  1. Seriously wrong tense there. It *should be* over. barring the challenges. Point of irony here: if cases end up at the Supreme Court and Trump still loses, it's his own packed court. But I'm not going to say it's over until Biden takes the oath of office. I am perfectly content to be called paranoid, but it's not a done deal until then. And Trump still holds the position; he's got, what, 70-odd days to throw a tantrum. He took the chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission away earlier this week, for promoting wind and solar, and gave it to a different member. H

  4. One gripe I hear from those who have their own small businesses is about the ACA and how they can't keep up covering their employees, and how it's like a second job etc etc. I think if you promoted it to them as "How would you like it your employees health care was NOT your problem? how would you like it if you didn't lose great employees because you couldn't get the same great health insurance deals the big boys offer? " A lot of small business men would get on board. Enlightened Self Interest is a powerful marketing tool. As for Defund the Police? yeah, that one has b

  5. The Dems really don't get it. They put up the most moderate, nay right-of-center, candidate they could. They still lost, compared to what they expected to win. Being Republicans with a paint job isn't going to cut it. They need a vision, and they need to sell it to get the public excited. It doesn't matter whether or not they talk about more leftist policies, because the Republicans will accuse them of being socialists without any evidence anyway. But all polls show that the majority of Americans want a government health care option. They want more support for the middle class and small busine

  6. As I literally said a day or two ago, people are forgetting that Trump had four years to open any kind of commission or investigation he wanted to in our election process. He refused to do so. He didn't care to do so. His entire administration he's been making up outrageous claims, from Ted Cruz's father being the assassin of JFK, to Fox News treating him unfairly in very basic interviews. It's not as though there might not be election shenanigans, it's whether those shenanigans are significant. The point, as we've said for over a month, isn't to try and demonstrate or improve

  9. The strategy the Democrats have been following has not been translating to winning, not in any meaningful sense. I can see the pragmatism in backing off for those two races. But that's just for this coming January, and that might, might, translate to just barely squeeking by with the thinnest, most fragile "control" of the Senate imaginable. That won't give the Dems the freedom to enact the legislation to deal with the pressing problems America faces. Agreed, if they use the same provocative, misleading labels the Republicans have, they're not going

  10. This is disappointing, but hardly surprising. Biden is Republican-lite at best, but the hysterical right wing fear machine painted him as an antifa socialist anyway. And these guys continue to allow the Republicans to define the Overton window and frame the debate. It's unreal. "Socialism", my ass. A less exploitative minimum wage, and healthcare that isn't subject to the whims of my employer, are not socialism. Wake me up when people start talking about seizing the means of production and giving control of distribution over to the collective. Defunding the police

  11. My 3 month doctor visit was today. Blood pressure was 110/70, which is one of the best readings that I've ever had. The fancy scale that calculates fat and muscle mass shows me down 12 pounds since last time, and it calculated that 10 pounds of that was fat mass lost. My doctor will text me sometime next week with the results of my A1C test, which he expects to come in below 6.

  22. Custom Modifier is your friend. It comes in very handy from time to time. I defined a High Scale movement advantage that's principally for Running and Flight, because MegaScale is too much IMO for the continuous movement powers. From APG, there's Damage-Based END cost that I also like a lot. There is a fair bit of stuff in APG not included in HD, but it can generally be included via one of the Customs. Defensive Attack's a nice one for a Multiple Attack specialist; it's got to be a custom skill.

  24. "the people have voted" Trump in a panic "And?" "The votes are being COUNTED? how can we have a democracy if ALL the votes are counted?!" "Is the adderall wearing off?" ***** Well, military votes have to be counted and while it may have changed a lot , in my experience the bulk of the Armed Forces tend to vote conservative. Then again, if they think on how Trump did zero about Russia putting a bounty on their heads and the fact he trashed some honored alum... maybe not.

When the Hero switched to a new host and software a few years ago, some of us pulled material from the old site and uploaded it here so it wouldn't be lost. That is probably one of them. I can't remember what all was moved.
