  1. hi im working on a conversion of a fantasy game that shall remain nameless the problem i have is i need a skill (or ability) that would allow a PC to estimate the monetary value of goods/loot/ect. like an appraisal if you will. looking over the skills in 6E1 i cant find a "preset" skill that does that. would it be a Knowledge Skill, a Power or have i just missed something? any and all help/ideas/input would be greatly appreciated
  2. hey all. i was thinking of doing a dark fantasy/gothic horror game similar to the old Ravenloft setting. but the main problem im having is how to simulate/convert the concept of Fear Horror and Madness saves. i'd rather not add a Sanity stat, since imo madness should rarely be used. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions i would very much appreciate it. thanks

  4. its prolly been discussed before but how would i go about creating an ability for say a dragon that allows it to swallow an enemy whole? my gut says a form of entangle but beyond that im stumped. Could someone please drop some advice?
  5. Hey all, im creating a power armored villain. One of his powers is that he can "ball up" and roll, moving faster and doing damage as he goes. Also when he does this i though that it would be cool if he were simi-invincible. Think something like sonic the hedgehog crossed with transformers. But heres the problem... ive read the listings for all the involved powers, and such but am a little confused as to how i would pull this off. Heres what i've done thus far but im almost positive i've screwed my bad guy in some way Battle Roll: HA+4d6; Area of Effect (Trail; +1), Hand-to-Hand Attack (-1/4), OIF (armor; -1/2), Linked (-1/4), plus Running +20m; OIF (-1/2), Linked (-1/2), plus Physical & Energy Damage Reduction, Resistant, 50%; OIF (-1/2), Costs Endurance (-1/2), Linked (-1/2). By my math thats a cost of 54pts, and 10 END. PLEASE! let me know if ive made a mistake in this power or if anyone knows of a better way. Thanks in advance
  6. Hey all, i'm making a GM screen for my Champions game and i was wondering what are the most useful tables and such that people use for their own games. I've only run a few very small games in 6th ed. so i've really only sniffed the surface of the total game (i think...) So some suggestions would be helpful. Also if anyone has completed such a project for their own game, i'd love your advice cuz the less time i spend on this project is more time i can spend on gaming thanx, -frogboy7
  7. Re: How to build an Energy Drain power...? that was quick replies lol. and helpful too the END reserve idea sounds close to what i was thinking for the character. I think that it would fit with the origin story if he has to basically "recharge" his battery by draining from a electrical source such as power lines or even a power plant. But now i'm once again stuck... END reserve is defiantly the way to go her, but the limitation has me stymied; do i use a limitation such as "Only recovers in contact with Electrical sources"? or link it with an Absorption power? To... Many... Possibilities...! thanks
  8. Hey all. I'm building a character with electrical powers and the way i envision this toon is he can drain power from electrical sources. However, i'm at a complete loss as to how to build this power. Basically the character would drain END from say a generator or whatever and transfer it to his own reserves. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  9. Hey all. I'm creating a vampire hunter type hero and in his utility belt i thought he should carry vials of holy water. But as i went to write it up, i got stuck as to how i should represent the power. I think the Change Environment power would work here as the water would cover an area. Though i'm not sure how to make Change Environment affect something like Susceptibility to Holy whatever. And to further complicate things it occurred to me that Transform could also work, but it doesn't seem like a good fit to me. I hope someone here can help, since i am completely stuck Thanks all in advance
  10. Hi, I'm in the process of creating an NPC who is severely less than sane. Which complication would be most appropriate for a very troubled crazy? I'm thinking of illnesses such as severe schizophrenia or manic depressive. Any suggestions would be very helpful and if you could an example would be extremely helpful Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi all. Was wondering if anyone might be able to help with a power question? I'm still learning HERO System so forgive me if this sounds kind of weak. Here goes... I'm designing a warrior type with a magic weapon that allows a range of attacks. The one i'm having trouble with is a "Whirlwind Attack" that allows the character to spin around and hit all adjacent enemies. I'm looking at a HA or maybe a limited Blast but the advantages and disadvantages available for each seem to rule both out. Like i said i'm still new here so please take it easy on the new kid
  12. hi, i was just wondering how you'd make a weapon (or such) that grants Thor-like super powers? my idea was a multipower with such limitations as Only in Alternate Identity and OAF, but the sheer multitude of options is making my head spin I'd like a little help on this please. btw get well soon.
  13. Hi, i was designing a mage character with a magic multipower with the disadvantage Requires a Skill Roll and found that i had a couple questions about how it would play with other things. 1. If i buy combat skill levels for the multipower does the bonus apply to the Power (Magic) roll? 2. If i use the skill to cast an attack spell (ie Blast) do i still need to make an attack roll? Also, i wanted to give this character a familiar as a Follower. the familiar's main ability i want to portray is that of an Endurance Battery, with Aid. But i only want the familiar's Aid ability to be usable by the Mage. Would i use a Only Aid Others disadvantage or Limited Power of some sort to represent this? thanks for the help and cant wait for my copy of Champions 6th

Thanks for the great ideas all After taking all y'alls help into consideration (and modifying the original idea) came up with this power suite: Entangle 4d6/4 PD/4 ED, Reduced Endurance (Half END; +1/4), Concentration (0 DCV Throughout; -1), No Range, Unified Power (-1/4), plus… Drain BODY 3d6, Damage over Time (damage occurs every Round Entangle is maintained; +1), Reduced Endurance (Half END; +1/4), No Range (-1/2), Unified Power (-1/4) plus... Aid 3d6 (half to STR/half to BODY), Limited (only works on self; -1/4), Linked (-1/4), Unified Power (-1/4) Now I'm not entirely sure if this is a valid combo. Could someone check my work so to speak? Thanks again all
