  1. Hello there !

I have quite a complex question around the use of Mental Powers and the Desolidification power combo. For the example I'm using a 5th edition book, but I guess there wasn't major changes in the rules around my point in the 6th.

In Vibora Bay book, Dr Ka is defined with an Astral Form, which is Desolid. And has a bunch of mental powers to use, but without Affect Desolid adder. The Ultimate Mentalist book doesn't help in explaining that, just giving some tips on what happen when the target or the mentalist becomes Desolid AFTER a Mental Power has been used. I understand that EGO represents the "mind" of a person, and could be affected by any mental powers, even from a desolid form.

Does that means the Dr Ka's character has clearly been badly built (p47 Vibora Bay), since he only got a naked advantage of Affect Desolid applied to his STR?

His mental powers are clearly made to affect people while his Desolidification is Persistent, 0 END cost.

I had the "feeling" that he might be able to attack physical beings with his mental powers while Desolid, but maybe I misunderstood how he could use such powers. Having such a multipower only able to affect other astral forms seems a bit useless.

I need the info, since my players are ongoing the excellent Imaginary Friends scenario.

  2. Hi LL !

Yes, with COVID, I had at least time to come back to Champions rpg somehow ^^. And let my imagination do the rest.

Thanks for the pointers. I am considering opening a tabletop for a campaign where my PCs starts as normal guys, and get empowered. Or maybe they will become agents of VIPER, ARGENT, or who know where they will decide to go !

Maybe I should open another thread focused on VIPER, and see how the community can contribute 😛

  3. I was introduced to Champions by a GM using a mix of 4th and 5th editions.

I bought the 6th edition myself, with alot of 5th books for settings.

And now after alot of games and considerations, I consider that 6th edition is not worth it. I prefer largely 5th that I consider more consistent, coherent and balanced.

  4. Hey !

I was reading again the Coils of the Serpent recently, and I realized that I couldn't find all the enlisted Supervillains. Wouldsomeone know into which book find those ones ?

    Bloodstar High-DEX, high-SPD weaponmaster
    Boruto (“Volt”) Electricity powers Japan

    Delusion Holographic super-technology Miami

Hayaikaze (“Swiftwind”) Speedster, wind manipulation powers Japan
    Hiss Mental powers
Iron Lightning Magnetism, electricity powers Southern Africa

    Tornado Whirling/speedster powers
Tungarak Super-strength, earth powers  -> found it on Bay City book from C:NM, but it isn't linked to VIPER there
    Whitefire Fire powers

  5. Heya

    I created my own HDT (named Fantasy Hero hdt) for a Shadow WOrld game, that includes specific stats. Which works fine;

But I can't manage to make the Equipment tab appear when I load it, and I can't find why.

Please can you tell me what I may be missing ?

    Attached is the said file

    Warm Regards

@grandmastergm, I wasn't going to have any multi powers at the beginning, and they are different items rather than one weapon with multiple slots.  And, of course,  she needs Complications.

@opale. Yes, but hurry.  I'm almost full.

well, link to the rpol ?

  7. god, I like to read this silly topic ^^

Makes me smile to start the day.

And I wondered how I could build up a character sheet for a certain palindromedary; not doubt he's a goofy one !

Opale, hard to wake up this morning

  8. Two teams. The, "Shield" team is the public one, defenders of Russia. Team, "Sword" is covert ops.

I use to think having two teams called "hammer" And "Scythe" would be better, as related to Russian flag :P

  9. Personally I envision my native France as a dark and gloomy place for superheroes.

It's all cultural I guess, as most of francophone people doesn't have the cultural biais to believe in a superheroic savior. They would more likely enjoy watching such a person fail or die...

Anyway, I think the Micros comics book, in the eighties , is a good sample of what could be done with french superheroes. I.E, a government that control supers on his lands by using blackmail, threat, corruption, etc...

that would be the Champions of France book I could write. Not the kind of stuff most people would enjoy to play with, imho.

    Opale, now expatriated

  10. Probably too many to count.

    Lucius Alexander

The palindromedary thinks I should assemble some and have a poll to see which people consider goofiest.

Offers to bribe the Palindromedary to make you post them !

Opale, wondering btw if Brickhouse counts as one goofy character too afterall
