1. Re: PRE Attack Questions Thanks for that run down but here is another question. On 6E2 page 137 under "attack equal to presence" it says "If the total on the Presence Attack dice at least equals the target's PRE, the target is impressed. He hesitates enough so that the attacker may act before him that Phase." This makes it sound like if you have 2 people both acting on say phase 7 they get to do the PRE attacks before they do anything else. If someone wins he can go first even if he has a lower dex. This is how it looks to me when I read this. That is why I am trying to find out the rules for starting a PRE attack and if they cost you an action or not to do.
2. SO I was wondering hwo exactly do PRE attacks work? Does it use up an action or are these automatic things people can do each phase?
3. Ok so working with another player to make his character for our game. The idea for the character is he is a russian who is able to use a sort of techno magic to summon these different guns. The different guns have different abilities and shots, one for AE, one of RKA, one to effect desolified people etc. MOST of these guns take him a full phase to summon but (Gestures, incantations and requires extra time, full phase, only to activate) but once he has them summoned he will just pay the endurance cost every phase even if he does not fire the gun. So we think we have all the modifiers right for the effects we wanted but wanted to see if our thoughts were square with the rules. (character not 100% finished still need complications)
4. Are there any quick reference sheets I can print out for 6th edition? Looking for ones to make it easyer for both players and GM's. That way we do not have to keep looking stuff up in the book for things like Damage Classes etc and combat modifiers.
5. Re: What is the advantage of buying Combat Skill Levels vs OCV? Can you split it up? Mean put some into OCV and some into DCV?
6. Re: What is the advantage of buying Combat Skill Levels vs OCV? CSL can be added to your DCV also? Is this a one or the other type of thing? Or in the case of a maneuver such as "Defensive Shot" which gives -1 OCV and +2 DCV, if I use that maneuver with an attack that can use a +2 CSL would that mean the maneuver adds 2 to both the DCV AND OCV or how would it work?
7. So was just curious if there was an advantage to buying CSL's vs OCV levels. In my case it would be used for a multi power and after reading in the book it would end up being for a large group of attacks (more than 3 different attacks in the multi power) so would cost 5pts per rank the same as if I was buying OCV.
8. Re: How would you do a copycat power? I kindof like that idea. Right now the character has a detect power that has descriminatory, analize, range, sense and increased arc of view (360 degrees) with aroll of 16-. With it being a sense it works like any other perception check per say but just allows him to detect super powers and know what they are/can do. (It is defined as a class of things, though I wonder if I should up it to a large class of things to be fair. Only 5pt difference though) I was going to play it as since he can not only detect someone with super powers but he can determine what kind and analize how the target uses them he would be able to do the same. But the idea of maybe giving him a skill with using his powers and requireing a roll brings up an interesting point. I might have to think on this one.
9. Working on a Variable power pool character who is able to mimic other people's powers when he is around them. The character is a 400pt character and his only abilities are a 200pt VPP (with a max of 100pts on any one power) and a sense ability to detect what peoples powers are. Now here is the question. how would that work with someone who has duplication? Lets just go with the basic duplication power on a 400pt build which would cost him 80pts Now would his duplicate loose those 80pts from its VPP because it is taken up? or would the duplicates have the full VPP. This toon is part of a villian team to go up against the players and one of the players has the duplication power so I am trying to figure out how to work it before they encounter him.
10. Re: How would you do a copycat power? 1 Can copy any power that is non tech based. 2. The ability to copy them only lasts a few minutes at most after he leaves the presence of the person he copyed them from. 3. No effect on the other person, he is not stealing the powers he is just a sort of mimic. I am a Chuck tv show fan and was thinking of something where the character has a sense ability to be able to tell what other peoples powers are then can activate his own power to "flash" and copy their abilities.
11. So was just wondering how you would end up doing a copycat type character? Someone who can copy other peoples powers and abilities. (to a certan extent). Going up against the bad guy who has a lot of telekinetic powers and you copy those same powers and use them against the villian.
12. Re: Teleportation Power Ideas? Yeah I thought about using blast and area effect to simulate teleporting in and hitting everyone in the area and teleporting back. But instead I went with blast and autofire ability. Makes it so I can choose to hit the same target multipul times or many different targets.
13. So I was thinking of designing a character that was based around being lucky I was wondering about the Deflection power. Idea was: Deflection, Persistant(+1/4), Constant(+1/2), Reduced Endurance (0 END, +1/2), Trigger (activating the Trigger is an action that takes no time, Trigger resets automatically, immediately after it activates; Whenever he is attacked; +1) (65 Active Points) Basicly attacks would fizzle, or something would happen to cause them to miss and it would do this automaticly. All he would need to do is make a roll vs every attack to see if it works. Would this be a viable power as I have it now? Also if I were to add say Area Effect to it would it allow me to protect myself against AE stuff also?
14. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! LoL tbh no idea. I just had this idea for a villian to mess with players, both in game and out of game. To make the players think about their actions. I did not read all 43 pages of this topic I just wanted to throw out a villian idea for people to use if they wanted.
15. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! I had an idea for a villian, a 10 year old little girl with mental powers. She may have the body and mind (mostly) of a 10 year old but she is not nice. She controlls others to make them do what she wants. In fact if a hero team encounters her it is most likely with a dozen or so normal people around her trying to protect their best friend. (Watch the players work at trying not to hurt the normal civilians.) I call her Little Cindy. She is not hard to hurt when you hit her but the problem would be that she has her "protectors" who are more than willing to step in front of her to block any danger and take a bullet for her.
