  1. Dr. A. Zerstoiten (though they should only know him as Dr Z for a while) What? He's a hero. Just ask him.
  2. Kickstarter? DriveThruRPG? Other? Definitely interested.

    Brick tricks

Absolutely. Naked Advantage wouldn't bother me, just not in a MP.

Personally I wouldn't allow it as a GM. If a player wanted 2 different attacks with either autofire or extra knockback in a MultiPower I'd require they build them as Energy Blasts with said advantages. But as Pattern Ghost said, varies by GM.
  5. If someone grabbed the hand while it was separated, would it still function after 16 hours or would it run out of power and need to recharge? If so then it sleeps. If kept separated for days would it continue to slow until it eventually stopped? Then it eats; don't pay for those. And unless the hero is completely immune to all environments no reason the hand has to be. Yes it can be mind controlled but only by opponents who can affect a Machine-class mind. It's small but probably not terribly fast. With just a couple fingers not very high manual dexterity. Not as much leverage to use its strength. Seems like it should have lower stats than the main character. Should have some definite physical limitations. Probably doesn't know everything the character knows so limited on skills. If you can afford a Mind Link and Clarisentience then the character could direct the hand and still be much, much more limited if unable to communicate with the character. What are some other things you want it to be able to do? If it were a 150 point Summon or Duplication with Side Effect (always occurs, character suffers Physical Limitation: Missing Hand) -1/2 and 1 Charge (recoverable) -1 1/4, it's only 11 points. I think charge makes sense since not like you can make another hand without a LOT of effort.
  6. It sounds like the hand becomes its own character for the duration. What about building as a Summons with side effect of character loosing their hand while separated?
  7. I have wanted to find these for so long. <--- One happy camper right now.
  8. I will be soooo disappointed if this isn't what I hope it is.
  9. Champions Complete pdf is available in the store right here for only $20. Champions: The Super Roleplaying Game requires you own the basic player/GM books. You want Champions Complete.
  10. Yes, need more of the old adventures in PDF. Zodiac Conspiracy and Day of the Destroyer to start.

We really should form a group to stat out all the various characters mentioned in the Hero books but never detailed. Sure GMs can do their own but would be nice to have a set to grab from.
  12. I'd like to pit my 6 players against a large hoard of opponents; something reminiscent of the Avengers holding back wave after wave of Ultrons in their last movie. Are there any mass combat rules I can look to to help manage such a large-scale battle? Anyone else ever ran this kind of scenario? What worked and what didn't?
  13. Gravitar from Champions Villains vol 1 has a similar power: Altered Gravity Field: Flight 26m Usable As Attack (does not affect anyone with Desolidification, Power Defense, or gravity-manipulation abilities; +1¼), Ranged (+½), Area Of Effect (16m Radius Selective; +1) Perhaps to create a field that lingers use something like this; anyone entering floats straight upwards: Reverse Gravity Field: Flight 2m, Ranged (+1/2), No Gravity Penalty (+1/2), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Uncontrolled (Set effect, straight up; +1/2), Area Of Effect (16m Radius; +3/4), Time Limit (5 Minutes; +3/4), Usable As Attack (Defense is Density Increase, Desolidification, Power Defense, or gravity-manipulation abilities, grabbing something will prevent further upwards movement but not negate unless character can be pulled outside radius of field; +1 1/4) (11 Active Points) Add Increase Mass advantage a few times to boot to lift heavy inanimate objects too. To be honest, I don't really see how Power Defense would resist this so I'd probably skip that one.
  14. Aaand literally the topic right after this has all the answers I've been looking for. Awesome
  15. I was looking for similar info recently; never even found a membership list for New Knights let alone actual character writeups.

  17. Re: Disads for "Cheese Champions!" One of the guys I played with years ago had a comedy character named Ninja Beaver. Every time he walked through a doorway a 7-11 Big Gulp spontaneously appeared in his hand. He was pretty easy to track inside a building. Half the time you found him in the bathroom anyway. I don't know if that was written up as a DF disadvantage or just a Change Environment.
  18. Re: Help with an odd Time Power It should then be a Summons causing various members of the Star Trek franchise to spontaneously appear to study the large about of tachyon radiation produced (or this could simply be a side-effect, your choice)
  19. Re: My Ferris Bueller Writeup. Um, yeah, that's what I said. No, I know I wrote Porche but I distinctly remember saying Ferrari. Honest. Darn lack of voice recognition software!
  20. Re: My Ferris Bueller Writeup. Doesn't Seduction cover just plain getting along with others? Almost the only people he didn't get along with were those hunting him. I'm thinking Seduction 15- (so he failed his roll with the guy at the restaurant). Cameron had usedful skills? Cause if you're just counting the car, he didn't have it any more by the end of the movie. I always liked the way that the camera did a slow zoom in on him after he had decided to take the wrap for the Porche getting totalled. I always imagined Ferris' voice adding, "We never saw Cameron again. We presume his father sank his body in one of the Great Lakes."
  21. Re: Flight Limitation... nm, I misread the original post, sounds like the advantage David mentions covers what you're looking for. Only thing that confuses me is that you mentioned just to duplicate Running/Swimming. Are you looking for a height limitation? There's always the -1/4 On Surface Only but that gets confusing with the Swimming since you'd want him to be able to go under the surface. If so, I'd just add a -0 No Higher Than X" Above Surface/Ground limitation (-0 since it's actually less restrictive than On Surface Only). This way he can do something like rise up on a water spout a few inches but couldn't go flying off to 30,000ft.
  22. Re: COH/COV conversions I'm thinking damage types are divided up as: Lethal dmg = resistant defense in HERO Smashing dmg = normal defense in HERO Toggle - power must be activated, costs endurance to maintain Auto - power is always on, no end cost Otherwise, it's a normal, instant power with possible short-term effects (ie: Earth's Embrace that increases hit points for a short time) Power side effects: -Speed - this actually seems to refer to movement in CoX so I'm thinking a side effect: drain all movement powers -Recharge - this effects how quickly powers can be used again, a side effect: drain Speed would accomplish this but used in conjunction with the -Speed side effect might be overkill on movement Stone Armor Power Set (taken from the CoH planner utility): Rock Armor - toggle - Defense (Lethal, Smashing) - I'd call this FF Stone Skin - auto - Resistance (Lethal, Smashing) - Either Armor or Resistant Defenses Earth's Embrace - +Hit Points, Resistance (Toxic) - Aid to Stun, maybe Body, not sure whether to bother with the toxic unless consider it power defense Mud Pots - toggle - Player Based AoE attack, Foe Immobilize, -Speed (self) - say a small AoE EB, constant, linked with AoE drain on all movement powers, side effect self movement drain Rooted - toggle - Resistance (Knockback, Sleep, Disorient, Hold), -Speed (self), +Regeneration - mental def, kb resistance, con to prevent stun only, str only for casual str to resist entangles, +recovery with side effect of self movement drain, limitation only on ground (ie: no flying/leaping/swinging, just running, flight on surface only, etc. presumably swimming is okay if character doesn't just sink like a rock) Brimstone Armor - toggle - Resistance (Fire, Cold) - FF or Damage Reduction(costs end) only vs Fire/Cold Crystal Armor - toggle - Defense (Energy, Negative) - DCV only vs energy attacks, cost endurance Mineral Armor - toggle - Defense (Psionic) - ECV, costs endurance Granite Armor - toggle - Resistance (all but Psionic), Defense (all but Psionic), -Speed, -Recharge, -Dmg - stronger FF and higher DCV than previous powers, self speed drain, self movement powers, self drain all attack powers (better be a damn strong FF/DCV to justify all that), limitation cannot be used at same time as all other defenses in this set, limitation only on ground
  23. Re: COH/COV conversions What's everyone's thoughts on Resistance/Defense conversion from CoX to HERO? If the CoX power provides Resistance would you use Armor or FF but for a Defense power simply purchase DCV levels? I'm thinking of the Stone Armor power set specifically (my main was a Stone/Super Str Tank).
