  1. Re: Order of the Stick Though there is a certain demoness who might have a problem with someone taking her Nale. No pun intended. Though being a demoness, she might be open to the idea. Regardless, I think they would just reinforce each other's natural inclinations. But a half-orc ninja rejected by Elan and with a resulting hatred of Haley would make a great candidate for membership in the Linear Guild if her current employment falls through. Especially if (as is likely) the OotS is the cause of her current employment falling through. Reject her advances, take her man, kill her father figure/employer - yeah, that's a good way to get a Hunted!
  2. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Awww... My grandmother in college was sweethearts with a young man named Paul. Got along great, but lots of differences in background and religion, pressure from families pulled them apart. They both went on to marry other people and have children and grandchildren, and both survived their spouses. After a time they got back in touch, started seeing each other and got married. It may have taken 40 years but eventually they ended up with who they were supposed to. Good luck, hope your story has a similar happy ending!
  3. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Could be a sideline there...
  4. Re: Query's Art & Stuff Thread Looks good! But if the knot is supposed to be her stretching herself into that shape...what is she stretching to do so?
  5. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I like how the axe looks like a beak - was that part of his description or did you add that in? Plus a lot cooler given the climate. Not a bad thing from my point of view, especially from his 'heyday'. The angular face with the hairstyle, slashing eybrows and pointed ears brings up images of Byrne's Namor so that might be what helps bring out some of the similarities. Good stuff!
  6. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. "Only be sure always to call it please, 'research'."
  7. Re: Order of the Stick Would be awesome for O-Chul to turn the creature to his side. All that keeping him in reserve and winds up being used against Xykon.
  8. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Anything with air pirates is awesome.
  9. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Been watching a lot of Backyardigans recently. The little one really likes it, and it's pretty entertaining for us too.
  10. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Hmm, can't rep Storn again yet, so I'll just put the comment here: "We're gonna need a bigger coop."
  11. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Dah duh... *cluck* Dah duh... *cluck* Dah duh dah duh dah duh dah duh *WOOFWOOFcluckcluckWOOF*
  12. Re: Order of the Stick Belkar Bitterleaf is like Galactus - a force of destruction beyond mortals' ability to comprehend, with a larger role to play in the order of the universe. Attempting to impose a set of morals on him is pointless. Besides, he'll stab you if you try.
  13. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game I'm @AtomAnt. Mostly do heroes on Triumph, villains on Victory. Most-played: (Triumph/heroes) Atom Ant Lady Stormfront Scarlet Shade Conner Stone AA's in the mid-30s, others in teens/low 20s (Victory/villains) Toy King Terrarizer Doctor Isotope General Fear Mr. Janus Scream Queene levels all over the place, TK in mid 30's, rest much lower. Have a VG on Victory (Lords of Villainy) - very casual group, mostly just alts for a few online friends. Big initial plans, but you know how that goes. Functional base with storage, invention crafting table, some decoration. Someday hope to get teleporters put in.
  14. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... We're down in Atlantis chatting with the king about the latest threat to the world, the Titans of old busting loose. Ultrawoman! : "So, how did the gods beat them anyways?" King: "Zeus was powerful, and the gods had allies as well." Ultrawoman! : "Allies? Such as...?" King: "The Hecatonchires." Ultrawoman! : "Hecatonchires? What are they?" King: "Hundred-handed ones." Ultrawoman! : "Ah...I've been on some dates with those." Crisis: "You know...not all men are like that." Ultrawoman! : "Hey...I didn't say that they were bad dates."
  15. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Given that she's either a spellcaster or a genie, my money's on spirit gum.
  16. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Or the Fresh Prince of Tides.
  17. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Triumph of the Will & Grace - the story of the friendship between a woman and her former boyfriend, now gay and a dictator, whose forces wear such fabulous uniforms and have great choreography.
  18. Re: Pirates : An amusing question. It's a big test. These long term goals are dangerous, and not necessarily suited to your primary talents - namely, pirating. So you set up a nasty thing filled with all kinds of death dealing to test strength, persistence, ingenuity, etc. The ones who make it through are just the sorts you would want to hire to rescue your family/kill a powerful and well-protected figure. They're very capable and willing to undertake great risks for the promise of great reward. Reward them for making it through the "dungeon" and offer them the job(s) for the promise of even greater rewards.
  19. Re: Essential equipment for a starting mage My answer would have just been: two warrior-types.
  20. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? I'm listening to the wind and creaking of trees outside at work. Mentally estimating how many trees are going to be down in my yard when I get home...
  21. Re: Odd Situation If the hero doesn't need to try to actually stop the villain from doing something in particular (villain attacks someone else, etc) then seems valid to me if he can't hurt the bad guy, such as the above Daredevil vs Hulk example. I would expect the hero to look for other opportunities as he does so, try to manuever the villain where the environment could help, have him punch into some high-voltage lines, things like that. But overall "keep myself alive vs. nasty opponent" is a good idea. It can be even more fun if fighting said "dumb brick" type - if you can beat them by running them out of END (and then them burning STUN for END), that's smooth.
  22. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I bet she looks real silly all hunched over riding that tiny motorcycle.
