  1. Re: Has anyone ever done the Tomorrow People in Hero rules?

In the Big Finish audio books John has become so adept at telekinesis that he can missile deflect rounds from a machine gun. Also, one member of the Tomorrow People looses an arm. They give him with a cybernetic arm, while they grow a new clone arm to replace it (which takes several weeks to grow), so that's a new technology.

In one Big Finish book one of the Tomorrow People goes crazy and is able to kill people. Seems that their prohibition to killing can be overridden by insanity.

  2. Re: What's the best way to build an AI with a hard light hologram

That's another of the inconsistancies of Red Dwarf writing. In early episodes with the Hard Light drive Rimmer was invulnerable to harm, but he could only become hard light if he had access to a power source, so it had a limited duration. Later on they make him vulnerable to javing his light bee damaged, despite being hard light.

  3. Re: What's the best way to build an AI with a hard light hologram

Neat build, but no sane GM in a standard Champions campaign would ever approve such a build.

If the ship is miles away etc, how will the character ever interact in a way beyond just talking to something.

That's actually more realistic, because it limits the range of the character's movement to the range of the powers around the ship. If the group passes beyond that point, the character couldn't go any farther. If the ship is stolen, the character goes with it. If the ship is destroyed, the character dies.

Of course that's not how it is played on Red Dwarf, where they always seem to come up with some reason in later episodes... In early episodes Rimmer could only travel outside the ship in a hologram cage. Later they invented the idea of a "light bee", a tiny portable projector that was flying around projecting Rimmer.

If you want to skip the ship, and go with the light bee option, make the character the bee. The character has no hands, low level flight, is permanently shrunken to about an inch in height. He would be an AI machine tecnnically, so he would have lots of Life Support. Give him the ability of Images that can only be used to create his self-image at no range. Technically he could have a STR of 1 or so just to push a button or somesuch, by hitting it with his light bee. He couldn't pass through solid matter, like a wall, but he could pass through anything with an opening large enough for the bee to fly through.

Adding the Hard Light option would activate armor and short range TK or some STR.

  4. I decided to start one thread to keep all the Beast Wars related character sheets. Feedback and submissions welcome.

As yo may know already, the Beast Wars started as a toy line with a large cast of character, but when they made it into a CG animated series, they limited the show to a few main characters for budget and time concerns. Beast Wars also has 3 followup TV series (1 in the US, 2 others in Japan), so I seperated the characters into what series they appeared in...

  5. Re: World with superheroes - Only one power set?

i played in a game once where we had a variety of powers, but we dimensional traveled into a world were all the supers were flying brick types, MASSIVE bricks. subtle powers like mind powers and shapeshifting were unknown. I was a shapeshifter and my friend a mentalist. We had to survive, and get back our traveling machine in a world where most supers could snap us in half, but no one had heard of shapeshifting. I often ended up turning into either a civilian who would manipulate a hero's ego into doing work for me, or if no supers were around, I'd turn into one of the big brick heroes tell the "citizens" to "stand aside... Clear the room! This looks like a job for..." and get them to leave me alone with the device I had to steal to get back home.

  6. Re: Character: Optimus Prime (from Transformers: Prime)

They wouldn't be identical' date=' that's kind of the point. They differ significantly enough that I think it's warranted.[/quote']

They would have identical stats besides running, identical skills, identical powers (growth, armor, Life support), identical limitations besides lacking hands. Not that different.

I just cover with with Shape Shifting, extra running that only works in shifter mode, weapons that only work in robot mode, and a physical limitation that he has no hands in shifted mode. Easy as pie.

I do make seperate writeups for combiners. Characters who change size might warrant a Multiform, but you have to remember that sometimes those with shrunken alt modes don't change their size... Occasionally Megatron is a giant gun, or Soundwave is a giant tape recorder.

I write up drones as duplications, Targetmasters are partners.

Depending on the concept you use I could see a Multiform for Headmasters and Powermasters. Turns from one robot to a vehicle and a little partner.

If someone wants to write up a Transformer with two character sheets for two forms, I'd like to see it.

But' date=' the 80s Optimus is the only true Optimus.[/quote']

    Already did that version...

  7. Re: Has anyone built The Doctor from Doctor Who?

The "Regeneration" could be regen, 12 non recoverable charges, trigger (1 body from death), linked to uncontrolled shapeshift. So when he gets to nearly dead, he recovers and looks different. Do any of the doctors really have characteristic? Or are those just quirks?

  8. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books?

    402 - Mind Games

p17, Mind Slayer's Multipower really only needs a 78 point reserve, not 80 points, as she only has two Ultra powers and the highest one is only 78 points. She could put her telekinetic Flight into her Elemental Control. She should have DF "Detects as a mutant" for 10 points.

p24, Torment's first Ego Attack should cost 40 points, not 45.

p26, Omega's description says he has a variety of grenades, including blinding grenades, but the writeup itself just lists 2 Psiphon grenades, nothing else. Meanwhile all the other members of PSI have flash defense equipment, I'd guess to make his teammates immune to his ability to blind opponments.

  9. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books?

    425 - VIPER

p90, Pack Master's Mind Link shouldn't be part of her EC, but the point value is correct. Her Aikido Martial Arts should only cost 15 points, not 16. Her Invisibility should only cost 2 END to use, not 3. Her Science Skill of Psychology should be 14-, not 12-. She should have Distinctive Features "Detects as a mutant".
