  1. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Finally saw X-Men: First Class over the holidays. It was very good. I think it's probably better than the original trilogy.
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Danny Kaye was awesome. Note the young Angela Lansbury, as well.
  3. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I rewatched Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. It was much better than I remember. I haven't seen it since it was in the theaters. Of course, I've read a lot more pulp since then. The movie really does hit on most of the pulp tropes, even the sorta fuzzy sepia tone similar to everything to some early films.
  4. Re: A Thread for Random Videos Amanda Palmer is awesome! And she married Neil Gaiman, the lucky bastard.
  5. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I watched the first two episodes of "Once Upon a Time". GREAT SHOW. I highly recommend it!
  6. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Dracula - Bela Lugosi version. I've never seen this movie before. It's really good.
  7. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I watched The Shining again last night. Still my favorite horror movie of all time. Jack's slow descent into madness is great, and the poor kid's random encounters with ghosts were freaky. Shelley Duvall's trying to deal with everything makes me feel bad for her. She ends up being stronger and more resourceful than she appears at first glance. I love how the old black cook also has the shining and comes to save the day, but gets an ax in his chest before he even knows what's really going on. Talk about smashing expectations of the viewer! Kubrick handled it amazingly well. Scatman Crothers was very likable and I always want him to succeed, even though I know what's coming. The scenes where Jack talks to the bartender and the previous caretaker are also really creepy. And the final shot of the 1921 photo is a perfect ending.
  8. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I watched Paranormal Activity earlier tonight. I liked it. They did a great job considering how tiny the budget was. It was pretty creepy, though nowhere near as scary as The Grudge or The Ring. If I was 12, I'd be terrified to go to bed.
  9. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I think it's funny that people still use IE.
  10. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game That doesn't work, at least on my computer. It will save everything except keymaps.
  11. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game I agree. I like how CO has a one-button option to remap keys. As is, every single time I make a character, I go into Options and Keymapping and redo the movement keys and the targetting tabs.
  12. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Movies I've seen lately: Super! = Fantastic movie, but very definitely adults only. A more serious, psychotic version of Kick Ass. Thor = Good movie, more Marvel comics than Norse mythology. Centurion = ok movie. Very bloody during the battle scenes. The tracker scenes were poorly done, as in, I doubt the director knows anything whatsoever about it, yet made it a critical part of the movie. Captain America = fantastic movie. Really, better than I could have hoped for. On TV, I kind of gave up on Doctor Who during the long break. I might catch it on DVD in a year or two, but half seasons make me turn off your show. I do watch Blue Bloods. Easily the best cop show on TV.
  13. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game I love the storyline of the supers group. I'm not all the way through it yet, but it's fun. Spoiler I'm curious who the traitor will be. Most of the characters have had hints placed that it could be them.
  14. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game I have a Street Justice scrapper named Retrogirl. I really like this set.
  15. Re: "Neat" Pictures Is it bad that I've read most of those books, including the series they belong to?
  16. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game I have 2 chars starting new on Exalted: Nightstik (Mace/Willpower Scrapper) and Cogsworthy (Time/Electricity Defender). Yeah, I'm really happy they FINALLY have mace scrappers!
  17. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... In a Changeling the Lost game: Duncan and Steve are sneaking up to a subway car to spy on it's occupants, who were evil fae. Troll (our lookout) saw something and called Duncan's cell phone as he was looking in the window.
