 Yoshio Inaba is a defensive and tactical fighter a former JSDF special forces sniper until he was wounded by  super powered terrorist causing his rifle to explode with a thought he lost his right eye most of the vision in his left his right  arm from the elbow and serious facial scaring. he would spend the next 2 years undergoing multiple surgeries and recovering as part of the process his Physical therapist convinced him to take up archery to help him develop his off hand dexterity coordination and strength. his previous experience as a sniper allowed him to develop his skill rapidly until he found himself representing japan in the special Olympics and winning the Gold.
 
His story was taken up by  the media which resulted in a large Industrial company approachinghim to be a test patient for an advanced cybernetics system they where developing.
 
he was an excellent candidate for the program and his Right eye was replaced with an advanced Cybernetic offering multiple vision modes and telescopic vision (the damage to his left having mostly been healed/repaired) his right arm was replaced with a prosthetic limb that not only had full dexterity but beyond human strength.
 
his recovery was shown off at a company press conference when his life would change again three super villains attacked to kidnap the projects Lead scientist he had his bow and a quiver full of arrows though in the end he only required three well aimed shots to put down all three despite their powers.  The company saw an opportunity to create their own superhero and Yoshio saw an opportunity to serve his country once more.
 
Now as Totategumo The Trapdoor spider he is the tactical specialist of the team mostly know for his bow and selection of specialized arrows his real secret is his gift for preparing the battle field using a combination of grenades mines and his smart camouflage coat that allows him to control the battlefield striking from ambush and guiding enemies away from civilians and towards his more straight forward team mates.

The latest version of the Anime was about to Launch so most people thought it was Just a Publicity stunt when the Holographic Display facing the famous Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo stepped down from the plinth and stopped a speeding car that was about to plow into the pedestrians with a holographic shield.
 
S3 or Akasuki Hoshi wasn't a publicity stunt in fact she doesn't know what she is she has all the memories of her fictional counterpart a dead girl resurrected by her scientist father in the form of a hard light hologram generated by a floating drone she has been welcomed by the Seven samurai while she tries to work out where she came from bet that  another dimension where her character is real or created by some super-scientist Otaku. She lives as a normal school student to learn about modern Japan while using her powers to defend it and the world.
 
her powers are all based around her hard light holograms which protect her core can make energy shields  from personal to the size of bus she's also able to make incredibly sharp blades usually Katanas but she can manifest any kind of historic weapon she also can make energy beams with a power range from a beanbag round to a main battle tank mostly she will make her arm into an energy weapon but it just depends how she's feeling sometimes she does Eye beams or Kamehameha/ spirit ball style attacks.
 
her holographic body allows her to change everything about her appearance while she mostly uses it to have a constantly changing range of Kawaii outfits when the team needs an infiltrator she can duplicate anyone's appearance or even create energy shields that disguise whole areas.
 
she's also a skilled hacker able to interface with most unshielded technology and control it.

Miss Might
 
Megan Michaels was no-ones first thought of what a Hero looks like 5' nothing in her sensible shoes soft spoken an immensely patient she was the perfect kindergarten teacher. Then came a teachers worst nightmare an active shooter incident.
 
She did what she had been trained to hid her kids in a corner and kept them quite.
 
But when the shooter burst into her class room pistol aimed at her kids she snapped charging the man.
 
he was much bigger and stronger than her but she held on with all her strength to protect her kids.
 
And then there was that insanely loud noise and the coldness in her chest and again and again and she couldn't hold on any longer as she fell to the floor her vision fading all she could think was it wasn't enough who would save her kids. Megan's eyes closed for the last time as the gunman calmly reloaded.
 
Megan's eyes opened she felt amazing she leapt to her feet and charged the gunman once more as he took aim on her cowering charges.
 
She rammed into him hoping just to throw off his aim but she was amazed as she plowed him straight through the sheetrock into the empty class room next door.
 
she stood over the now trembling gun man as once more he leveled his pistol at her she flinched back covering her self but instead of the sharp pain followed by ice chill she remembered it felt like a light summer rain as 14 more bullets flattened against her skin and thunked to the floor.
 
She punched him once then and he lost consciousness.
 
when the police arrived a few minutes later they found an unconscious gun man hog tied with jump ropes and miss Michael's reading a story to her class to calm them down the only sign of the incident plaster dust in her hair and almost 30 holes in her sensible Cardigan and blouse.
 
Miss Might is now a super hero she still has her teaching license and tutors kids in some of the most dangerous parts of the city but feels that her powers require her to use them to protect people.
 
She is a little miffed that she didn't get the superhuman physique to go with her powers but it has proven advantageous as she is often overlooked and underestimated in a fight. She is mostly a very calm and focused fighter trying to minimise damage unless kids are threatened and then she has a tendency to get very angry and more than one villain has made the Oh **** face when they realise the storm they have unleashed.
 
She is pretty much a straight up brick superhumanly strong, nigh invulnerable, able to leap a considerable distance and with seemingly endless endurance
 
surprisingly her biggest asset to the team is not her powers but her people skills people open up to her and she is expert at defusing conflict.
 
She has said many times that dealing with superpowered alpha males and kindergarten have a lot in common.

THE A TEAM
 
The alliterative alliance, avenging angels of Anaheim the all American adventurers are 6 heroes all with names beginning with A!

Bouclier/maginot

Simon écran is a mutant able to generate an incredibly potent force wall unfortunately he was only able to create it in one plane at a time a single flat unbreakable shield.

He developed his powers when he was 16 and decided to become a superhero. His early success saving people from a fire and rescuing a small child from a lake.

These acts of heroism where unfortunately overshadowed by his first foray into crime fighting when attempting to stop a bank robbery he managed to pin the robbers against the side of the bank with a force wall only for the getaway driver to sneak up behind him and cold cock him the robbers escaped and the whole incident was caught on camera.

Some pundit on national tv compared him to France's failed defences in WW2 and the name stuck no matter how much he tries to get people to use his official name "Bouclier" the shield he is still called maginot. villains often take advantage of his anger in the hopes it will make him sloppy.

Bouclair is kind of a one trick pony he can still only create a single rectangular force wall of considerable toughness but only in one direction at a time since developing his power he has developed a number of tricks to compensate.

His favorite tricks in combat are the wall smash where he quickly move the force wall forward or tilt it down onto opponents to slam them, the compactor where he presses enemies against a wall or other suitable surface applying pressure of needed(since the first failure he is much more aware of his flanks when using the attack) and the plow angling his force field 45 degrees and then charging does to send them head over heels.

Out side of combat Simon uses the wall to protect innocents and his team mates but also laying it flat to make bridges at an angle as a rescue slide or using the plow trick to move obstacles as he can generate the wall at and position he has learned to use it as transport too laying it flat and using it like a magic carpet he is the team's short range transport specialist he can fly them longer distances but as the field offers no protection from the elements they will usually travel in a vehicle carried on the wall.

This is only done in extremis as the field is not the fastest method of travel.

The Morpheum Club
 
on a quiet street in central London is a classic town house belonging to a singular club founded by Sir Graham Warming who suffers from a rare medical condition that causes him to lapse into periodic comas in which his body is seemingly kept in suspended animation the first time he fell into a coma  in 1810 he awoke 50 years later un-aged to find the world much different.
 
His wealth was much greater due to the powers of compound interest for the next several years he learnt all he could of the new world he met several other individuals who had similar experiences immortals time travelers and dimension hoppers.
 
 due to his fear of the next time he would go into stasis he established the Morpheum club a place to maintain his body during his suspensions and provided with an in house librarian and historians who would create a definitive history for him. the Morpheum club is now a home away from home for the temporally or reality displaced with several specialists who help people adjust to the current time line the library has the finest collection of current events, histories, futuries and otherries in the world maintained by specialist librarians and historians  the kitchen is superb and the chef is an expert at historical cuisine and the club has a very interestingly stocked wine cellar. the sleeping sir warmings is attended to in a bunker beneath the club and the upper floors contain a number of rooms for members without other accommodation.

Elias Sauer is a newbie to the Super villain scene only just having received his powers he says from a radioactive Fossil tooth.
 
 
he is able to turn into a reptile man stronger faster and more durable than a normal man. He is also able to breathe under water his main power is his ability to elongate his neck almost 30 feet either whipping it around to smash enemies or deliver a ferocious bite.
 
 
Except this is all a lie Elle Sawyer is an undercover UNTIL agent with remarkable shape shifting powers she can change her appearance is almost invulnerable and doesn't need to breath eat or sleep.
 
 
She's joined the team to build her villain rep in the hopes of getting into a bigger organization she's hoping that coelacanth can get her an intro to VIPER.

Cecil Lowell Kampf used to be a badass at least that's what he would tell you at great length once he had a few beers in him. He claims to have been a navy seal, a underwater demolition expert in Vietnam, an oil rig roughneck and deep-sea construction specialists. surprisingly it's actually true. he just doesn't look it any more a fail and skinny old man with a raspy voice with a persistent wet cough. He was much bigger and healthier looking even at his age but that was before he got lung cancer could have been from the toxic crap he got exposed to on the oil rigs or agent orange or maybe just his cigar habit.
 
 
He lost his job and went through many painful treatments but it still wasn't looking at lasting another 6 six months of coughing up blood stuck in a hospice. That's when he heard from an old SEAL team buddy. The Organization he worked for could fix him if he had the money. Cecil sold everything he owned and he just couldn't make the money.
 
 
So being the resourceful man he was Cecil robbed a bank. But a half dead geriatric wasn't going to intimidate any one so that option was out the window instead Cecil broke into his old work place and stole their extreme depth diving suit. A huge armored monstrosity standing over 9 feet tall and featuring an array of scary tools and pincers.
 
 
The unit was slow moving but relentless Cecil picked a branch on the beach front and literally walked out of the ocean tore his way into the branch filled a duffel with loot and walked out with a full swat team firing on him. Not that it did them any good but Armour designed for the pressure of the deep ocean just shrugged it off. Cecil walked back into the ocean and disappeared.
 
 
That was the start of the Coelacanth’s Crime spree gaining his Nom'd Crime after a marine life savvy reporter compared the with its thick armour plates to the armored appearance of bony fish a living Fossil from the cretaceous era
 
Cecil raised enough from his crimes to fund the experimental treatment his old buddies organization turned out to be VIPER and restored to good health and reinvigorated by the thrills of his crimes Cecil worked as a freelancer for them in exchange for upgrades in the suit.
 
 
He was invited to join the team after several successful years as a solo and Mercenary villain. As it's good to have support and he likes Aquatic crimes.
 
 
The suit is filled with a liquid breathing medium which not only helps Cecil’s damaged lungs but makes it very hard to stun him due to its shock absorbing properties.

Reading some of Christopher Lees Obituaries after yesterday I find myself thinking about real people who would make for interesting pulp heroes.
 
In lee's case RAF intelligence officer seconded to the SAS (possibly one of the inspirations for James bond) , expert fencer, multilingual, professional actor and Stuntman direct descendant of Charlemagne.

After the highly publicized capture of Hugh Coffer the Nowhere Man a prolific serial killer who was only discovered when he attempted to kidnap a victim with a previously unknown mutant power . the Horror show of his DCC filled with artfully arranged mutilated corpses caused a mass panic about what people where storing in their DCC. followed by it being a major plot point on TV shows until it becomes a worn out trope.
 
the war on drugs is essentially lost over night when anyone can walk over a border with a metric tonne of drugs in their pocket.
 
DCC are banned on all federally regulated transporty methods after the first incident when soem oen accidentally opens one on a plane fortunatly they where storing a motorcycle not a back hoe.
 
bank robberies and terrorist attacks where a full arsenal can be easily smuggled into a secure compound for that matter DCC as terrorist weapon fill a large capacity DCC with Water or sand etc and empty it in a confined space .
 
i imagine the manufacturers would be required either to provide a means of detection or to very strictly license sales

Captain Terra
 
Capt. Terry Hauptmann USMC volunteered for an experimental super-soldier program. the process implanted an advanced ultra compact super computer linked to hardwired reflex enhancements and cybernetic sensory upgrades.
 
the process was extremely successful he became with his super human reflexes and the implanted computers ability to process data giving him both a tactical and strategic ability.
 
While captain Hauptmann was always a patriot the implanted computer opened his mind his ability to handle information was incredible and as he learned more and was able to see the interconnections of the vast quantity of data he could access and realized that he couldn't just be an agent for one country but had to work for the whole world to avoid the Disaster he could see coming he went AWOL and became Captain Terra performing missions globally  before he found The last Chance

A tiny field mouse Rous has the ability to grow to massive size growing to almost 6 feet in length with extreme strength and durability. because of his diminutive normal stature Rous is able to act as a scout able to get into all but the most secure locations. because he spends most of his time in his tiny normal form enemies tend to overlook him and many think that reports of the Rodent Of Unusual Size is just a Urban Legend until he strikes.

A few years ago during the Teacup pig Fad Teresa Cupertino most ardent desired was for one. She bought one from a breeder only there was two problems there is no such thing as a teacup pig and the so called breeder was nothing of the kind he was a Animal liberationist desperate to get money so he could flee the country.
 
A month later Teresa had a very rapidly growing full size sow. Not just a sow but an angry one that bit her. After the bite things got strange it turns out buttercup the pig was an experimental subject in a program called High Intensity Growth Hormones optimizing Nutrition Texture Health & ethically husbanding organisms genetics
 
H. I. G. H. O. N. T. H. E. H. O. G. used growth hormones genetic engineering and in vitro nutritional supplements to produce the perfect pig for factory farming. Unfortunately for Teresa exposure to Buttercups tainted body fluids gave her a dose of the experimental serums used and Teresa found her self changed.
 
Teresas powers manifested as the ability to change size while she isn't able to shift a huge amount only about 50% shrinking down to under 3 feet tall or turning onto a almost 9 ft hulking brute. At 3 feet Teresa is faster and more agile but not very strong tthe little pig is her goto form for escaping a bad situation she will shrink down don a disguise and go we we we all the way home.
 
Her larger firm is a hulking ogre like being intimidating and destructive she is hard to hurt and can smash through barriers made of anything straw, sticks or brick.
 
Teacup does triple duty in her smaller form she acts as a scout using her size shift she can easily shift her appearance or get into small spaces.
 
Normal size she occasionally acts as honey trap.
 
And big piggy is the team brick.

Again not a gun but a force multiplier the Explorer camera  is a tactical camera ball that can be thrown into a room to give a 360 view of the environment straight to a smartphone. It should be in service with 100 police departments across the US later this years.
