  1. Re: Your superhero games, comic-based or comic-opposed? I'm kinda stuck in between. I like playing in the comic book world, but some reality based things can't be overlooked. My character actually paid points for a cell phone and a laptop, just because I can't see why any modern day rich super would not have either. That and every now and then there comes in the question of, hey, that new armor is great powered armored man, but why don't you use your talents to solve the energy crisis in California?
  2. Re: I made the GM cry.... Ah yes, the "bad guys need X amount of artifacts to do bad things" plot. Our GM modeled a long term campaign after this, and after we had the first item the party deemed that my character might as well teleport it into the sun to ensure the apocolypse would never come. The look on our gm's face was so sad we reversed our decision and said, "Or we could just keep it in the base vault. Nothing can get into there anyway..."
  3. As some of you may know, I have a shapechanging spy character named Paradox. Well, until last week, I never actually got to play it (our gm was too busy working on his education, as if real life is that important). Well, anyway, my weak martial artist (my best manuver being a 7d6 martial strike) took out the brick. How you might ask? A 30" move through with a news van.
  4. Re: Calling all Mages... You left out Dr. Black and Dr. White, mystical supers from UNTIL.
  5. Re: What would your character do (65?) -Recruiting pitch Paradox- call them up. Paradox is specifically a spy for the CIA on superhuman affairs. Sounds like the perfect gig to him. Jade- Wouldn't join out of loathing for Witchcraft, but would offer his teleportation services for the good of the cause.
  6. Re: Things a wise super hero should NEVER say "Don't worry, I'm the brick, I can soak it..."
  7. Re: Such Wonderful Toys… I was disappointed though that I did not see the build for two gadgets I have been working on: a cell phone, and a laptop computer with wireless internet. I mean, using the internet gives a character access to tons of skills, how do you build that?

    Atlantis

Re: Atlantis Aenomia- A water wierd bound to protect the city of Atlantis. You could give her hydrokenesis, water desolidification (make the sfx that affects her electricity, which is risky to use under the ocean), give her a nnd suffication that she can use while desolid, some regeneration and really high swim speeds. You could also give her 50% physical damage reduction since she's made entirely of water. For tactics have her tk someone (a non-brick) and drag him away so she can drown him in her whirlpool, stay desolid and keep pestering the party, or do hit and run tactics. For story purposes have her as a magical guardian that can only be summoned by having a seal broken, and if the party can close the seal again then she's banished back to her plane.
  9. Re: What Would Your Character Do? #63 Paradox- relax and just talk to the kid...then do a spinning kick to the back of the head, knock him out and turn him over to the CIA and let them deal with it. Jade- totally take the kid's side at first (he's a kid himself who's 500 yrs old), but then just by being with the kid for awhile probably just slowly convince the kid on what he's going to miss.
  10. Re: What are the most annoying player habits! does that mean female characters can sell back their summon?
  11. Re: Your Character's Greatest Fear? Jade- he still retains his childhood fears of being eaten by large creatures, but his largest fear is losing his magical ring (and thus losing about 2/3 of his magic, and more importantly, his immortality). On a subconcious level, he secretly fears having to grow up.
  12. Re: Real World Issues in the Game World My character can survive in outspace and can actually reach Mars, and I've been wondering on whether or not volunteering my services to NASA would just freak the GM out too much.
  13. I know most people don't mix real world issues into the gaming world b/c that would just make lots of headaches, but has anyone attempted that? Such as having their super hero team join the hunt for Osama? Or have their pet scientist research ways for clean modes of transportation, or possibly the cure for cancer? Or maybe having a super explore the moon/mars for NASA so they don't waste so much money sending up robots themselves.
  14. Speaking of annoying player habits and anime....it gets somewhat annoying when my group plays a serious campaign and all of a sudden a player brings an anime character into the world. It wasn't until I started role-playing that I discovered what anime was, and subsequantly, discovered how much I hate it.
  15. Hmmm...now that would be interesting. If a character had a chance to kill Takophanes, would they take it? (dunno how they could kill Tak, let's just assume it's a gm plot device right now)
