  1. Re: Order of the Stick You say that like Tarquin really considers Nale a threat.
  2. Re: Project XIII: images from my campaign Good stuff (and appropriate beverage choice), but the folks behind you in the ghost costumes are especially impressive!
  3. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Good stuff. Glad you're feeling better. But..."Calculas"?
  4. Re: Help with a plot power Psychic Flashes: +10 to Deduction, NCC (to move things along) Psychic Flashes: Physical Lim. - infrequent, slight (to get things started)
  5. Re: 6E Rules changes confirmed so far All fine. (shrug) Hexes and the one inch=2m shorthand made things simple on a tabletop, but I'm not going to worry too much about this one. Attractiveness is very subjective, so I'm not heartbroken about it going away as a stat. I liked COM, I use COM, but could see attractiveness being done as limited PRE. Will see how this washes out. Would like to have had it playtested, but... I've used it, but it was an orphan mechanic. I'd be OK to see it go away. Likewise if Danger Sense was altered to be a specific kind of Detect/Per roll. That will be interesting to hear about. Maybe requiring something SFX based? And presumably everything with Unified Power will be drained, etc. at the same time (see: Adjustment Power changes) Should have been done in 1st ed. Advantages and Disadvantages not being opposites was needlessly confusing. "Complications" also helps emphasize that they should be used for plot purposes IMO.
  6. Re: Order of the Stick I'm thinking that one of the possible courses of action for O'Chul is to actually kill V. - He has no real chance against Xykon - The teleport restrictions mean no backup for V Killing V should be pretty easy at this point, she's bound to have lost a lot of HP. It spares her the tortures that she would undoubtedly be subjected to, and wouldn't be able to stand up to them as well as O'Chul has. With V dead, hercompanions could True Res. her and get her back into action. Of course, O'Chul isn't aware of the contract.
  7. Re: Order of the Stick Xykon is a grade-A bad***, no doubt about it. Amazing that Roy held up so well against him. Certainly shows that the OotS has a long way to go before they can take him down directly. On the plus side, that means lots more strips for us!
  8. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game Yeah, that's a bit frustrating in CoH. One thing to check that's easy to miss starting out is the difficulty level. When I first started playing, I looked at the titles and figured that the "Invincible" AtomAnt sounded better than the other options. Six levels later I found out that I might want to change that before tackling Frostfire again...
  9. Re: Order of the Stick I wonder what might be a suitable host body for the necromancer...a bone golem perhaps?
  10. Re: Order of the Stick Their pr0n filters are keeping you out.
  11. Re: Order of the Stick I'd be very careful about entering into a time-based deal with beings who've shown they can stop time.
  12. Re: Order of the Stick Of course there's no guarantee that "other parent" is a pushover. They could have already reached the pinnacle in their chosen field and 'retired' to raise the kids while V went out to build a career. The Dragon might be unpleasantly surprised especially having already expended a number of spells. "Foolish drake. My mate - a mage - has been travelling for years, did you really think I would not have a way to detect being scryed upon should they wish to contact me? Or that I would not be able to detect such a foul smelling acidic mass such as yourself even though invisible to sight? Did you think the mass of squashed vegetation outside our home would go unnoticed? I did nothing at the time to avoid upsetting the children, but I did prepare for your return." *rapidshots multiple arrows of dragonslaying* Could be especially nasty if any of the Grandparents happen to be handy.
  13. Re: Order of the Stick Could always just be a custom Feat.
  14. Re: Order of the Stick I wonder if Rich plans to actually wrap up some of this stuff, heading for a series-ending 1000th (regular) strip?
  15. Re: Order of the Stick I love that development at some levels. Pay the price for being unnecessarily secretive with the rest of the party. Heck, if she had been up front with the rest of the OotS about it, at least Roy, Durkon and Elan would have started chipping in some of their loot towards it, or done a side quest to free pops.
  16. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. "The Marxman - when it comes to class warfare, he's in a class of his own!" Akin to Stalin being "Man of Steel", whatever the Russian is for "Man of Lead" could be good too.
  17. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Assuming the forum info is correct...Happy Birthday Storn!
  18. Re: Project XIII: images from my campaign Tons of good stuff there Mancer!
  19. Re: Order of the Stick That would be me.
  20. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER THE WEDDING TEST I was a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me...It was her beautiful younger sister. My prospective sister-in-law was 22, wore very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra-less. She would regularly bend down when she was near me, and I always got more than a nice view. It had to be deliberate. Because she never did it when she was near anyone else. One day her 'little' sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister. Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word. She slowly took off all her clothes apart from a tiny white thong and said, 'I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.' I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car. Lo and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, 'We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.' And the moral of this story is: Always keep your condoms in your car.
  21. Re: Real Locations that should be fantasy Got sent a bunch of pics from a colleague in India, some of the more appropriate ones: Snake cult anyone (or Cobra Commander's summer home) Baijnath Temple Fort Viejo Fort Jaipur
  22. Re: How Would You Make Green Lantern? Remember to reason from effect. GL creates a big energy hammer and whonks Sinestro with it. Do you need to write up a special power to create a big energy hammer? Not really. What's the effect? Sinestro takes damage and goes flying back. Just buy it as an EB. Same as forming a big green Civil War era cannon, a train to run him over, a giant wolf to bite him, etc. Build it from what the effect would be, what it looks like is just window dressing. As for willpower, especially if go the VPP route could make the Power skill required be based off of EGO.
  23. Re: How Would You Make Green Lantern? Mostly it's just EB, TK, and force wall with artistic license. Tack on flight, FF and life support and you're pretty much there.
