  1. Re: Indiana Jones 4 Trailer is now out!!! I like the rest of you SOOOO want this to be good. Not to be a downer (yeah.. too late) but I have my concerns after RotS...
  2. Re: Greatest Superhero Team of all Time!!! Uh...er...uh... Wow? Something? So Spidy's Baseball bat... So this round of DC vs Marvel issues will be at a softball game?
  3. Re: ENCYCLOPEDIA TUALA Now Available! Awsome!
  4. Re: Do you use miniatures? I like the Hero-Clix myself. I do tend to have more "Street Level" Super Power games more that Super Hero. I enjoy painting so I use alot of the Games Workshop figs, as well as the Street Violence figs from Wargames Foundry: http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/SV/5/index.asp but I've heard fairly good things about the Superfigs line-- http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=27&osCsid=1df3642f38b9fa7efc4146be61c099f0
  5. Re: "Open-Source" superhero names Villain wise, there is Scarecrow... Both DC and Marvel have one. They even went at it during the DC vs. Marvel thing, several years ago…
  6. Re: Submarine Aircraft carriers of the world! Sweet! This is so going in my game...
  7. Re: Return To Doctor Han's Island (advice needed) Well you mentioned needing a European and since you brought up the movie Enter the Ninja... Franco Nero played Cole the "good guy" Ninja in the film. (the actor, not necessarily the character, is from Italy.) Just a thought.
  8. Re: Horror Hero Without the Supernatural *Chuckle* So for a campaign of this type, do you make your players turn around randomly and scream "Stop following me!" to the invisible no-one?
  9. Re: Horror Hero Without the Supernatural I ran a very cool One-Shot (that turned into a two shot, but hey!) where the Characters believed they were turning into Werewolves. I did some research on various psychedelic drugs and various chemical compounds that could temporarily heighten senses—at some fairly high cost to the individual, health-wise, I mean. It was a great game; most of my players are used to the supernatural element so it came as a shock to look for a scientific solution…
  10. Re: Renaissance Fantasy Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t there some discussion at some time about Hero Games doing a Fantasy Europe book for Fantasy Hero… This just reminded me of that...
  11. Re: Urban Fantasy Recommendations Forgot about Dead Like Me. Nice! I haven't seen Reaper yet, but its supposed to be pretty good too...
  12. Re: Urban Fantasy Recommendations Wow.. I'm shocked no one has mentioned the show "Supernatural" yet. Granted it, like "Forever Knight" would fit in better with Horror Hero, but it has plenty that would fit the Urban Fantasy mold: Demons, djinn (Gennie), Reapers, magic rituals, etc. Hey my favorite show on TV right now...
  13. Re: Doctor, Doctor! One of my favorite characters was both a PhD and a JD. He was a lawyer who used his Mental powers to win over any jury he came across… He was a Corporate Lawyer, so I guess though he was my hero, he was a villain to many:eg:
  14. Re: Currency . . . of the Future! Damn! Beat me to it!
  15. Re: Horror Hero Very Happy.... Please be good... and long... like Fantasy Hero long...
  16. Re: Husdon City Map now in the online store AWSOME!!!! I know there is no real purpose in this post but I just had to cheer!!!
  17. Re: Teleporting -- need a better name for it. In the Harry Potter books they call it, Apparition (A-pa-RI-shun) and Disapparate (dis-AP-a-rate) respectively. http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/spells/spells_a.html#apparition
  18. Re: Best ever Reason to NOT be a superVillian!! Finding out the hard-way how much you’ll embarrass your family when you caught on camera in miss-matched tights and hand cuffs, while you’re being slapped into the back of a squad car on next week’s episode of COPS!
  19. Re: "Sleeper" Genres I’d love to see a series of War Hero books—WWII Hero, War to End All Wars Hero, American Revolution Hero, War of the Roses Hero (this one is touched on in a few already mentioned) Napoleonic Hero, American Civil War Hero*, etc…. * Sorry, history teacher in me… America has never had a Civil War. We have had a War Between the States, or more properly a War for Confederate Independence that ultimately failed. A civil war is a war between 2 (or more) factions fighting for the control of a government, not one side trying to keep another faction from seceding… sorry ranting…
  20. Re: Comics you loved...but apparently no one else did Hey, anyone remember SledgeHammer-- based on the ole '80's TV show. Whopping 2 issues... loved the show, and god help me, loved the 2 issues...
  21. Re: Horrorclix! Scary minis by the fistful! Hey, I'm looking SOOOOOO forward to this. The down side is I now HAVE to go to DragonCon this year, not only for Great Cthulhu but also for the Spectre fig for the DC game... okay not really for the game; really just to have it, but hey...
  22. Re: Champions Miniatures http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/ Mostly historical figures but they have great cops and gangers—look under the section for “Street Violence.†Also look at Pulp Figs— http://www.pulpfigures.com/main.php?custID=671291751221139493334 awesome for Pulp hero and Ninja Hero too…
  23. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) GURPS Hero Married with Hero Champions: Elevator Inspectors Unit Incontinence Hero Champions: Truck Dispatchers Unit Congressional Incompetence Cover-Up Hero Champions: Network Executive Unit I'm sure I copied a few from others... Blah… why’d I even bother with this…
  24. Re: Speedster Question... Yeah, thats pretty much it, though some of the ideas here are pretty funny (read disturbing) After reading some of the ideas here, I’m now thinking he will have high regen/recovery, etc but maybe its breaking down—or maybe its not able to keep up with the “pace†of the characters speed power development…
