  1. In my fantasy campaign I add some extra pd to padded just to stop blunt and impact damage like that. Lots of good thoughts here, I think in general that padded armour is indeed underated.
  2. I hope its not going to get to cutsey lol. In any case if they make one good game and setting that is all that are needed since it like all other marvel properties will be discontinued and or replaced sooner or later. Its the quality that matters. I would like it to be richly illustrated of both the world and characters and have those cut out things where you have the hero on one side and their stats on the other. Oh and keep the Beyonder out of the game please lol.
  3. In most rpg systems I seen padded armour is almost nothing. Except maybe in the Hero system which is why I put this in general role playing. While padded armour is pretty much a thick mattress topper wrapped around you its still a lot better than nothing. Imagine if you are hit with a spiked club or a sword or whatever. You would be grateful for that mattress topper between the weapon and your body then! Further more while lots of armours would certainly save your life if hit it would often not save you from getting taking an injury to the point of not being able to fight. And that is what the padded armour does. It has the potential to save your life if you are hit with a sword, club or other implement of destruction. I think padded armour is a lot closer to other types of armour in usefulness than most games give them credit for. As in most other games I seen padded armour is just a joke or worse it actually hinders your movement so much you are better off (having a better armour class) without it. I think padded armour is vastly underrated as the difference in having padded armour and nothing at all is insurmountably greater than the difference between padded and plate and chain in my opinion. Atlest in Hero you do get to take away that one point in damage and the player would be grateful for that.
  4. I was thinking the same thing. It get more hints to D%D after a while with some numbers and how people deal with diffrent stuff.
  5. It took me two tries to get into it. I saw it first and then thought it was to weird but then a while after I gave it another shot and watched the whole first season. It just got better as soon I got over the hump of it being puppets.
  6. Thanks Ternaugh! That page show the newest that I have not seen but if you click "oldest" you will get to the first season which I seen.
  7. Taiwanese puppet shows! That is where its at now. There is this Taiwanese/Japanese co production of puppets called Thunderbolt Fantasy. Its really good. I seen first season and it rocked. I skipped the music intro the first times I watched the show because it was a bit much. But the show itself is awesome. I got used to music after a while. Taiwanese puppet shows is the new cool thing.
  8. Give all magic easy to dispell disadvantage and then keep the rules as is if some really heavy hitter casts magic.
  9. Its youtubes lack of taste and decorum combined with the relentless and incessant stupidity of twitter. A potent stew of evil and depravity indeed.
  10. More dudes watched Captain Marvel than women and more women than men whatched Aquaman. If you want women audience have men with abs take their shirt off. (Glittering and superpowers helps too) If you want men to watch your movie have some action and a sexy woman in it. (Even if you have to hire a butt double)
  11. I dont trust my pieces of meat to the warm orange hurt thing. It might boil the blood and drive the souls out of the prey.
  12. So what happned? What about the creepy guy who were trying to make her hit girl? Did he roll back on the sex jokes? How did it go with the child psychologist? Did they get along?
  13. You never gotten a recommendation? Not Astro city? Not Sin City? Not books of Magic? Not Watchmen? Not kingdom come? Not Killing joke? Not the Kraven saga? Nothing? Nothing at all?
  14. It does not count. Gail Simone has written almost everything and its always the same. She was absolutely right about women in refrigerators and an important voice in comics, but as an author she have had little impact. When was the last time you heard someone recommend or even talk about a comic story by her without mentioning her name? Better yet when did you read a Gail Simone story that you cared about? People care more about her as a person than they care about her as an author imo. Sure he was clueless but he kinda proves the point.
  15. So how did it go? How did the players take it? Presuming they found out in the first place. It would be interesting with an update.
  16. Dog doubter. Its a populist movement that believe in the conspiracy theory that there are no dogs in the world. Any dogs you see and or have met is a cgi simulation or a cleverly disguised very small horse. They been catching on youtube and I did not believe them at first but after listening to a couple of thousands of videos I am starting to think they have a point. There are just to many things that dont add up. Why does all dogs have four legs just like horses do? How are big dog food involved? Why does so many politician like dogs?
  17. A couple of years ago there were virus on this page but it seems safe now. Very useful for me as I dont know much about guns. http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Main_Page Want to know what kind of cool gun someone used in that movie that time? This place got it.
  18. Maybe overcome would be a better word? In any case she would be the one handing out the beating on the demon that possessed her.
  19. I think it would perhaps be the most fun for your players that she is possessed and that they somehow can help her "beat" her possession somehow.
  20. Robin does save Batmans ass a couple of times though. So buying him as a dnpc would be cheating. Basically any players who insist on giving their dnpc's weapons or gear and having them travel with them are probably powergamers and min maxers.
  21. Yeah Aragorn from games of thrones. Remember him? He used the glaive to save baby Garfield from the Gorgs. lol! I meant Aragorn from Lord of the rings and Samwise from Game of thrones just in case someone reads this and dont know what I am writing about. Thia Halmades: Yes the players will get to unlock the archetypes during play its not something they have to choose when they start to play. They would not even know what to choose. Its supposed to be a prize. Also Kage sound like gold. That type of style and flair is what I like in pcs. Spence: I would like to not sound like I am trying to codify alignments since I dont like that system that much. I mean back in the day when it was lawful, neutrals and chaotic s it was okay I guess. Because there were some chaotic creatures that had good intentions and some lawful that were cruel. But when they started with throwing in good and evil stuff there as well it got all muddled up and now Dnds (actually pathfinder) most popular campaign has an Lawful Evil satatan like supreme god who only let all the other gods exist because he feels guilty of killing the good god and he will make people see the value of iron discipline and law and order through sadism and having the coolest armours in the game. Good luck with that I say lol. Its not an attempt at codifying but exploring instead. Different approaches that reveal not as much where the pc come from and what shaped the character but its core soul, what makes it different from others who are not heroic. I feel if I could make this concept more palatable I would be able to nail the 7 hero concept. Any thoughts on how big the rewards should be?
  22. They are already paying with their flesh and blood. WWE can go to hell!
  23. Ok to address your criticisms of the heroic archetypes I made up. The refined hero can both be an mentor and an apprentice and in general they will often be in such roles. But they can also just be people who value civilization and human rights. Im thinking guys like Obi Wan from Star Wars. Or Rey also from Star Wars. Picard from Star trek maybe? Aragorn and Samwise from game of thrones. Only seen some episodes of that series. Refined heroes can be everything from an retired general who try to tell young up and comers to calm their passions or a travailing barber woman who refuse to join in a schemes that dont target the oppressive trade syndicate that have an iron grip on the city. Because targeting the common folk would -just- not -be- decent! The pure hero: Here is where I see the first cracks in my concepts coming up as you took it to a negative point. That is very useful as I did not create these archetypes with an negative viewpoint on them in mind but were rather busy with being vauge so it could include as many types of characters as possible. As for the pure hero I am thinking that they can indeed be very wise. But its a child like pure wisdom based on intuition and clarity that comes from not being dragged down by their own shadow if that makes sense. As for pure heroes I am thinking Luke Skywalker or other fantasy character like that. While many might find such character boring in a book I can guarantee you that its fun in an adventuring group of friends as they can contrast of eachother. This is the only time I disagree a little bit with your assessments of the heroes Archer btw otherwise you been pretty much on target. The kind hero: A bit more realistic hero for the more mature role player, you pointing out that the person genuine wants to understand others was a good idea. My concept was a person who liked people because they understood their feelings even though they might not have agreed with them but wanting to understand is also a great heroic quality. Lot of fictionally heroes fit here. Gandalf for instance. Or Han Solo from Star Wars(kind heroes can understand villains as well) Frodo is a kind hero. The logical hero: Being sure of himself, being odd to others and getting lost in his own mind is great character traits that would flesh out an hero. And they certainly fit. But an logical hero could also not have those traits. My wish for this hero is to give the rules lawyers and the careful players an positive look at being logical. The logical hero could be Mr Spock or Odo from Star Trek but I dont really remember them that much so I might be wrong. Loyal hero: While your point on the loyal hero wanting to have people be loyal back are well made the loyal hero can or can not have that trait. This hero arch type will be different in different cultures more than the others I expect. As for example I am thinking Sam from Lord of the rings. Other than that loyal heroes are a bit of a catch all for heroic characters that dont really have any reason for being heroic other than that they dont want to abandoned their friends and allies. The balanced hero being more interested in justice rather than law was not something I was thinking of but such a hero would be terrifying for the villains indeed. In fiction this is usually what the hero becomes at the end of the movie especially in martial arts movies. Data from Star trek or Finn from Star wars. Elves are often this type of heroes in classic fantasy stories Arwen and Legolas are balanced heroes. Again this concept need some more work so any input is welcome.
