  1. Re: 12 months, 12 characters. January. The Speedster Well based on the little bit I saw on the magic user thread, it looks like that one will probably be female, so lets go with male for the speedster. Plus my two favorite speedsters are guys.. Flash and Quicksilver. For powers, why don't we go a little bit away from the "norm." How about he gathers up kinetic energy while he's moving at supersonic speeds and is able to project it as a blast. A speedster that utilizes the strafe maneuver could be a lot of fun.
  2. Re: 12 months 12 Characters. February The Spellcaster Personally I have always like the idea using incantations and gestures on spellcaster characters. The couple I have built had both limitations on all of their bigger spells. Then for the little easy stuff I would leave the limitations off. For these other spells I used a smaller multipower on one character and a small vpp on the other.

  4. Re: Outside the Box powers We had a character once who could tell people just about anything and make them believe it... or even mimic others with ventriloquism so that the target would believe what they were hearing from somebody else. A great example was one time he player told the big nasty brick, right after he hit me for 25 dice with a move through, that he was blind. So of course it worked as a flash and the big guy really thought he was blind. The next round he mimicked the bricks best friends voice just outside the window screaming, "Crusher, help me! They're killing me!" Crusher then jumped out the window to save his friend, who had actually fled the battle already. We were in one of the top levels of a skyscraper. Needless to say, we got some good laughs from that one.
  5. Re: Sickle Syndicate A big brickish mob chick named Mother Russia.
  6. Re: RIP: Ray Bradbury It made me very sad to hear this at the bar last night. RIP
  7. Re: Something all SF gamers should have. Mostly I think this would be a great way for everyone to show the things they have made for their games. Of course we might end up getting some stuff from other sources. I would actually be very surprised if we didn't have a lightsaber posted on here at some point.
  8. Re: Something all SF gamers should have. That, sir, is a great idea. We should totally do it.
  9. Re: Something all SF gamers should have. Wow that's cool. I bet there are a bunch of good ideas in there. Just have to figure out how to convert the cool stuff.
  10. Re: Gastropod "love dart" Well I don't really know what the exact effect of the impregnation would be, I would have to say make it a killing attack with whatever else you want linked to it. AlHazred explained it very well above. Also, if you want to make sure the stinger does the damage you could make it penetrating or x2 penetrating. I once had to deal with a similar attack that had a mind control linked to it. As for the impregnation, a couple ideas come to mind. Transform: Non pregnant to pregnant. That one sounds kinda funny to me actually. Second, a summon with a delay on it. The summon would probably need to be a little more complicated than that depending on what all you want to do with it. I personally like the transform.
  11. Re: New at the rules. A Beam Rifle It really looks like you got the right idea. Also, the game actually has rules for beams in it. You should check those out and see if they fit what your trying to do.
  12. Re: Power Skill...How Do You Use It? I have often used it to simulate powers that I don't actually have. It was always ok as long as I didn't regularly use it to do the same thing. If I wanted to do the same thing all the time I would have to buy the power. I don't think I have ever actually used it to do the same thing more than once, and I don't make it a regular occurrence. That would be abusive. Ex: I used it to safe blind teleport somewhere across the city that was far out of my range. It was a place I was very familiar with so the GM had no problem with it. My character is based around "the dark dimension" kinda like hell or all the hells, or the warp in 40k, or primal chaos in amber. We were fighting another character who had similar powers from the same source. She had an aura around her that basically made total darkness. I used my power skill roll to manipulate the raw energy she was using and force the darkness back in on herself. Basically it's a dispel. I rolled very well on the power roll so I didn't actually have to roll any sort of dispel.
  13. Re: Power Suits Remote Assault Drones I would just buy them as followers. Build one and then for 10 more points you get all 4. Give them a mind link for the surveillance. Then if you want more of them later you can just spend 5 pts for up to 4 more.
