  1. Re: Lucha Libre Hero Plot Threads I got my copy on Amazon a few years ago. It's even cheaper now. The lucha libre section of the All Flesh Must Be Eaten supplement, Zombie Smackdown, has a pretty cool sounding campaign. The luchador champion, Muerte, is a descendant of a dark Aztec cult that wants to liberate Mexico. He lures/kidnaps luchadores, perform a special heart-stealing ritual with his fellow cultists, and turns the luchadors into zombies. These fast/smart zombies can create mindless classic zombies. The Japanese harcore wrestling campaign (involving a demon trapped by priests) could work in a lucha libre game too. Heck, that book is full of hooks for a lucha libre games.
  2. Re: Stooge-jitsu Anybody remember what the other "silly martial arts" were?
  3. Re: Lucha Libre Hero Plot Threads My bad, I guess I should have re-read the plot seeds in the book before the book. Won't happen again.
  4. Re: Stooge-jitsu I'm thinking that if I can ever get a Lucha Libre Hero game off the ground that the comic sidekick must have this.
  5. Re: The PCs are Villians - Which Villians? Sort of like Martian Manhunter did during Salvation Run.
  6. Re: You Could Only Hear It During The Darkwalkers Wow... That's amazingly wrong, yet so right...
  7. Re: Best ways to put together a Dark Champions team? I've ran something similiar to ideas mentioned. The characters all have a link to an existing vigilante or member of his rogues' gallery. The vigilante goes missing and his protege brings the heroes together because of their connection. (I ran this once using Dark Champions rules, though I used established characters [batman was the missing vigilante]).
  8. Re: Lucha Libre Hero Plot Threads I'll add a couple (based on the two Lucha related movies I own, Wrestlemaniac and Enter...Zombie King aka Zombie Beach Party). 1. The characters are traveling and decide to take a short cut. There vehicle breaks down (or rather is sabatoged). The luchador's are being stalked by El Mascarado, a genetically bred luchador that was two vicious for the ring. This plot works best if you add a mad scientist (perhaps a surviving member of the group that created El Mascarado) and some victims/normals to save (perhaps someone else who's happened to take the same shortcut when their van broke down). 2. An outcast luchador is wrestling zombies in back alley matches. Suddenly cannabilistic attacks begin to occur. The luchador says his zombies are "tame" and didn't cause the killings. Can the heroes trust him?
  9. Re: The PCs are Villians - Which Villians? Which isn't really a bad thing. I normally stick to your typical heroic characters, but something along the vein of Suicide Squad could be a lot of fun with the right group.
  10. Re: Horror Setting? I'm glad to see that "Horror World" is available to everyone, it was one of my favorite worlds in Champions in 3-D.
  11. Re: Worst Hero Names (of your campaigns) My friend played an alien martial artist named, Harcourte (the "te" was silent). He eventually stopped playing him because we always made jokes about how "hardcore" he was. It makes him made to this day when we bring it up (and the character was played probably 10 years ago). Another of the worst names is actually the name of an interesting npc I made. He's a former Soviet super, codenamed, the Marxman. He was an expert sniper, though he prefered to use a bow.
  12. Re: The PCs are Villians - Which Villians? Because they're not just heartless villains, I like the idea of using GRAB. However, they are a primarily female group and some male players get weirded out with the idea of playing a woman (even for a demo), so I'd add a few more male mercenary types to the team. Armadillo, Brainchild, and Thunderbolt II come to mind. Also, there are a few games I've played that were long term villain games. One was Necessary Evil, but then again it's a villains fighting evil space invaders, so it's a bit different. Also, a Flash's rogues style villains game could work long term (which is also why I chose GRAB).
  13. Re: Lucha Libre? I'm in a similiar boat to Pól Ruadh. I have Luche Libre Hero (it was actually the first Hero System book I bought), but not a big enough group to play. I've got one friend that's interested, but the others are just sort of "meh..." on the whole idea. This is why I'm going to incorporate a few Lucha-based heroes and villains in my next Champions game.
