I moved to Arizona from California in 1998 to pursue a job in law enforcement. I've been playing RPG's for over thirty years. The Hero system is my all time favorite in RPGs (though I admit, I will dabble with other systems).

  1. It seems that nature uses the Hero System character creation rules. Who knew? Lol https://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-discover-pure-math-is-written-into-evolutionary-genetics
  2. Thank you, Simon, that was definitely the problem. I recently started connecting my laptop to another monitor when at home. After your post, I connected my laptop to the monitor and sure enough, click selections were popping up there. It is all fixed now. Much appreciated.
  3. So after a bit more tinkering, it turns out I can edit elements involving manual entries like characteristics, background information, basic configuration entries (experience points), and such. It is when I try to edit or select powers, skills, martial arts and anything else requiring me to click to open up is when HD locks up. Yup, I'm definitely puzzled (and a bit frustrated).
  4. I recently started to have a problem with HD freezing up on me. I can open HD just fine (along with any character file I created) but as soon as I attempt to edit a character, it locks up. When I attempt anything, I only get the dreaded "ding" sound. I can't even get out of HD unless I go to the task manager and use the end task button (while highlighting Java). I've tried a couple of things; updating to the most current HD file and install the latest version of Java, which turns out I had already done some time ago. This is a recent problem so I'm not sure if it is Java. The most recent thing I have done was purchase the Champions Powers HD pack. I've used some of the built in prefabs for some characters but I wouldn't think that would be the problem (though the issue started shortly after installing the prefabs). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  5. So I think I resolved my problem by accessing the prefabs in the file called "Champions Powers HD Files ƒ". That being the case, I am now confused as to what the "PHDFiles" is and what do I do with it. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. 😊
  6. Hi Spence. I recently purchased Champions Powers Character Pack and, like Trooper, cannot access the prefabs (not sure if he resolved his problem). After purchase, I see something called "PHDFiles" (along with the recent corrections docs and prefabs) and the file type is simply listed as "File." I'm guessing this is the item your saying needs to be placed in a location. If so, I did that. After firing up Hero Designer and trying to load it under Prefabs, its not seeing the file. Can you please provide more guidance on what I'm doing wrong? I placed it in a folder titled Prefabs. Thank you in advance.
  7. We are so close to the hardback stretch goal...I'm starting to stress here! Lol! Let's git her done!
  8. Nice! This is intriguing to say the least and I'm looking forward to see what you have in store for the heroes.
  9. We have full color goodness! I'm doing the happy dance as I type this!
  10. So close to the color stretch goal. Soooooo close... :-)
  11. You have to senslessy gesture too. That works all the time.
  12. Nice, except that looks more Japanenglish than Spanglish. :-)
  13. Tiger, I gotta give you credit for not putting an O at the end of an English word and calling it Spanish! Trust me, I've seen it. Ha ha ha!
