Grunge by Ringo was okay, but the first person pov from that book is def a Sue. Joker gets straight c's in school just to tick off his liberal mom. I was like seriously?

I"m a gun lover as well, but it seems like most of the gun facts and data were on the level of Olympic caliber target shooters.  After a paragrapgh on all the facts about the weapon all I would gather is that the gun was "better than average"

Owen. Not so much. Book three is all about Harbinger. Book five is about Franks. Those two are pretty darn good. The ones with Owen get marginally better.

Owen is my least favorite character in the whole series. He is very obviously an author insertion character. Besides that he has the whole "rebel without a clue" and "loudmouth so Conservative that he makes Conservatives as a class look bad" thing going. Hell, I prefer the thinly veiled Wolverine knock-off that is Harbinger. Turns out my favorite character is painted as an almost bad guy in the first few books (Franks). 
 
I have enjoyed the series but there have been many things that have just made me sign in weak exasperation.

After hearing alot of good things about it, I purchased and read Monster Hunters International. 
 
Positives:
The author put some nice twists into his world. I have always liked monster hunter campaigns and movies, so this was really enjoyable.
No good guy characters in the book were really invulnerable and everyone took a beating
Some of the situations had me thinking "Holy crap, how the hell are they going to get out of this????
 
Not so Positives...
I'm sure I'm going to get some flak for this, but Owen is a Mary Sue... I just can't get past this.  Maybe it's because of the first person way the story is told, or the forced, weird feeling romance that was shoved in, but yeah, Mary Sue.  I honestly feel that if the Owen character was replaced by someone else, I would have enjoyed the book more.

Last night I had a dream that I was back in the Navy, and I was about to set off on a 6 month deployment.  It was a surprise, and I hadn't set things in order with my apartment, or even told my family. As i boarded the ship, I realized my ID was outdated; I had a general idea where my shop should have been, but I couldn't find it.  I had to show up to check in with the shop, but part of my uniform was missing and I was not clean shaven.  And there were no open racks in the berthing area. I blame the bratwurst.

Today in class, everyone was saying what they are givng up for lent. When it was my turn, I said "I'm giving up gay sex for lent." And then there was alot of silence and uncomfo:D table looks

You need to take that up with the GM. There are no official rules on point or effectiveness ceilings, so if a GM chooses to set any, it's up to him to also address any rules implications that arise.

That's part of it.
 
Due to the 60 active point limit in our game, I can only use 40 STR on the AoE grab. I want to switch to grabbing a single target so I can use all 60 STR.
 
1. Do I need to make an attack roll to switch?
2. If I fail the attack roll, is the target free of the grab, or is he still in the 40 STR AoE grab?
