  1. Re: Devil's Cape and Argonaut Hey, it's cool to see someone trying an Argonaut build. I've never actually created stats for him, though I've thought about it, of course. If I did, I would probably give him some pretty high general stats (STR and such from Heracles, DEX from any number of Argonauts, INT from Theseus, etc.). I'd add in some kind of Elemental Control (a lot of what could fit would depend on house rules) to cover other frequently used powers like his Flight and maybe his precognitive dreams (which at this point he has very little control over). I might also give him a small VPP to cover some of those abilities that he wouldn't use often or that might crop up at odd times. The singing ability would likely go here (I'm thinking possibly as an Aid to PRE with certain limitations). He also has a number of skills that come from the Argonauts rather than his own knowledge, like ancient wrestling and/or Pankration. The shapeshifting is a bit of a conundrum that I'm struggling with in the sequel. Logically, he should have this ability, but it feels pretty far afield from his other stuff. One stream of my current thinking is that, even if he has the ability to change his shape, he might be afraid to do so because he's nervous about messing something up and not being able to turn back into exactly the same form he always had. He also has a sort of Mind Link with his brother (and don't forget Social Limitation: Evil Twin!). Thanks for the interest in the book!
  2. Re: Starter Characters (Critique/Steal) This is a very old thread. At some point in the past few years, the boards were overhauled and as a result, a lot of the formatting was lost or changed, meaning that sometimes you get garbage characters like that. I think some of those were probably from smart quotation marks or special formatting that was converted into those weird characters.
  3. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Hey, that's really cool! Thanks! Can I put that on my blog?
  4. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Hey, Storn. I think you might have put the wrong image here. This post seems to have the same one twice. Wonderful, cool, evocative art. As usual.
  5. Re: The horror, the horror. European Enemies "debugged." Great! Keep us posted.
  6. Re: CHAR: Martian Manhunter Have you posted the HDC file anywhere? Thanks.
  7. Re: Superhero Images Thanks very much. I'll let you know what we end up with and will definitely provide credit.
  8. Re: Evil Unleashed? It's an opinion. How about politely disagreeing instead of being insulting? My issue, as I stated earlier in the thread, isn't with reprint books. I agree that they're handy, and they're fine for people who want that material all together or who don't have most of the other books. My bone of contention is with the flip side of the 90% reprints--the "10% new" part. If I'm interested in the new material offered in the book, then the only way I can get it is by buying the book, regardless of whether I've already paid for the reprinted material by buying other books. That's where this type of book is taking advantage of loyal fans and completists--if you want the handful of new characters, you have to shell out full price for a book. I feel that a new book should either be mostly new or entirely reprinted material.
  9. Re: Superhero Images Nice work, gentlemen. Would you mind if I incorporated this image into a logo over on the Uberworld site? There's a clown-themed villain team that this would work nicely for.
