  1. I make cosplays, here is my Reinhardt
  2. Thanks for the feedback, I now feel I have a better grasp.
  3. I thought I was reasonably familiar with the game, we are playing 6th edition. A player asked me why they would want mental defense, vs just buying more ego. As I looked into it, it seams they are worth about the same, though one is subtracting from an attack, while the other offers a higher number for the attacker to achieve. I am sure there must be some advantage to mental defense, or else why offer it ? Ego would offer better rolls for breaking out of mental paralysis or initiative in psyic combat, but I cant seam to find the perk side of Mental defense.
  4. Hi Steve, I have unsuccessfully looked for an answer to this. I understand that one could use stealth and hide from normal hearing, what I am unclear on is the influence "targeting" would have on a perception role vs stealth. I came up in our last game and rereading the perception rules does not seam to help. Also, in the same vain, what influence would stealth have vs "active sonar" ? Thank you for your time.
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys, and yes I am aware of the many limitations. The "Fire and forget" aspect seams to good, I just wanted to feel out others on this .
  6. Hello all, i had the idea of my Transformer char fireing 4"smart" missiles...And of them turning into smallish robots bent on racing up to an oppentent and EXPLODING. I based my buy on summons 5:1 point ratio... 10! points = a 50 point guy. Add in loyety +1X, and +1/2 ( rapid)...Plus 10 points( 4 guys). 50 Active points. My question is this, Is this overpowering ? i get to take one half action... My guys get a half action start, and a full action every round afterwards to try and hunt you down. I only spend endurance once, but round after round ...They hunt. It occered to me that I could buy his powes cheep...1/day or Burn out...Is this over powered ? My loss is Clear...It may take sevrel rounds to get close enough, then my missiles still have to hit. Some feedback please.
  7. Hi Steve, This question is a rules abuse question. I am building a Transformer charecter, and I want him to fire 4 missiles at a time. trying to get them to be "Smart" I tried building them with summon (4 missils, 10/50 points)( slavish loyal,+1X ) and Rapid ( 4 at once/ +1/2X)...costing a total of 50 points. If I understand the rules properly, I now have 4 50 point guys who will die at my command. They would get a half move to start the first round, would have there own OCV/DCV, movement , ect. I think it will be fun in game play....Imagine them compeating for who get to explode first, foolishly making plans for " after" the big fight, asking for the day off. My real question is simple....Is this a rules abuse ? I get 4 missils, I take one action, and for several rounds they try and hit. My disadvantage is clear...They have to be able to fly fast, do damage, pay for OCV and basicly have all the problems of a HTH combatant, the gimmick will probably take 2 roumds to pull off mimium. Is this a fair use of the rules, or a munchkin abuse ? P.S. Just imagin the PC's reaction....they are crawling over him, trying to get to the GOOD stuff before blowing up
  8. Hi Steve, I apologize if this is posted elsewhere, my poor serch-fu skills have not found it. A player charecter in my game has purchesed psyic detection ( sense, range, targeting, discrimatory and penatrative)...only works on sentient minds. How far out can he percive minds ? What penelty to I applybfor range ? Is it "Line of sight" or -1 per X distance ? Just want to be fair to the player, but not overkill with it. Thanks
  9. Re: Duplication Hijinks I think you would have to have all dup include "regeneration/death", with some mods on it . Core rules say..."kill a dup, lose him forever"...how are you overcoming that? Cheaper way would be to buy "Summon, agreeable +1X" and put regeneration/ death on the "BASE" guy
  10. Hi Steve, I am writing up a hero with Power Armor (OIF ) and Absorption add to strength. My hero already has base Strength of 10 and +30 (OIF, armor). He also has absorption 10 points(Phy) adds to strength. My question is, when he adds to strength, is he adding REAL points, or active points ? So, if he absorbs 10 points, does he now have 50, or 55 strength ? Is this changed if he bought absorption with a limit ? Is the new strength automatically limited with (OIF) ? It seams to me, he should lose the extra strength, if he loses the armor. But then should he not also gain the advantage of the armor as well ?
  11. Re: Superhero settings vs People with Powers settings My original point was not that Reed was mega rich, but that the "super hero" universes are filled with imposable characters. Doom is a tech genius, a high level mage, mega weathy, power armor wearing KING. My point was that one of the key differences to PWP is not just the power level, but how believable the charecters are. The cab driver, with girlfriend problems....and she's NOT a supermodel...That's problems most people can relate too. Now add in super powers, but do not make him a paragon of virtue. He does not have to be a villain, or an ass...just ordinary.
  12. Re: Superhero settings vs People with Powers settings wolverine-cyborge/spy/mutant/samurai Forge-shamen/mutant/cyborg/soldier/inventer Reed Richards- Inventor/cosmic powers/super rich/super genius Iron Man- Playboy/Inventor/entrepreneur/Power armor/super genius/super rich Many characters from both Marvel and DC are just SOOO good it's crazy. not just with the morel fiber, but Just TOO good, it makes it hard for a "normal" to relate too
  13. Re: Superhero settings vs People with Powers settings I think there is an element you are all missing, the rules the world runs by. In a superhero world, you catch the falling girl and shes fine, in PWP, she might have a broken back from stopping so quick. Also, in a super setting, hero's have challenges that are right up there ally...magic villain's fights magic hero. PWP, challenges are lower level, like "gov shadow team". Challenges could be...stop crime, but there is all that drug money on the table, and your 2 months behind on the house payment...do you take the money ? I also feel characters on PWP are simpler, no 4 step mega char...just " strong guy" or "cat powers"...not "cat powers, plus cybernetic implants and super tech cat mobile, and also super billionaire "...though that does not mean they cannot have a fun backstory.
  14. Re: Adversarial Answers I hate it when a build gets nerfed without being given a chance to try it out. On the other hand, I have built VVP that have made myself SOOO useful, that I shined at every scene. Had to retire that build I feel that anything that slows up gameplay A LOT is a no go, witch can include summon, duplication or anything that take too long to rule on...if its only once, no problem. Everybody at the table should have a chance to play. I do like VVP's, and with the right limits, they can be fun and balanced. BTW, I like and use "Unified" lots, I always had a hard time understanding how you could only drain "Part" of my mutant powers. Also it is the replacement for EC, or a reward for having a thematic powerset...Fire powers instead of fire blast plus mindcontrol.
  15. Hi Steve, I have a Multi power ( 60 point/Spells ) and I would like to place a constant power with Continuing Charges in it Slot 1) PD/ED 20 points resilent. Continuing Charges , 3 charges, duration 6 hours each. Hero builder seams to think this is a zero point advantage. I thought it would be worth far more. 1) If I understand correctly, I can Buff myself in the morning, and then use my multi power any way I would like for the next 6 hours, while still retaining my Mage Armor....and If knocked out, it would still continue to protect me. Feels overpowered to me, but maybe I'm reading it wrong ?
