Beast reacted to Khymeria in Next BLANK Hero RPG Book...
I am biased to anything I’m working on of course, and hope whatever that is, I do it justice. That being said, of these I love Horror and would love to see a more investigative style supplement.

Beast got a reaction from Lord Liaden in 6th Ed. Alien Exo-Skeleton/Power Armor Build
Ok, let's try this
1 can the robot pass for human?(without the armor)
2 did it build the armor or does it have the skills to mod the armor?
3 what job was the robot built for?
4 why does it need a suit of armor to improve it?
5 why or how did it end up on Champions earth?

If you don’t include a Resurrection power with a Gesture of putting thumb in mouth and blowing themselves back up i will be sad.

Beast got a reaction from Grailknight in 6th Ed. Alien Exo-Skeleton/Power Armor Build
I'd go with a Computer Follower(perks)
as the "Man in the Chair" assisting the PC with added skills
Can the alien sentience take over the armor if the character is knocked out?
if so then I would add a multiform where the armor is a robot character with defenses and LS Usable Simultaneously to protect the KO'ed character
then the suit does more to get the character to safety, than continue the fight

You might want to look over this thread Invisibility to Detect

a quote from Pheonix Command
"If you cannot dazzle them with style, riddle them with bullets"
makes everybody on Earth detect as a mutant
Spoofing Mutant detectors: Change Environment (-10 to Detect PER Rolls), Area Of Effect (2m Radius; +1/4), MegaScale (1m = 10,000 km; +2), Cannot alter scale (-1/4) (60 Active Points); IIF Immobile (-1 1/4), No Range (-1/2)

Ok. The powers involved.
Detect Mutation: Your bread and butter for a mutant game. The villains will definitely have this. The heros will probably have this also (it is a part of what is Cerebro after all). Both sides will find it useful. Both sides are suspectable to false positives and wrong readings.
Invisible to Detect Mutant: It is a cheap way of not being detectable, especially when you can either turn the power on and off at will. If it is "always on", then just don't buy Distinctive Features: Mutant.
Darkness VS Detect Mutant: It may actually cause more problems then it is worth. One, it is like Invisible to Detect Mutant on an area. Second, people will get wise if they spot beings they know are mutants but are not showing up on the detector.
Images vs Detect Mutant: Gives false positive readings. Confuse all the mutant hunting robots.

I think Darkness VS Detect Mutant would be more interesting.

Excuse me but generally, isn't mutant detection equipment generally keyed to detect the 5-point Distinctive Features: Mutant (Not Concealable; Noticed and Recognizable; Detectable Only By Technology Or Major Effort)?
If a person doesn't buy the DF, they aren't detected as a mutant. The presence of the powers by themselves isn't inherently detected as a mutant SFX. You don't need to buy Invisibility to Detect Mutant for that reason unless your Gamemaster is treating being detected as a mutant as part of the default treatment of the campaign.

Beast reacted to Shiva13 in My Champions 4th Edition era collection
It's almost complete. I just got a shipment today of nearly all of the books I didn't have. And I just ordered today the final book that I didn't yet own. It should be here in a week or so.
Horror Hero
Hudson City Blues
S.H.A.D.O.W. Over Scotland
Watchers Of The Dragon
I got those today. The next one coming is Justice, Not Law

Beast got a reaction from Steve in Starting Spider-Man = Teen Champion?
he works as a teen(300pts)
and normal super (400pts+)
or as a veteran(500+)
it really just depends on the game
-
Beast reacted to Grailknight in Starting Spider-Man = Teen Champion?
Somewhere in between.
He had the strength and agility to dominate those normal foes but was far more conscious of hurting them than they were of him.
Ultimate Spider-Man didn't want to go through the years of character progression and stressed the difference between him and normals much faster. He wasn't really more powerful but they didn't want to tell the same stories, so the difference was highlighted.

One use I could foresee would be as sleeper agents. If they have programmed directives beyond hiding their true nature, reproducing and infecting more humans, quite a bit of intrigue could be built up.

You remind me of someone on an archaeological dig, carefully unearthing a burial ground, who finds an unopened tomb.

was on the 2016 KS for Strike Force
and will most likely get this too

Beast reacted to AlHazred in Hero System Article Index
A while back, I worked up an article index for the Chaosium Pendragon game. This isn't to index all relevant material that has ever shown up online; that would be a monumental and fruitless task. It was mainly to index articles in old print and PDF periodicals, which aren't always well-documented in RPGGeek. After I completed it, it occurred to me that Champions/Hero System also has not-that-many articles that have ever shown up in magazines -- there were a huge number of online resources from the very beginning (starting with and including the Red October BBS), and so I guess a lot of people were looking there for their resources. Still, there are more than Pendragon, and I used to have subsciptions to Adventurer's Club, EZ Hero, and Digital Hero, so I've got those to go off of.
I've started the list here. I've got quite a ways to go, and I have no idea where to find some of the resources. Haymaker! has compilations available on DTRPG, but I love old APAzines (they're basically the Web forums before the Web existed) and even if I did, indexing them would take ages.
Suggestions welcome.

Beast reacted to Susano in Strike Force Organizations
Okay, I have run The Blood through Google Docs to edit the content and fix errors. The final word count is 34,142 words. This puts the project at 50,091 words so far.

how about that! It took sixty-odd years, but I finally found a place where I'm the _subtle_ one!

I don't care how long it is as long as it is affordable in price.

Another old fogy here, and Ball and Arnaz's company was the first thing I thought of, too.
In fact, given the median age of this community, I think that will come to mind a lot. 👴👵

I'm here for this. I'll watch this thread and make irrelevant comments until I have to throw money at it. Then I'll throw money at it.

Beast reacted to Christopher R Taylor in Knock over a tree
I would probably approach this as the tree using STR to hold on to the ground, and the character trying to use STR to pull it up. So you could just do a simple formula, like 5 STR per meter of height gripping strength with the roots, and its a simple STR vs STR contest. That makes an apple tree of around 7 meters have 35 STR to hold on to the ground, and a sequoia of 92m have 460 STR. Mind you the Hulk could probably rip up a redwood and beat you over the head with it in the comics, so there probably should be a cap of some sort to make it possible to emulate the comics.
