John T got a reaction from PhilFleischmann in MYTHIC HERO: What Do *You* Want To See?
Re: MYTHIC HERO: What Do *You* Want To See?
Some notes regarding "family trees" and deities co-opted from earlier faiths. Central/South America was rife with this. The Romans practically adopted the Greek pantheon... and then started "cross-breeding" with the Egyptian deities.
Just about every mythic pantheon has examples.
edit: Also have to laugh, since I'd started a thread here ages ago (Mythic Champions) about wanting to run a game in such a setting. Unfortunately, my life rarely allows me the time to work on such a project at length. This (pair of?) books will almost certainly make that campaign a reality.

THanks guys. I tried putting this request up on the d20 boards as well and all I got was attitude and insults. It's nice to know there is a place to go where people actually treat you like a person.

Nkaaaaayyy.
Mors Iabrochii by Augustus Arthur Vansittart
Coesper erat: tunc lubriciles altravia circum
Urbegant gyros gimbiculosque tophi:
Moestenui visae borogovides ire meatu:
Et profugi gemitus exgrabuere rathae.
O fuge Iabrochium, sanguis meus! Ille recurvis
Unguibus, estque avidis dentibus ille minax.
Ububae fuge cautus avis vim, gnate!
Neque unquam Faedarpax contra te frumiosus eat!
Vorpali gladio iuvenis succingitur: hostis
Manxumus ad medium quaeritur usque diem:
Imanque via fesso sed plurima mente prementi,
Timtumie frondis suaserat umbra moram.
Consilia interdum stetit egnia mente revolvens:
At gravis in densa fronde susuffrus erat,
Spiculaque ex oculis iacientis flammae, tulscam
Per silvam venit burbur Iabrochii!
Vorpali, semel atque iterum collectus in ictum
Persnicuit gladio persnacuitque puer:
Diende galumphatus, spernens informe cadaver,
Horrendum monstri rettulit ipse caput.
Victor Iabrochii, spoliis insignis opimis
Rursus in amplexus, o radiose, meos!
O frabiose dies! CALLO clamatque CALLA!
Vix potuit laetus chorticulare pater.
Coesper erat: tunc lubriciles altravia circum
Urbregant gyros gimbiculosque tophi:
Moestenui visae borogovides ire meatu:
Et profugi gemitus exgrabuere rathae.

Jeff T's Millennium Knights.
Jeff gave me an exhaustive description. I hope I did his team justice. To those others that I have commissions to do for, I will be getting to them slowly and surely. Origins is eating up a bit of time due to prep. But I'll be taking sketches to do with me.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I'm sure I'm going to regret this, but...
I, Jonathan Bodey, a natural-born citizen of the United States, just wresteld with my 8 month old daughter to put antibiotics in her eyes. She's probably going to need surgery to clear the tear ducts. They say it's routine, but that doesn't matter when you're her Dad. The only thing I care about is her safety over this one trivial little thing. There are millions like me, caring about their little lives and wondering what all the raging noise is about.
My point is this: I don't give a rat's ass if you are "Lib'rul" or "Neocon". The truth of the matter is that lately you've all* been unreasonable ideological fcuktards from the party leaders right down to rank and file. You all have forgotten basic decency and the 'don't be an asshole' rule and occasionally just how to shut the hell up. There doesn't seem to be a place we can go without you folks raising a din where a murmur would do.
This is the Hero Games forums. Posting anything other than rules questions is a priviege, not a right. You may have Freedom of Speech at all times, but this company doesn't have to let you be heard here, but they do, and you guys all sure do a bang-up job of respecting that every single da---cough---Sorry, had a little sarcasm in my throat.
You want to be a bunch of assholes, go to Dailykos and Free Republic and spew there. Otherwise, do all the rest of us here a favor and close your sphincters for a while. The world won't fall apart if you do, and it'll sure smell better.
And that would be my 'random' musing. Hey, is that pie?
* Ok, "you've all" is a little strong. In retrospect I should have said something like "a sizeable number of you have" or "too god damn many of you have been". Mea maxima culpa.

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
I'm actually closing in on 100 posts.... I'm not really a net/chat board enthusiast, but I _am_ extremely competitive, so this pleases me. I also want more rep, but it looks to me, cynic that I am, like rep goes to them as has it.
-----------------Anti-Liberal criticism follows-----------------------
I was born English, and lived the first 4 years of my life there. I conceived a vast loyalty and attachment to my own Romanticized notion of England, composed of (amongst other things) King Arthur, Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, the English language, heroism and victory in WWII and football.
In 1992, after _many_ years of residency, I became a naturalized U.S. citizen...and I have never felt the need to condemn my adopted country for all the evils, real and imagined, of the entire world. That's something many natural-born Liberal U.S. citizens canNOT refrain from doing, whether from naïvety, transference of personal guilt, desire to be fashionable or simple ignorance.
I find that Liberal ingratitude and disloyalty digusting! If the Liberals believe that other nations are morally superior to the U.S., that the people of other nations are leading less restricted, freer and more ideal lives than the people of the U.S., then let the Liberals _immigrate_ to those other nations. I'll watch the airports for the vast exodus of Liberals heading for Iraq, Iran, France, Germany, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Korea -- but I think I'll be waiting a looong time for any signs of the American Liberals putting their money where their (big) mouths are.
Hypocrisy, thy name is 21st Century Libralism.

Thanks!
And I already knew that; not quite a gun-nut, but I have enjoyed firearms practice in the past. Kinda required with my past military career. Just being my usual smart-assed self!

I wouldn't, and might even voluteer to eviscerate the people that do their advertising.
Considering thet neither I nor anyone I know has ever even walked into one of their stores, because of their ads, I figure they're getting what they deserve from us, anyway... NOTHING.

John T. is an incredibly patient and gracious man.
I know if someone had been flirting with my wife the way I'd been flirting with his... someone's scrotum would be a sewn on attatchment to their own forehead.
