You would have to specify which Blast you're targeting.  See 6e1 p. 135 for more information.

Your associate is correct - so long as the requirements for maintaining Set are met (as noted in the rules you cite) the character can maintain the bonus without spending another full phase to establish the Set. If they wish to continue to receive the bonus from Brace, they must continue to meet the requirements for that as well (1/2 DCV, etc.).

Apart from GM restrictions, the rules allow for multiple instances of Unified Power (multiple sets of Powers, minimum of 2 in each set).

Metal skin is significantly easier to hide than chitinous armor.  It also does not pose as many penalties to Stealth and other rolls.

Apply similar logic to others and you'll start to see the rationale.

A note that likely won’t help OP: you can adjust the font size in HD, you just need to do it at the command line (since Windows is a bit of a pain with passing along font scaling info to Java).

    java -jar HD6.jar [font size]

e.g.  “java -jar HD6.jar 18” will set an 18 pt font size throughout

Most likely you have HD set to remember window positions and sizes (the default) and have changed screen configurations at some point so dialogs are being placed off screen.

Delete appPrefs.xml and the start HD and everything should be reset.

Note: you'll want to balance the Basic Info tab: add the Experience in, reduce the Matching Complications, and then (on the Complications tab) remove the Complication(s) that you've bought off.

Simon got a reaction from Kamarathin in Adding Custom Languages to the Core Languages
You can pull slightly dated versions from the Downloads section of this site or go the direct route and pull them out of the main HD6.jar file (it will open with any compression software -- WinZip, WinRAR, etc.)

Simon got a reaction from Kamarathin in Adding Custom Languages to the Core Languages
When you define an existing element in a rules template, you're overwriting the built-in definition. If you want to keep the built-in definition and add to it (as in your case), you need to copy the built-in definition into your extension template and use that as your starting point.  That's going to be a LARGE copy/paste for Languages, but should be a one time thing and let you add to existing languages and modify the language familiarity chart accordingly.

Would it benefit HERO if some company (for whatever reason) decided to spend a significant amount of money and time creating a game which promoted the system (based on HERO mechanics, IP, or whatever)?  Certainly.  But the lack of business acumen on display by some in this thread is worrying.

Let's remove the IP rights from consideration -- assume that they're yours. You've managed to get a moment with one of the higher ups at a major development studio (e.g. Blizzard).  Give us your elevator pitch.  Why should they have any interest in purchasing the IP for Champions vs. going with a well-known commodity like Marvel or DC...or writing their own?

That doesn't mean that HERO System's IP is worthless, it's just not worth anything meaningful to the CRPG or MMORPG industries -- there's not enough cross-over from the already small section of the TTRPG market that HERO occupies to make any such consideration make sense.

So the sales pitch is that the company should pay for relatively unknown IP so that their artists/creatives can be constrained in what they do best...rather than letting those same creatives save them time and money by simply creating their own world/characters (and the art to go along with)?

Why would a company pay for a "relatively unknown" IP when they could just create their own (as was done in the very examples you cite)?  What's the sell?

I suspect your order of operations is off a bit - it makes little to no sense to outlay the funds required to buy back the Champions IP and then hope that another offer comes along to purchase said IP at a higher price.

If there is interest in building a CRPG or other game enterprise based off of the Champions IP (and not "just" HERO System), that would be the time to work on the transfer/buy back of IP.

We're talking past each other, I think. The purpose of HD is to allow building characters according to the rules of the system, not to expand on those rules or refine them.

Believe me, there are plenty of areas that I would like to “refine”/change the rules of the system (would make the coding of HD vastly easier in many areas)…but, again, that's not the purpose of HD.

Get the rules changed so that Side Effect is more granular/specific and I'll happily modify HD to match.
