  1. Re: Post Apoc Setting Okay then, I have a good idea what people want so I'll create a sort of action plan. I'm going to work on this as if it were a book. I'll work on one Chapter a time as I throw it all together. The first Chapter is the history. It will first focus on one event that most people know. Then it breaks down into three parts. The history known through three separate cities in the world. Now, I know I'm being a bit of a tease as I've told hardly anyone anything about this idea. So I'll be nice and give you all a hint. Two hints actually. First Hint: Cancer will most definitely be able to figure out the second hint. Second Hint: R7/2012-K3 Rep to someone that can decipher the second hint.

  6. Last year there was a very successful run of the 12 Days of Christmas Project. This year, I'd like to do this again but hopefully get more involvement. This is your chance to provide a gift to the Hero Games community. The gift of write-ups. First you need to pick a theme. This can be anything you want it to be. Last year, I did Spy Gadgets for example. Then, once you know what theme you are going to do, make your 12 Day outline thread. If you click "Quote" on my subsequent post, you can copy and paste my format if you wish. Then, starting Dec 13th, post your write-up and edit your initial post to link to your write-up. As an added incentive, I also make sure to rep everyone who participates in the event. *You are not required to do a 12 Days of Christmas. It could be a Hanukkah or Count Down to 2007 Theme if you prefer. But the idea is the spirit of giving something everyday.

  8. Re: Post Apoc Setting When I designed this idea, I tried to include as many Post Apoc staples as possible. Magic was not one of them. However, that said, I can easily create a section on other surviving cities beyond the big three and have one of them as rumored to have magic users. The rumor would be up to the GM if it was legit or not. It is just throwing in a magic system on top of everything else I've added would turn it super campy.
  9. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I'm really... really tempted to give you negative rep for posting slash.
  10. Hero Games, as you know, is going to be releasing Post Apoc Hero around Gen Con of next year. I'm curious how interested people are in having a setting for the genre available to them. I ask, because I have a campaign setting I've been working on for quite some time now. The setting, at this point in time, is very extensively built. I have three "survival" cities that are unique in their own way. I have mutations including how they happen and how to calculate the effects. I have evil post-apoc monsters that make zombies look like a walk in the park. I have several other pleasant surprises on top of that. At this point, I have close to 40 pages of notes on this information. It would take me quite a bit of effort to type up all of the notes and get them to a presentable state. But, as I have felt lately, I'd rather know that people are interested in a post-apoc setting before I even begin on that.
  11. Re: Final Fantasy HERO Actually... Merging all Final Fantasy games on Ivalice would be a fun project now that I think about it. I know the races, I know the classes and powers, and the maps would be easy to reproduce.
  12. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I wish this was faked. But because it is real, it all the funnier. Man Tries to Rob Liquor Store

  16. Re: A Hundred and One Spells... Hmmm. I do have card stock paper. I haven't tried running it through the printer yet to see how that works. If it does, this could also be a workable idea.
  17. Re: A Hundred and One Spells... I think I'm going to do a sort of complex combination of my original idea and the index card method. Alice mentioned last night that Office Max has a binder with index card sleeves. We can pick one of those up and make a collection of Via spells. I think a single, shared pool of spells would be much better in the long run. I made the spreadsheet lastnight. I have 15 spells at the moment but I still have 28 unspent experience points. I'll likely have two or three more spells added fairly soon onto my character.
  18. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: the Russians are coming 2 Shadowcat, I love the work you are doing making all of these vehicles. It is really cool. Can I make a request though? Could you have one thread and just keep adding to the thread each time you make something new? I see two benefits to doing this. It gives a single thread to go to to find your vehicles. It also means less threads on the Other Genres forum. Again, keep up the good work.
  19. My character in Fantasy Hero has a lot of spells. It is reaching the point that reprinting the character sheet with spells is a huge waste of paper. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with characters with handling and organizing characters with a high number of spells. My thoughts on this is to make a version of my character without the spells on it. I'd use a custom power that indicates the total number of points spent on spells. Then, I'd make a spreadsheet that lists the name of the spell, END Cost, and key spell notes such as foci, duration, and casting time. Finally, I'd have a text document with a list of all of my spells written up into Hero format so that I can see the details if I need to. This would save both time and paper. If I want a new spell, I add it to the end of the text file and reprint the last page. On the character sheet, I can cross of total points on spells and write the new number. On the spreedsheet, I can write the new spell in the space on the list. I'd only reprint the spreadsheet, say, every three or four new spells I add. Anyone have another method they use that works?
