    The Tick

I've searched but I cannot find any fan rendering of The Tick Perhaps I've just not searched well. Any pointers?
  2. Re: overwhelmed Ah, thank you so very much. Finally someone understands just how flummoxed I am The Basic System book is, kinda sorta, the same as Sidekick mentioned above? It's replacement? Sidekick was 5th perhaps? Basic is the same but 6th? I believe my FLGS has a copy of Basic. wiki is your friend. I see that Basic is, indeed, the replacement for Sidekick. Yes DI was a fun system. I have always been unhappy that the genre wasn't/isn't very well supported. I suppose it's because it's much harder to do scenarios. Equipment is easy, background too, but scenarios... We leaned toward the action end as, I think, any RPG must. I loved the Libyan nuclear bomb scenario in DI. Kinda on topic these day I've been thinking of using Shadowrun mission scenarios for DI. Certainly not all of them would work, and those that do will require obvious tinkering, but it seems they do the closest to espionage style games. Even, perhaps, some of their scenario books. Delta Green might work, nukes replace Nyarlathotep? Are there any Hero scenario books for an espionage style campaign? Or something close enough that they can be converted? Something not totally action oriented. by the way, off topic what does [Nonp] mean?
  3. Re: overwhelmed Please simplify folks. Overwhelmed here Which book is the rule book(s)? What is it's proper title? Do I need the rule books and a separate character book plus Dark Champions? Total number of books required please. If I understand correctly, always uncertain, I need 3 plus Dark Champions just to get going? Or Sidekick? Would Sidekick replace all three of the above books? Would Dark Champions be compatible with Sidekick? Sidekick would be a much simplified version of Champions 6th? (5th?)
  4. Re: overwhelmed Thanks. 4ed was Fuzion and I don't see that as Hero, similar but not the same. Previous editions provided you with all the rules you needed in whichever world book you bought. Champions had plenty of optional books of course, like villains and such, but the Champions book was what you needed to build a character and play that character. Same with Danger International/Espionage (which, if I remember correctly, only had the one adventure as support material). So I need what exactly? With Dark Champions do I need a character building book? DA only provides character packages and special rules? I will finish reading it but I'm, ahem, a little overwhelmed by the whole thing uh... which in all the plethora of books is the rulebook? Is this the two volume book that Karmakaze wrote about? I think, if I understand correctly, that Dark Champions is a 5th edition product? Will I see a lot of changes between it and 6th edition? Is there a 5th edition pdf I could buy? I looked at DriveThruRPG and did not see one.
  5. So here I am returning to Hero from those long ago days of 3rd edition. Yeah, old and arthritic, so anyway I purchased Dark Champions. I figure it's the latest version of Espionage/Danger International and... then found out there are no rules on how to play. Sure I could use the old 3rd edition rules, basically I think they are the same but... what is the least you need to play? Is there one rulebook that does what all the 3rd edition books did? Or will combat, vehicle chases, characters (got that one) all require different books?

    Dueling

Re: Dueling I don't have 6th and I'm not sure exactly what the differences are between 5th and 6th other than comeliness has been removed I believe that my local friendly gaming store might have a used... no a previously owned copy of 5th edition ultimate martial artist. This is obviously the wrong discussion group to ask the question about edition differences so I'll adjourn to another for that. But thank you for the suggestions. I might, after perusing UMA 5th, be pestering you with additional questions.

    Dueling

Re: Dueling Cinematic. En Garde! is what I would like to mimic but with a broader range of options and a wilder world in which to play. And yes I know this is a cheat double posting but...

    Dueling

Re: Dueling Used a core ... from page 25? Would that be 6th ed and which core book? It seems quite confusing about which is a core book since we are talking combat.

    Dueling

Re: Dueling Good. Perhaps you can put that into words with fewer syllables for me? Is there a product called Fencing Martial Art? I assume it might be in one of the combat books? Would it provide a cinematic fencing style?
