  1. I want to make a spell that when cast would create an large object to block out all sunlight or moonlight. I was thinking it sould take 2 minutes to take full effect, last 1 minute, and then take 2 minutes to wear off (so its more like a normal eclipse). I was thinking of using a darkness field but it doesnt cause complete darkness. You would still be able to see by artificial light, starlight, and moonlight if this was cast during the day. I want it to have charges but how would I do an inconsistant continuing charge? Should I use Images or Transform instead? If so, how would I make the power?
  2. How do I determine how many character points I should build a villain on? I want a single villain to stand her ground alone against a party of five or six 300 point characters. Sorry if this has already been asked. I had no idea what to do the search for.

At the end of the Usable On Others Advantage it says, "Similarly, an character can use a Focus which isn't Personal even though this Advantage isn't bought for it; that's part of the Focus Limitation." What does this mean? Does it mean that the Power to be granted can have a Focus that the character needs to have (I cast a spell on some berries and give them to someone so that when they eat them they have increased CON)?
  4. I have brother and sister Shadow Magi who when they are together have special powers. I want them to have to coordinate some powers and others are only usable when the other is within some distance (I'm thinking 2" or 4") What kinds of limitations should I use?

Thanks that helps a lot. if a Relic has more than one Power then should I put them in a multipower and place the continuous charge on the multipower? and if a relic's power can only be used once per activation of the relic should I give it the 1/day(-2) limitation or the 1/5 minutes(-0) limitation. (I'm assuming that since you can increase the recovery time by one step on the time chart for an additional -1/2 that you can do the opposite)

How do I represent this? Also how do I make a Relic that will reduce the END Cost of all Powers on Relics by 4 END for as long as it is activated? Finally every Magi has a VPP which changes every turn without his control (this represents his hand). How would I make a Relic that would let you roll to see what goes in your hand and keep it if you want or throw it out if you don't? Thanks

  12. Thanks I may use that. The place I got the fully healed from is that the Magi goes to the bottom of the Magi pile face down which means that he is not defeated and when it is his turn he comes back with all of his starting cards and with full energy.

OK the way I picture this working is one party member gives another all of his or her rings, memorized spells, active and inactive relics, and control of all of his or her summoned creatures and takes his rings memorized spells and inactive relics and after five minutes is fully healed and all of the rings memorized spells and inactive relics are recharged and ready to go. This is not meant for casual use because the Giant Parathin is a very expensive Creature to use. It will probably take 40 END to summon it. How do make this into a power?

  15. Can you have a Power linked to a Power linked to a Power. I want to have a Creature that wraps around another Creature as an HKA and if it kills the Creature I want that Creature's Magi to get its Summon Power for it rechanged as a side effect but as a linked Power I want Images to Create Light for 1d6 Segments and during the height of it (the middle segment) I want it to be so bright it blinds anyone looking at it (Flash Power) so it's Flash linked to Images linke to HKA right? Is this allowed? Is there a better way to do it?
  16. If you're Andrew from the Game Preserve in Bloomington then yes. I don't understand what's so weird about it. I like making games and I had been working on a Magi-Nation RPG but didn't really have a good system for it, so I wanted to see if HERO would work, and so far it is.
  17. I'm making Magi-Nation into a HERO System RPG. Any suggestions on Special Effects for the powers would be appreciated. Nothing stupid like for Fire Ball or Lightning please though. And I already thought of the special effects for the Alaban's Undream and the Abaquist's Possess. I am currently working on Base Set, but I would love to hear good ideas for other sets too. When I finish I will my Bestiary, Spell Book, Reliquery, and NPCs (the Magi from the game) both here and on www.insiider.com
  18. A good way to simulate cartoon physics may be to have a package that every character must buy with odd powers like flight with the same " as the characters running and a -2 limitation of only when the character doesn't realize he's not on the ground.

I am attempting to make the HERO System work for Magi-Nation, a somewhat obscure CCG, and I need help with the summoning effect of the Orathan Flyer Effect -- Summoning: When your Magi plays a Creature, he or she may use energy from Orathan Flyer to pay for the Creature. The Creature's entire energy cost must be paid by Orathan Flyer. O and if anyone here is familiar with Magi-Nation I would love to have further suggestions on how to do Spells, Relics, and Magi (I have all the other Creatures done)
