  1. Let's start with the basics: under 6E, Growth is not a level-based Power (i.e. it's not purchased as +X for every Y points) -- it has discrete increments defined. Density Increase, on the other hand, remains a level-based Power. That is the reason for the difference in how they act relative to automatically adding to Characteristics. That said, what you're doing is incorrect and not in accordance with the rules of the system. Density Increase is meant for characters that can change their density. Characters that are always dense simply purchase the relevant bonuses (and take the relevant Complications). Similarly, Growth is meant for characters that can change their size -- characters that are just big (always) purchase the relevant bonuses and take the relevant Complications to reflect their size.
  2. Vehicles have DEF, not individual PD and ED -- purchase a Reinforced Cockpit just like any sectional/reduced coverage DEF. Tires are built pretty much the way they are presented in TUV -- buy the associated Powers/Talents, assign any relevant Modifiers, and you have your build.
  3. Abilities in APG I & II are not part of HERO System cannon. They generally fall into two categories: 1. Abilities that are specialized builds of existing Powers. These can be modeled in HD the same as any other ability -- write them up the same way they are presented in the book (purchasing the standard base Power, assigning Modifiers, etc.). Often you'll need to use a Custom Modifier, but that's kind of the nature of the APG. 2. Abilities that have no equivalent base Power in HERO System. These are rare, but they do come up. You'd need to create a custom rules template in HD to model these (the rules templates are where HD gets the definition/setup of all abilities).
  4. Dude...you really need to calm down. 1. Hero Games did not quash or discourage 5th Edition. The export formats are created by users, the site simply hosts them. 2. The difference between a 6E export and a 5E export is pretty much just the Characteristics section...and only a few of them at that. That's it. It's about 5 minutes of work for someone to convert a 6E export format over to 5E. If you were a bit nicer and FAR less antagonistic in your approach, you might have been able to take advantage of that...but I suspect that that ship has sailed at this point. You're going to want to learn the "massively complex" markup required to edit the exports on your own, should you choose to go that route. Now, I would stongly suggest (as an admin of these forums) that you change your tone. I'm being nice and not punting you from the site, but this is the only warning you're going to get.
  5. Perhaps it's time to point out that some are painting with an overly wide brush and running afoul of the rules of this thread (and forum) - Greywind, looking at you (others as well, but you've been particularly egregious). I'm making this a public warning -- if there's need for additional action, it will be private...and more severe than many would want. This is not your pulpit.
  6. I will be closing this thread after this post. Regarding mental issues: the goal is to treat everyone equally, NOT to treat people as special or otherwise. Your story is suspect, to say the least. Multiple parts do not add up. You have a gibberish account name with a likely invalid email address (possibly a one-time use email...more or less the same thing). You failed to keep backups of your purchases, but managed to keep backups of all your "receipts". You forgot what email address you associated with the account or no longer have access to it. You forgot your login information. You offered on multiple occasions to send an email "from" the address if we gave it to you...apparently trusting that we would not know that anyone can send an email from any address they choose (that's just how email works). If I had to guess, the account in question was used as a shared distribution point (read: theft) and has been locked. I will be making recommendations to Jason accordingly.
  7. Sure - send a support request or contact to Jason.
  8. I’ll send an email to the address on record (the current one). It’ll be from bill.gates@microsoft.com The from address on an email is meaningless. You did not keep backups of your purchases, you don’t know your login information, and you either don’t know or no longer have access to your email. You have lost access to your account.
  9. You don't need to provide all the proof in the world that the account is yours. You need one of the following: To know your login information (username/password) To know and have access to the email address that you associated with the account
  10. The policy is for everyone's protection. You chose to use either a false or a one-time email address on the site. You also chose to use a gibberish username...and, presumably, a random password that you did not record. Your choices. You did everything you could to prevent yourself from accessing your account again.
  11. No. If you don't know the password for the account and don't know (or have access to) the email for the account, then you will not be able to regain access to it - you blocked yourself when you changed the username and email to gibberish.
  12. Reading is a good start -- that is only the first part of the email address. You'll need to know the rest of it (I cropped it slightly past the halfway point).
  13. Your username went through several changes before ending up there. The email address associated with the account begins with 4vv54bg54e5ggey. If that's not enough to identify the email account that you used, then you may have obfuscated yourself out of an account. If you can determine the email address that you used based on the above, then use the site's forgot password function to recover your password. If you cannot (or no longer have access to that email), then the account is lost and your access to it cannot be restored.
  14. You chose a username of 3uu8dh39sjhwhw? If you can't remember your login information and no longer have access to your email account (which was a gmail address "obfuscated" similar to your username), you're not going to be able to access the account again. Again, maintaining proper backups/copies of your purchases is something that is strongly recommended (regardless of site).
  15. If you're talking about an account that you haven't accessed since 2013, then it's gone - the site software was changed in 2013 and only forum accounts were transferrable. As always, it is highly recommended that you maintain your own backups of any purchased software/downloads (regardless of site).
  16. As stated in the installation instructions: install to a directory that you have full access to. Even as an administrator on the system, Windows UAC will block you from writing to certain directories (C:\Program Files among them). Try your desktop, documents directory, or home directory.
  17. About 1-3 seconds. Longer (blocking on that) likely means that you're trying to run from a directory that you do not have full access to -- HD is waiting for directories/files to be created and the system is not allowing it.
  18. I believe the code is still owned by the original author (as I've seen nothing donating it to open source), with the IP owned by DOJ.
  19. The MATH container is going to use the HERO System rounding rules (don't get me started...) and output whole numbers only. You'll need to look to use scripting internal to your export (e.g. JavaScript in an HTML export) to sum and display values with 2 decimal places.
  20. Three containers/tags that should help: <!--TOTAL_CARRIED--> - gives the total weight of carried items <!--IF_CARRIED--> ... <!--/IF_CARRIED--> - container that will only have contents included if the item is carried <!--IF_NOT_CARRIED--> ... <!--/IF_NOT_CARRIED--> - container that will only have contents included if the item is not carried
  21. 1. Ensure you have admin access on your system before performing administrative tasks like changing file associations. 2. As mentioned earlier, Google "jarfix" - the first result will point to a download that you can run to correct the file associations on your system.
  22. Either do the "math" for doubling the purchased amount in your head during gameplay or edit the Power writeup in HD.
  23. You shouldn't need to modify the jar file itself (that would make applying updates...difficult). You're just looking at an extension template. If you want to get really tricky and modify the rules followed by the builtin templates, there's some fun you can have with HD's class path -- put the template to override in the same directory as HD6.jar (with the same name as it has in the jar file itself) and it should be found first in the class path search. Just make sure you do that for something like Superheroic6E.hdt, and not Main6E.hdt - you want any updates to the base templates to take effect when you update HD6.jar.
  24. You'd need to create a custom template to do it "officially". Model the template definition off of Density Increase and you should have most of the tags/attributes that you need for the ability, though it'll still be slightly kludgy when approaching the 40 point limit.
