  1. Re: super (slight) hero online game. GM/players wanted! If I may ask, Do you plan to run this game using voice chat? While PBP and Text games can have good roleplay, the pace leaves much to be desired and the social atmosphere suffers. Ive found audio based games far more socially satisfying and the pace of the game is drastically quicker. The simple reason is, you can actually hear the other players emotions and it posses the natural cadence of conversation. I cant play in anything else, it's simply too slow. If so, I would be interested, and would wish to contact you via skype, aim, yim, or some other messanging service. We could speak via the forum and pm's if you really wish, but talking live is Far quicker. If not. I wish you luck with your campaign.
  2. Re: Online Champions games... anyone seen/played them? Quick question Epi, Will it be the same open draw (I.E. Freedom of character creation given to the players. rather then "Your all mutants, your all aliens, your all members of shield). I have a nice character ive been wanting to run in a supers game. (not a crappy one like chitin, I think im done with that idea until im a much better roleplayer.) but he requires a rather open setting. Having a localized game wouldn't hurt either (IE less globe trotting, more staying in/around millennium city. I never liked justice league style games, It feels so impersonal and heartless to hover above everything else. Never interacting with the community nor getting to see the charges and difference your making. You just march from Honor tower every-time doctor destroyer threatens the world Yet again, then go back to your pit of solitude until next session.)
  3. Re: Online VOIP game (Interest Check) Ill be up for that, Ive reconsidered how to play a character in a supers game and will not repeat chitin. I have something far better, more cohesive and party friendly in mind.
  4. Re: Online VOIP game (Interest Check) Me of course.
  5. Re: Online VOIP game (Interest Check) I figure it would take a amount of time, but provided enough of an interested group is assembled and the thread is either discussed or present long enough. A gm shall come eventually :-)
  6. Re: Online VOIP game (Interest Check) You know, a thought. I'd be quite helpfull to both voice and text games is there was some kind of public hero macro board. May help non-programming gm's significantly, or atleast cut the workload. Share macro's, develop them, etc.
  7. Re: Online VOIP game (Interest Check) Oh yeah, that's right. I remember clearly now, Those where some bad technical issues :-( (As for my preference's as a Player, I'd prefer super's but may play something else if it's good. I also strongly prefer roleplay, investigation and interaction to combat grind fest.)
  8. I love the hero's system, I love supers game's, I also love the fast paced, social nature of VOIP gaming. There are millions of other nerd's out there. So hear me out my fellow heroites. I can not GM a game myself, or rather I am not confident in my abilities to deliver a quality game. but I figure I can not be the only one interested in both gaming voip and hero system. If there is enough interest, and a little bit of patience, a campaign will emerge from the ether. The last time I made one of these a game got off the ground, then ended due to the gm having work issues or some such. Now, let's get cracking.
  9. Re: Champions! Voip/skype game. Interesting idea. My main issue is the "pace" of text and pbp games. I love supplementing "live" role play with them in between games. but unless there is a weekly voice session, it's just too slow for me to keep engaged and excited.
  10. Just recently, the only hero system 6th supers game that used voice I was in colappsed. You see, I love the champions setting, I like the system, I like 6th edition, I like roleplay and narrative and abit of action. The only problem is, I hate text based games. They are to slow paced, and it's very hard to get the action going when it takes minuites to respond. So with that in mind, Anyone up for a skype or voip based hero system game? While I cant gm it myself ( I have dabbled, I lack to the skill to execute a good game or campaign.) Im hoping enough people of like interests may attract a gm.
  11. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? My character will either be abit of an odd take on the striker, or a psychic.
  12. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? Hey Epi Ill be sending messages to you on hero exclusively, Unfortunately Your email service hates mine :-/ (Also, If you could hop on skype briefly so we may chat, that would be awesome. But if you dont wanna we can just send pm's back and forth. Live chatting is just so much faster)
  13. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? Im curious Epi. What is your contact info (skype/email/aim/yim/msn messanger etc) If you are formulating a game i'd be nice to get in touch in a manner that is friendly to back and forth, or atleast more timely than a forum. :-)
  14. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? I like what you've put forward so far, and I have several character's ready for that kind of game (Ive been in more than one supers game that went "poof!") -I tend to "Recycle" character's if I feel they haven't been "played out", and none of mine have due to every game dying shortly after birth. as for the code against killing, im cool with that, but I must ask your intended "tone". For one thing, I dislike it when games get too dark, It's good to have an element of realism, but when the closest thing to a hero makes the punisher wince and back off. The game isnt fun. Super hero'es are heroes. On the other hand, If the world is all happy and shiny, all the character's are perfect paragons, and nobody ever dies, get's hurt, and the heroes Always win. I feel like im in a sterilized kiddie pool deep in candyland. Sometimes, the good people dont win, sometimes, good people get hurt, or killed. Strife can make good roleplay. I guess the best way i'd put it, is I prefer a semi-realistic tone, rather than the outright nihilism of darker comics, or the almost childish idealistic portrayal of deep four colour. What will be the tone for the game?
  15. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? I have a particular character ive been trying to play, but every supers game ive used him in, the gm quit before session 5. Which is a pain because the intention of the character is to "Grow up" and change overtime, and that's hard to do when the gm has to goto college, or get's frustrated because they brought in too many players and quits.
