  1. Earlier I asked a question concerning using the Variable Effect advantage for Adjustment powers to add points to both powers and characteristics and you said that they can add to "all the Powers and Characteristics deriving from a given special effect". Could you give an example of justifying Characteristics based off of a given special effect? It's easy to tie powers to Flame FX but how would you tie characteristics to Flame FX? Thanks for all your help, btw. Jason Abels
  2. I've just started playing Hero system and have been generating characters and came across a couple rules questions concerning Adjustment powers (specifically Absorption). 1. Can you buy Variable Effect to effect both Power(s) and Characteristic(s)? ie. Flaming Strength: Absorption 4d6 (energy), affects STR, END, Energy Blast (flame FX), Change Environment (flame FX) (+1) = 40 active points 2. Ignore this if the answer to #1 is no, but if yes then how does this work with the +2 level of Variable Effect? According to the wording it looks like it affects ALL characteristics plus ALL powers within a related FX. I'm not planning on doing this, but it looks like it'd be ok with the rules to pay +2 and have an absorb that adds points to all the characterics and also adds points to all single FX-based attacks (such as flame FX). Is this correct? Thanks, Jason Abels
  3. Hah! I've been thinking the exact same thing! I'm actually just starting to get back into HERO system after an 8 year hiatus, so hopefully I'll be back on my feet in no time and cranking a Kill Bill campaign for some friends of mine who are wanting to kick some ass Uma style... I'll be sure to post anything I come up with here for y'all's enjoyment or (constructive) criticism. Jason Abels
