  1. Hi, I'm an old Champions player, looking for a Discord server for HERO games, I tried the link, but says it's unavailable. Is there a new link, since I would like to join up.
  2. Re: List Your CO Heroes! Now that RMC is working I was able to find my characters. http://champions-online.com/rate_my_champion/820588 http://champions-online.com/rate_my_champion/2304 http://champions-online.com/rate_my_champion/53099 http://champions-online.com/rate_my_champion/68795 http://champions-online.com/rate_my_champion/864693 http://champions-online.com/rate_my_champion/754441 I'm setting my characters up with 3 costume theme's by 18th level, I had a cool angel type character I'll add his picture at a later time. I'm now thinking I'll use his design as a nemesis for Adwellin Kale, but the design is very cool. Armor sets will be set up for.... 1) Standard Adventuring 2) Forensic Combat 3) Club Caprice Casual or Appropriate for setting (RP) I need to rework Gloryfox's force powers so I'm leaving him at 9th until I can afford to respec and set him up correctly.
  3. Re: The HERO System 6th Edition Will there be a 6th ed Combat Summery PDF, to help introduce new players? or Will the old one suffice?
  4. Re: Official Hero Boards Super Team And Chat Channel! Hi Steve, Lifetime member with CO, and I'd like to join although I've not been active on these forums for a while. I'll look you up online when I'm on. IGN Ardwellin Kale@Gloryfox main Tzu Qui Jenna@Gloryfox other main
  5. Re: So what concepts are you tempted to play on the MMORPG anyway? I keep thinking I'll remake many of my old Champions characters such as the Grasshopper (Clinging Acrobat Martial Artist), Gloryfox (Tank with Flash powers when he hits), Spirit of Freedom (Shape changer). I understand Shape change will be something they are adding ATM.
  6. Re: A qustion about the Ethical Treatment of Villians. OMGOSH I did mispell it! Sorry Lord Liaden. I'm having a hard time seeing Dark Champions as it's own MMO. Easy to see it as it's own game however. So if someone makes a Harby in ChO will Steve sue? (ducks and covers from sniper sight)
  7. I know this has probably been answered already but.. Will we see Harbinger of Justice? I know that Steve owns Harbinger of Justice since it's his character but still will we see him in Champions online or is that completely off the table?
  8. Re: Which Champion are you Noble and true, you are the hero other heroes aspire to be. You are a natural leader, selfless and kind, who will put the lives of others above your own, and are steadfast in your pursuit of justice. Take the quiz! I guess he likes Pie too.
  9. Re: Champions Online - Server Names I would also love to join a Super Group based on HERO fans. I know the game is months away from release but please add me to your list.
  10. Re: WWYCD: "Tell me about your teammates." GloryFox - Thinking to himself, "Wow just wow that new member Whei Tu Fauun chick is just so damm hot!" "Must not show it, must concentrate on being a good example of a good team leader." "Oh crap! she is wearing that black skin tight thong cleavage busting outfit again," "Concentrate... must continue to concentrate on the task at hand..." The Grasshopper - "I swear these guys need to pull it together!" "No one cares I repeat no one cares who ordered the double Cheese, Pepperoni, Onion, and Anchovie extra large pizza." "Either eat it, pick the toppings off you don't like or stop complaining about it." Thinks to himself all the time, "Perhaps I should become a villain and kick their asses? At least maybe then they will act like a team." Spirit of Freedom - "Hey you gonna eat that left over smoked salmon?" "If these guys flirt with my wife one more time I'm gonna go all Bear Form on their asses." "You know someone pays for Direct TV at the super secret lodge, if that person wants to watch Hockey on Monday nights guess what? He gets too I don't care if the new 24 is on, get your own Direct TV and remote control."

Everywhere he went he drew Heavy Metal crowds far and wide. He was famous for his time and even did tours with various Heavy Metal Bands. He was handsome strong, and short. He was all about the fans, and he did have fans, lots of them. One day 1989 a odd looking fan showed up at his door before a concert, he was used to visitors before the concerts but this was not an ordinary fan. Once he opened the door to this fan began changing forms in front of him. It had a third eye in its head red skin and gaping maw filled with teeth. Its hands had suction cups like a squids in the middle of its hands. He thought it was a stage prop at first until it grabbed him and began to suck the life out of him. That’s when his powers finally kicked in. He suddenly felt invincible as he fell backwards through the dressing trailer pulling the creature with him. The creature no longer had him but instead Imp had it, and began crushing it little by little, breaking first its arms then crushing it’s body as if it was a doll toy. Just before it died the creature turned back. Turned back into what it looked like before it was the monster. Then there was the screams as people flocked to the area, “he killed him!” someone shouted. So Imp ran, he just ran, until the M.I.B. showed up. As he turned a corner a woman appeared and she said, “wait it was not your fault we saw what happened, quickly come with us if you want to live.” Imp’s life changed at that moment, he knew his life would be different somehow. It took a while for him to understand what it was that tried to kill him. He felt like a freak for destroying that dressing trailer, and killing that creature with his bare hands. What had he become? “It was a Changling, but its dead now, we are tracking the other two right now” said another agent over a radio. Imp left that night with the M.I.B. he had not known about the secret war of the Changlings or how they were hunting people with extraordinary abilities or even exactly why they had begun hunting him, but what he did know was that he could never be Imp Steel again. Imp joined the M.I.B. first because all the babes were hot, and he was still a celebrity of sorts. He was not truly interested in the war against the Changlings or protecting mankind against the aliens or extra dimensional monsters that found their way into our world, or the threat of advancing technologies. Imp was all about the travel to various countries, the celebrity status and the free coffee. Then after the recent event in Siberia and realizing that his friends were getting older, his celebrity status was fading, plus he had never truly aged much since 1989 he decided it was his time to fit in, and take his place within the ranks of the M.I.B. or at least be serious now and try to make a difference in the world. He was special and the Changlings were still out there devouring people with special abilities just like him. Who better to protect people with special abilities than one of their own? Personality/Motivation: Imp wants to be taken seriously now. After years of just sitting on the sideline and making M.I.B. mixer appearances he has chosen to fully join the team on the front lines. He has seen first hand how Changlings have destroyed lives, his life in particular. He wants to contribute to honor the memory of many of his comrades that have gone the way of old age, whereas he has stayed young. Imp is a big fan of Special Unit 2 but does not want to be thought of as the gnome of the group. Quote: “It’s time to Rock and Roll old school style!” Powers/Tactics: Imp has an ability called Going Platinum. Essentially it’s one power linked to several powers at the same time. Imp’s density increases to an astounding amount. His durability and ability to resist damage is also quite astounding when he goes platinum. One odd thing about his power is that his overall weight does not seem to affect the ground he walks on. Instead of making cracks in the ground or falling through the floor he just moves around as normal. To date it’s a physics enigma as to how or why he can do this. Campaign Use: Imp is the muscle man of the party. Appearance: Imp is about 4’8” tall and about 200 lbs until he goes platinum. He has green eyes and black hair; he has a great personality and sense of humor. He is attractive and known as a chick magnet so most guys are a bit protective of their women around him. Imp is clean and always in style. When not on the job he wears his trademark Heavy Metal leather duster.
  12. Re: A Game Of Questions Can you Start by being my Friend?
  13. Re: Loved at home hated by the world. Wow, I was not expecting the harsh responses here since. a) I said this was for a background plot. I never said the player characters in my current game "are" indeed the ones on trial. The question was WW"Y"CD what I have not chosen yet, is what the character in question did when everything turned against him. The stage is set, I have just not chosen the outcome past, what did the defendant do after he was accused? ..... Fact is the players are doing the Investigation for the defending attorney and helping out another costumed comrade in need of help. What is wrong with that style of an adventure? What I get the feeling here is that people are under the mindset that I am somehow making a political statement. I'm not, I'm running a supers CSI style game (that my players enjoy) where Hudson City is the backdrop. The HERO in question and the attorney representing him is also from that City. For those who replied without prejudice and answered the question thank you.
  14. Re: Loved at home hated by the world. For clarification the U.S. does indeed extradite people to other countries for trial even in Death Penalty cases that are accidental or not. HERO's would and could be extradited in this world, the year is 2034 and the New World Order is in the process of becoming a serious reality. Thus there was and is in this world a need for strong international laws on meta-humans. This would follow under treaties with the respective nation in question who returned to Sharia Law post treaty. Because the HERO's were non-Muslims and their actions did result in the death of Islam believers the country in question is seeking the Death Penalty (evil infedel even if you did save the city it's obviously a western trick). Your country does not hold to Sharia but supports the ideal of a nation of Law. It is the current policy of the United States in this time to be a protector of Law, even if that Law does not make sense to those living in the United States. "We are a nation of Law who support the use of Law" has become a form of propaganda world wide in this time line. (Yes there are some "Law vs. Lawful" ties to the reality of the Supers in their time line. Supers are slowly becoming the target of the state do to the ideal of upholding what is lawful and right vs. the laws made out of fear of meta humans, of their time line. Real or not this is not an uncommon theme within the bounds of comic books.) Furthermore at this point in history Islam is the predominant religion of the world (actually it is now) and Shria Law has become popular world wide because of social steins upon the nations who are influenced by the threat of Jihad & turmoil upon them if they don't. Disclaimer-The events are for a backdrop story arch I am writing, not actual in game events with real players - yet.
  15. Re: The Devil's Advocate? GloryFox - I would use my passive light of revealing aura to suppress Illusion and mental powers. Spirit of Freedom - meh, not to worry, these things happen. Get em next time. The Grasshopper - is not above kicking the evil attorney in the groin.
  16. You were a super HERO once, you battled foes far and wide. You defeated the terrible Dr. Insertnamehere, and the Abomination from beyond. People loved you in your homeland but not in the land you just had that unfortunate event in. The terrible day happened when a group of innocent bystanders get in the way and you had to do the unthinkable to save more lives. You could not control it since that group of normals just jumped in front of your bullet, punch, kick, ball of unyielding energy, or that small 4-wheeled vehicle that you just threw at the evil villain and the mind controlled (thats what you assumed) bystanders just stood there and died. You know it was an accident but no one in the country you made the mistake in believes you and the people you were protecting don’t care. You get a subpoena to appear before a court tribunal with no jury in that foreign country you had just saved and the country in question is hostile to supers and those that are different. The government of that country is seeking the death penalty for your actions. International law says you must appear in their court and face whatever consequences might be in store for you. Furthermore the U.N. files a resolution condemning your country of origin for not turning you over for trial. You feel as if there is no way of publicly avoiding this and you even get sympathy from your chief rival a position offered to you by your most hated foes to take the spot of the villain you just defeated. WWYCD?
  17. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central Congrats to Shield Maiden, may your stories be inspiring, and your courage be grand.
  18. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central The Spirit of Freedom waits patiently as he believes wisdom shall prevail as it should over all else.
  19. Re: Your character's pet peeve(s) GloryFox - Socialists, and global warming based super hero's (however since I also find both of these annoying its hard to tell if I'm playing me or playing my favorite character. Perhaps a little bit of both.) Spirit of Freedom - People who eat cake over pie and give presents then take them back. (Indian Givers since SoF is an Inuit) People who defile the land with garbage, toxic waste or who kill innocent animals for sport and not for food, clothing or shelter. Oil companies who steal land through legislation rather than negotiating in good faith with the people who occupy the land they want. People who call him an Indian instead of First Nations Citizen or Inuit. The Grasshopper - martial Arts Super HERO's who can't hit the broad side of a barn, have no other super powers to compliment their martial arts and are basically useless. Martial Arts super villains who can't hit the broad side of a barn.
  20. Re: In the Gestalt Universe, The Superhero Ideal Good Question, I would presume that his ideology was more Heroic than his powers. A Hero can take many forms even in Gestalt what truly defines a Hero are the actions he takes not just the powers. Anyone can be a hero (firemen, cop, even a politician like William Wilberforce, or many of the founding fathers of these united States) thus to be a hero one must act like a hero. I would make him Fairly tough (but not invulnerable because a hero will fight on despite the odds being against him thus he should be an example of this attribute), can fly, reasonable High STR, high PER. His mere presence should inspire others like Captain America (I refer to Steve Rogers not Bucky) and cause dread among villains. Liberty, Freedom, and Justice (equity) should be his highest ideal, and injustice, tyranny and Slavery his bane. I think you can come up with idea's for powers based upon this info.
  21. Re: about bricks and possibly super powers in general I tend to do a little of everything. One of my favorite characters (not mine but one of my friends) is a midget muscle man. His special effect is density fields not the “pure muscles” type of character you mentioned earlier. The power of the HERO system shines when it allows the player to imagine his own SFX.

Once he had proven himself as a warrior he could marry and provide for both his village and his family. His only dreams were to live a simple life off the land, and raise many sons in the safety and security of the land & its people. That is when the dreams began, he would move through the forest large and uncontested, he felt strong and indestructible. In his dreams each night he would find the bodies of Animals, bears perhaps, their skin removed and bodies desecrated, the sight filled him with rage as this was a senseless killing, not done for provision but for sport and entertainment alone. In his dreams he would find more and more, until one dream he found hunters who did such a horrendous act. They were human 5 of them, but in his dreams they were no threat to his might they could not stop the Spirit of Rage within him. He attacked them and tore them from limb to limb for defiling the land with their sport. Mercifully he let one go in his dream that he would be a warning to others. That was when he woke only to find his hands and mouth covered in blood. quickly washed his face and hands not knowing why this had happened. He went to work as normal collecting wood and supplies as usual. Today was a big day he was to meet with his wife to be for the first time. It was said that she was to be the new Angakkuq “Spiritual Leader” of the clan after she is married. He was excited to see her as it was said she was wise beyond her years a true gift to the people. Qumanique the chieftain’s first born was to be married to her this month after the ceremonial hunt. hunt was delayed however as news so horrible and terrifying it would stop the hunt this time. Many grizzlies were found dead, shot to death, and skinned for sport 15 miles away from the village. They also found the bodies of four oil workers ripped to pieces and the tracks of truck that left the scene. These bears were not hunted for food or warmth but for torture and sport. His dream became a reality, a nightmare, as he knew he was to blame but did not know how. He withdrew to his home only to get a knock on the door. It was his fiancé, the new Angakkuq her eye’s pierced his very soul and he found a love he had never felt before but he knew, she knew it was him. He was responsible. Quietly she placed her hand over his heart. “You have both the Spirit of Life and the Spirit of Freedom within you. Do not be afraid for the Great Spirit over all has gifted you with the Bear, Wolf, Eagle, and Dolphin to be a protector of both man and nature our people and all people. You and I were meant to be together from birth and I will be yours and our peoples guide and you will be our peoples great protector and mine. Now are the days where the Tuurngait takes the form of flesh, the true destroyers of life.” that month Qumanique was married to his new wife. He brought peace to his tribal lands and protected his wife and people well. He learned of his powers and abilities from her guidance and in time learned of his great purpose, he was the embodiment of life and of freedom, she was the embodiment of spirit and of wisdom. Eventually he left the village to seek out a better way to protect his people and the people of the world. He felt the call to aid those in need not just those for his village but the need to help others as well. He still loves the Angakkuq his wife and she him, but she knows that he must help and protect others as well. He was meant not just for the Inuit of Alaska but to teach people the value of life. All life, so that life would understand its purpose. Personality/Motivation: Quaminique is always calm and easy spoken. He values the company of others but misses his wife very much. She does visit him when she can but does not leave the village often. He is careful about how he approaches situations and strongly dislikes city life but understands that he is needed here. He has strong beliefs and attends church when he can. He studies theology as a hobby and uses his gifts of healing freely on others. He believes that by fighting injustice not just in his homeland but also all over the world that he is engaged in a Spiritual battle. He commonly refers to Super Villains as Tuurngait’s (or demons) of corruption. That somehow super villains are the disembodied spirits made physical form. He will try and exorcise the spirit (villain) by requesting it’s surrender if he can. If not there are other ways of dealing with an entity of evil. Quote: “It is better that man learn to fish so that he may feed his family than for a man to treat another man as a fish.” Powers/Tactics: Qumanique has 4 forms to use in combat, Bear for tanking, Wolf for Sneak attacks information and tracking, Dolphin for being underwater, and Eagle for Flying. His Bear form is his primary form. One aspect of his powers is that his clothes and other items do not change with him. Therefore he keeps extra sets of clothes in a backpack that he must retrieve after he changes forms. Qumanique also has the ability to heal people and will heal comrades after combat. This is an aspect of healing he can apply over and over again and it takes one full turn for someone to regenerate. Also when he can aquire natural herbs he can also heal the diseased and the sickend. This takes time however so the recipiant is out of luck if they are going to die in just a few phases. Powers/Tactics: When in Bear form our hero cannot use skills he may have had as a human, he is under the rage of the Grizzly and has only basic instincts that his subcouncious dictates. Because of this he is unable to make use of most of his normal skills. Furthermore he has many of the drawbacks are apparent early on. For example he cannot talk, he can only make bear noises, growls and looses many other human features such as opposible thumbs. Spirit of the Grizzly will almost always make a ROAR attack when attacking. He will use blunt weapon or normal attacks on most things unless he truly needs to shred something up like a plane, train or automobile. Only then will be use his killing attack. As a Bear he is not above biting his opponets or drawing blood. One disadvantage when using his powers is that his clothes get shredded when he changes form. He will be mostly naked when changing back to human form. The hero will remember his actions once he returns to his normal form. Also keep in mind that when in this form our hero is almost 13 feet tall and weighs 1600 kg or 3527.40 lbs Not the best way of posting a character but I think it will do. If you are really interested I'll post the other 3 forms. Just know that they are on the same power level as Spirit of the Grizzly
  23. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central Yes some G.M.s have "house rules" for a multform character. For example if I make a form that has 400 base points and add 150 in disadvantages (to make a character who has 550 points) then would you consider the form to be 550 points at 115 points or 400 for a cost of 85 points?
  24. Re: Avengers: The Next Generation on Hero Central I have a character called Spirit of Freedom, he is a Meta Morph as he turns into either a Grizzly, Wolf, Eagle, or Dolphin. Each of these forms are extreme paragons of their forms. How do you as a G.M. Interpret Multiform so I can submit an appropriate write up.
