When I calmed, realizing this was a bit treasonous, I went over in some wild attempt to take some of the enemy with me in death (oddly they were mostly orcs) Seems as I died things got rebooted to where I had another chance to save the kitten, but I woke up.

No doubt, I never got what purpose absolute value served particularly.

Well, the simple answer is that all numbers become their positive whether or not they are negative or positive. So, -500 would have the absolute value of +500. ANd a +500 would also be +500

Good thing, I remember absolute value from algebra class or I'd be insulted.

But, but, I would never take on a sidekick. Anyhow, if my Badger character were to take on a sidekick, it'd probably be more of someone who fills in his weaknesses. Given him being anti-social, might be someone able to deal with the public in some capacity (he isn't going to stick around for interviews after all). Don't know how the dynamic would be, "mentor" probably doesn't describe him, has the knowledge but not the temperament. On the other hand, I could see him ending up with some bubbly teenage sidekick, because that would drive him nuts.
