I'm kind of confused on the Block maneuver. Don't you either have to have a half-phase saved to use it, or abort to it if you want to use it. They way it's written up in the 5th edition it sounds like you can use it anytime you want.
I have to wholeheartedly agree with you. The Hero System is perfect for Gamma World. I can't wait to read the Post-Apocalyptic Hero book and begin a campaign. This looks like a great section of the forums that will help me tremendously.
Sounds good, RPMiller. I have been creating 150 point characters for my campaign and am finding it much more manageable then those 350 point superheros I was creating for a Champions campaign.
I was going to run a Champions campaign using Hero System 5th Edition, but after writing up some characters based on 350 points I have decided that it is way easier to run a Heroic campaign on less points instead. I am going to purchase Post-Apocalyptic Hero and run a post-apocalyptic game. This thread is going to be very helpful.
In the 5th Edition book, under the power limitation "requires a skill roll" is an example of a laser bazooka that has a PER Roll to "lock on" to the target successfully. It is written up in the text itself.
Maybe instead of a Morphing character, he could change his concept into a robot character that could do a lot of those things. Machine-Man comes to mind as a character with a lot of surprises up his sleeve. Maybe that player wouldn't mind changing to a robot or a cyborg type of concept that could do a lot of those things that he mentioned?
You guys are going to laugh, but one of my favorite super heroes is Matter-Eater Lad from the Legion of Superheroes. How would you create his power where he can eat ANYTHING?
Thanks, Marcus. I really love 5th Edition so far. I am reading both the original 5th Edition and the 5th Edition Revised to see what they updated. So far, I love both of them and really enjoy reading this system.
