Trencher reacted to phoenix240 in Superhero Images
Iron Maus: Armored political statement. Despite his comedic appearance, Iron Maus is quite serious in his war against corporate dominance and its stranglehold on many endeavors especially the creative fields. And his (Iron Maus is presumed male but no one has seen his true appearance). armor is no joke either and is easily a match for some of the most formidable high tech battlesuits available.

Shaman: Native American mystic hero torn between his legacy of power and responsibility and his modern sensibilities.

Trencher reacted to phoenix240 in Superhero Images
For a time, Shaman joined the international superteam "Unity" and changed his costume to reflect their more modern (and to some degree paramilitary) mind set. -

Trencher reacted to Grailknight in Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker
Because it will take all three plus a discount to make me even consider paying money for this movie. I haven't been the target audience since the original trilogy. The prequels used up all my nostalgia and these sequels have done nothing to draw me back.

That makes me think the plot isn't very tight.

Trencher reacted to Ternaugh in Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker
If I remember right, Yoda's force-ghost burned the texts, and the attempted murder was Kylo Ren's "certain point of view". Jedi and Sith are by definition unreliable narrators, though the Sith tend to be a bit more honest about their manipulations.

wait, wait, I got it, and then the dying parasitic alien that has been controlling Luke crawls out of Luke's ear. I just saved your (edit), Rian Johnson.
(Of course, expect Roddenberry estate suing the (edit) I just saved.

Trencher reacted to Christopher R Taylor in Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker
Well it wasn't clear Luke died, just that he... fell over for no apparent reason after acting like a completely different person than 3 previous films established him being.

To quote Stephan Dube's comment on YouTube, "It's the son of Palpatine we hear. Ovaltine."

That tagline about a generation and a hero seems familiar...
Oh yeah, because they used it for The Phantom Menace trailer
That worked out great

I am a Star Wars fan.
I am not a fan of the surplus fanwank movies.

Yeah, The Last Kingdom is excellent.

Trencher got a reaction from Starlord in Movies and TV Shows That are Great
The last kingdom is a great TV series. Much better than game of thrones imo.
The vikings are portrayed a bit unrealisticly but the story is great.

The Towering Inferno (1974)
Paul Newman is the Architect of the 135 Story 1600 foot tall Glass Tower in San Francisco. Unfortunately builder William Holden's son in law Richard Chamerlain used cheaper wiring and a fire starts. With Robert Wagner, Faye Dunaway, Fred Astaire, and Steve McQueen as the Fire Chief.

Trencher reacted to Christopher R Taylor in Batwoman
Its a lot easier to write soap opera side stories and subplots than actual gripping adventure. Plus, its a lot cheaper to have the protagonist in regular clothes hanging out talking rather than in costume out doing deeds of heroism. Nobody needs to train or practice fight choreography, nobody needs to be paid to come up with the fight choreography or do the stunts, etc.
