  1. Re: Grab my tentacles I would say let the SFX dictate. I seriously doubt the tentacles *poof* out of existence, therefore Amazona still has hold of one of those suckers. Not an official answer, but I would go with the straight -5 STR regardless of how many limbs one had. I hope you and your suggestive title are happy.
  2. Re: Grab my tentacles I have to say, the title had me all excited. This is kind of a let down.
  3. Re: 6th Edition is nearly 200 more pages...why? No. Muffin had a higher COM. Oh, wait…
  4. Re: So when is the PDF going to be available? Stealth and/or Disguise.
  5. Paizo apparently does not have the art for the covers. Does anyone have the ISBN for the two books? Can anyone tell me which one is HER1001.
  6. Re: 6th Edition is nearly 200 more pages...why? Leave me and my dead horse alone.
  7. Re: So when is the PDF going to be available? It is not my fault Teleportation is broken, over-priced and un-fun.
  8. Re: 6th Edition is nearly 200 more pages...why? [sNARK] Except all those things going into APG1, 2, 3… [/sNARK]
  9. Re: So when is the PDF going to be available? Why were they not built with Teleportation (Only to Avoid Customs)?
  10. How about EDM? What? Transform allows you to add Disadvantages to someone, correct? Why not Power Limitations as well?
  11. Re: Ninja Revenge AAR I should expect such partisanship from a ninja fan boi. Pirates foreva!!!
  12. Re: Slowing down Character advancement O.k., I probably deserved that one. It is still irrelevant. My decision on when and how much XP to grant is not based on my laziness (my complete lack of preparation is). I generally know my players' characters better than they do. Often times, I have to remind them how many XP I have given them and ask if they are planning to ever use some. While I certainly have no beef with buying off hunteds, if you did not want it to be part of your character, why did you take it to begin with? Disadvantages add depth to characters. I also look at it this way, in order for the story to be interesting there has to be conflict. If you do not give the GM something to create conflict around, the GM will have to create something on their own. Disadvantages give you some control over the kind of conflict the GM will create. It seems to me a lot of your frustration revolves around creating the character you want. Which is exactly why generally give out the high end of character points to begin with. I want players to run a character they will enjoy. I never enjoyed starting off at 1st level.
  13. Re: Your favorite character type Mystics because I love jack-of-all-trades type characters, but…
  14. Re: Player vs. Player In my opinion, everyone at the table has a responsibility to make the game fun for everyone else. Or, at least, not to ruin anyone else's fun. 'In character' is not an excuse to ignore that responsibility. Don't be that guy.
  15. Re: look over my Pizza Oven Gah! I expected an actual pizza oven stats.
  16. Re: Slowing down Character advancement I am with Sean on this. There are plenty of in game ways to reward players. If you are just playing to 'level up', may I suggest any number of excellent computer games you may enjoy. If you need to advance to meet your character concept, I think you need to have a discussion with your GM. Your expectations may be too different. I am not suggesting you never reward XP. It depends largely on the type of campaign. I usually run highly cinematic campaigns. I want fully formed PCs that are not going to change much (just like James Bond). If I wanted to go from lowly rat-killers to demigods, I would probably play that certain other game.
  17. Re: How to make the Loner feel not so Lonely? Oooo, a Cupid!
  18. Re: Confessions of Infidelity I agree it is a matter of degree. You are absolutely correct you can not always take 10 unless you have the appropriate Feats. Yes, Hero Points are more fun to spend on something more than just a re-roll. I certainly feel your pain, having the worst luck with dice myself. One more point I would like to make, except on attack rolls, a 1 does not mean automatic failure. This is something I misunderstood at first and can add to the feeling of failing 5% of the time. You are also correct in pointing out that Hero simply has more support for multiple genres. I plan to cannibalize some of True20 when I do get around to playing a more mundane campaign of Mutants & Masterminds. A lot has to do with my desire for more rules light and cinematic rules sets right now. If I wanted really gritty campaigns, for example, and/or more granularity, I would be more likely to lean towards G.U.R.P.S. than either Hero or M&M. I find all three systems quite serviceable.
  19. Re: Thrown Mastery or somthing akin.... I like Multipowers because then you can add things like Pin To The Wall Entange, Flip The Switch Telekinesis, 52 Card Pickup or Sand In The Face Flash.

    A pit.

Re: A pit. Extra Dimensional Movement? … What?
  21. Re: New to Hero - Alterantive tech and Dark Champion Question All you need to do then is use those books and build the tech in them using the building blocks of Hero. You can toss the TL system.
  22. Re: New to Hero - Alterantive tech and Dark Champion Question Welcome! Are there any available rules for alternative technology/technology paths? Yes and no. The rules do not present you predefined technologies for alternative paths. There are examples of standard technologies and the building block used to build them. It is left to you to design your own (or steal from another setting). For examples, there is no Ray Gun. But a Ray Gun is nothing more than Energy Blast with Obvious Accessible Focus (OAF). Flavor to taste.
  23. Re: New Mechanic: Movement Are they? Or are they just a means to gain access to a specific power suit that is only usable in very specific circumstances?
