremor notwithstanding), inspiring his fans just in time to go to the polls. Anyway, tinfoil hat off. Get that man some hydroxychloroquine, stat!3 points

Yes, you do need to limit CSLs to keep within campaign boundaries, otherwise you end up in an arms race. I don't have my books in front of me, but in 6th Edition I believe CSLs will only affect ranged DCV when they are 8-point or better in cost. It is my understanding that martial arts DCV bonuses other than for Dodge don't increase DCV either. Archers should be able to pincushion your PCs. Here are two suggestions for keeping things under control: 1) Have them buy OCV/DCV that is for either HTH Only or Ranged Only. This is a -1 Limitation, so they get +2 OCV or +2 DCV for fiv2 points

I disagree, your math is off; it’s not whether they voted 3rd party, it’s the system. In other words, if all the people who voted 3rd party instead voted democrat, then the State could potentially flip. This bears out my assertion, that in this environment, because it is first past the post, step one is breaking through that. Step two is changing the mechanics of voting. Because the State was split, it voted red. We can agree to disagree but I’m not convinced by your argument, I see it as reinforcement of my point.2 points -

That’s a fair point, there has been so much noise and it’s deafening, drowning out most positivity and hope. It really does a disservice to the whole process and pollutes the discourse. To be honest, there may not be a reconciliation between the “sides” but I also don’t believe that there needs to be one. Based on the actions and the ideas that I’m seeing there’s a group of people who believe that the function of government is primarily the protection of property, and another group who believe that the goal should be the common interest. Simply put, we need both to function as a society and re2 points -

My wednesday paper had a pair of AP analysis articles on this. One headline said, "Trump can handle $300 million debt, experts say." "According to Forbes' latest valuation, even pandemic-reduced prices leave Trump with $2.5 billion worth of proerties and other assets, and that s after subtracting his $1.2 billion in deby." He can sell his interest in a couple properties and get $500 million, easy-peasy. As for his low taxes and claimed losses, that's just high-end real estate SOP. One of Steve Long's mantras as the Hero Line Developer was, "You bought the book, it's your game now." I appreciate that he always peppered the rules and FAQ answers with, "The GM can rule to allow this if it makes sense for their game." Mind you, he's not above saying, "You shouldn't do X," but that's very rare and almost always conditional.1 point -

This should allow Biden to take a higher ground. If the people trying to set up the debate suggest rules changes, figure Biden will aprrove. If Trump rejects, Biden can pull out. Sure, Trump will say it's out of fear, but Biden can also say Trump refuses to debate. Seems a wash. But that's the way this entire campaign season has been. Pointless. SCREAMING. CONSTANT. Since there were so few primaries, everyone and their cousin has all their money to blow in the very narrow time window. I can't *begin* to describe how nauseated I am by both sides...yeah, both. And then there was a TPK! The party had done a fine job of endearing themselves and decided to help the city. There was a Necromancer who was controlling the Necropolis. They entered and he let them in. The Necromancer had 1000 skeletons and 8 vampires. He told them he only wanted a staff from the vaults of the Knight's of Pale and he would leave. They relayed this message to the leadership of the city and through some persuasion they agreed to give him the staff and he would leave. They asked the party to deliver it as they had no experience dealing with these situations.1 point -

I sort of feel the whole House Rules vs. Official Rules debate is an odd one to hold in the context of the Hero System. Take, for instance, the Limited Power Limitation. You must come up with what you feel is a reasonable value for your custom Limitation yourself. One group may give "Only In Salt Water" a -1/2 while another group may give it a -1/4, and yet another group--the one where the campaign exists mostly in an arid desert--a whopping -1. The rulebook doesn't tell you what that Limitation is worth; you must "House Rules" it based on your own interpretation of how Limitations work and on1 point -

Smaller. they get smaller from year to year. Not just measurably, but _visibly_. Fortunately for bicyclists, there's a considerable amount of "narrower" involved in that. When I bought the Leviathan, I had been driving a truck that had three full "butt sculpts" in the bench seats. The Leviathan has two, and a half-one between them. The last time I went truck shopping (I try to replace my truck every twenty years, wether it needs it or not ), a "full-sized" truck had exactly two butt sculpts and just barely enough room to fold an arm rest between them.1 point -

It's been a fun campaign so far. Currently the crew is taking a Dungeon Crawl break from the mass setting absorption in the classic In Search of the Unknown. I believe it's the first adventure published by TSR for Dungeons and Dragons. It's so old nobody at my table (besides me) knew what it was. I slightly predate D&D, electricity, pyramids, fire and other modern novelties... One other aspect of the setting that was a big change from convention is that there are no known Gods. Almost everyone worships The Light and fears The Dark. Much smaller numbers of1 point -
