Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
I like the picture just fine, myself.
IMO a minor critique or question of style here and there isn't unexpected or unwarranted. A second lengthier follow-up post that essentially shows errors, mistakes, the critic's expert knowledge or simply reinforces the original unasked for critique, even after that critique has been addressed, is arrogant and rude. But that could just be me.

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
En, I did respond to your link/article.
Folks, I'm sorry about the absence. I had two covers to put to bed, one of extremely tight deadline. The other I thought I had done, didn't like what I did and I'm in the process of repainting it because the deadline is a lot softer.
Then, this last weekend, I was layed out for two days with a headcold. I just didn't feel like doing diddly.
But I'm back in the studio, working away. Here are two commissions below the mag cover painting.

Or was that too much information...?

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
The jedi is actually an older commission, but held back from public view per request of the patron. He wanted to surprise his game group. He gave me permission to post it now that his group has seen the character.
Next up is a commission for the Hero Board's very own Jeff T.

Varekai (Cirque de Soleil) soundtrack - not sure which track as it's on random on a copied cd. Good stuff, though.

I forgot how much I loved having a dog. After only 2 days with my new Rott I can't imagine ever going for so long (6 years) without one again.

This is for "Heroes & Legends". From About Time! Games. They are
currently in playtest and have a tenative release date set for late 2006.
You can check out their website at http://www.abouttimegames.com.
I thought it was a clever tackling of a universal RPG system, instead of the multi figure approach of other covers.

15 years of marriage as of today, and happy for it. Unfortunately I look, sound and feel like death warmed over. The anniversary night out may not go so hot this year.

Man, five years ago I'd already be packin' for a road trip. I'd be like, "Hey, did someone drop this gauntlet?". And if her name started with an I, O, Q or U it'd be even better.

Background (brief)
Charlie Waters was an only child whose favorite game was "let's pretend." But, since he lived alone and mom and dad were never home, he started making imaginary friends for himself. Little did his very busy parents realize that Charlie's imaginary friends were actually visible to others besides Charlie. As Charlie got older, the imaginary friends became more real to him than his own self image. As he faded away, his images began being mistaken for real people. Now Charlie lives as a shadow, pretending to be other people to complicate their lives while he hides in the most inaccessible places watching his very own shadowplay, a spectator to other lives. Recently, Charlie has started masquerading as a supervillain, so he can embarass superheroes and other supervillains, too. The fun has really only just begun!
Hope you like it!

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
Thanks DT!! I really appreciate your help. Like DT said, been a bit swamped.
Okay, here are two. I've got a bunch more to do. If you have been waiting for yours, I apologize.
Right now, I only have 1 publisher's project on my desk... a cover... in between working on that, I will be cranking on commissions. 1 publisher project is actually pretty light for me.
Probably be doing pencil work at TrinityCon this weekend. If you are in the area, drop in.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
Every so often I sit down and watch a movie that I haven't seen yet, but that apparently everyone else has, and everyone raved about it. It was a hit at the box office, it was a hit with the critics, it may even have won awards (be it an Oscar or some horse-hockey "fan favorite" type award), and so on ad nauseum.
Well, I didn't like the movie and I can't help but wonder if that's just a matter of taste or, in my overwhelming arrogance, if everyone else was just fooled into thinking they were supposed to like it. It's the same with music, or television shows, or just about anything. Yeah, it's mostly about personal tastes, but what about those times when everyone but me likes something?
I mean, sometimes I know I'm the exception, but once in a while I feel like shouting, "WAKE UP!" to everyone I see.
