I'm still tripping over Twitter and Facebook silencing the 4th largest newspaper in America three weeks before election day.
And blocking links to government websites.
    And blocking the press secretary.
    And some celebrities.
And some other government officials who talk about things they don't want talked about.

We are entering Cyberpunk territory here with a mega-corp deciding what information the government can and cannot share with the public.

There's some real propaganda going on (I tried using screen clips, but they're over the file size limit now?)
This (Time stamped to part where Washington post verifies that Biden didn't get a prosecutor fired)

Can't be reconciled with: (Biden on video bragging about getting the prosecutor fired by threatening to withhold 1 billion dollar loan.).

No, they control what the government can and cannot share with the public on their site. The government has vast resources and a multitude of ways to disseminate information besides Facebook.

Fred Rogers never talked down to anyone. He treated everyone with respect and compassion. He always told the truth, and didn't shy away from addressing difficult issues. No wonder this administration doesn't understand that that comparison is no insult.

I like to reuse names from Classic D&D modules: Flerd Trantle, Gleep Wurp the Eye Biter, and Fage the Kexy come to mind. Yes, those were some of the names of pregenerated characters.

One of my favorite DM/GM perks: I get to concoct completely off-the-wall names for my Non-Player Characters and the players have to say these names .

That those episodes will all involve the most dangerous device in the Federation malfunctioning.  Seriously, at this point shouldn't the average Federation citizen look upon a Holodeck-user the way we look at Tide Pod eaters?  We have 'Florida Man' memes, they'd have 'Holodeck Guy' memes.

What stretches my disbelief is the number times a member of the team says they hear or see something that no one else senses only to then be deemed mentally unstable. You'd think that after the first two separate occurrences of imperceptible phenomena that Stargate Command would learn to be a little more open-minded and not so quick to judge.

My question has always been this: There’s this whole thing about abortion. But no one is willing to step up with daycare. Or the cost of healthcare. Or defund the military by a few million — against its trillions — to rebuild our public school system. You can’t save the children then forget about them. It’s not about being Christian; it’s code for racism and suppression of women.

I freely admit to spit-balling here. The “war on Christianity” is all a giant gambit based on Roe v Wade; if we have abortions, then women may not have children unintentionally and thus may finish their education, get jobs, and do better than men. It’s way, way more complex than I’m explaining here, and gets into health care, day care, education, etc. But that’s “the gist.” It’s not actually Christianity, it’s about oppression.

Well, stress and despair have well established negative effects on personal health, so a positive outlook isn't useless... for individuals, in some cases. But believing that you won't get sick if you believe you won't is magical thinking -- and terribly dangerous if you try to apply it as a public health policy.

Well, if there was any evidence that the administration was "aggressively protecting the vulnerable" then maybe that would be a real strategy, even if I disagreed with it.

But the administration has put out a mandate that nursing homes have to test, without giving them money or testing kits. They haven't provided PPE sufficient for nursing homes or VA hospitals, much less more broadly.

The "vulnerable" in the US includes those who have heart conditions, asthma, other lung problems, diabetes, and who are old...according to the government.

I have asthma, a heart condition, diabetes, and am old. The government knows all of that because it is my healthcare insurance provider and I take medicine for all of that and it's on my medical information from my doctor which he has to send to them.

The government hasn't done a damned thing to try to protect me. Or even checked in on me to see if I'm protecting myself.

    Zip, nada, nothing.

The "vulnerable" in the US (who have heart conditions, asthma, other lung problems, diabetes, and who are old) are more than 100 million people (roughly a third of the population). To protect that number of people, there would have to be a massive governmental effort of some sort...and there isn't one.
