Heh... I've actually considered something this extreme, but I do realize that game balance is an issue.

One thing I should note is that I'm also reverting to old Danger International range mods. Those are way more punishing and appropriate for "realistic" gun combat. -1 per 3" (6 meters) after the first 6. Not doubling -1 7-12 meters, -2 12-18 meters, etc. Double the modifiers if autofire (or multiple attacks)... so at any kind of range, you start to miss with most of your rounds... which again, is pretty realistic. Heck... 6 meters, almost 20 feet, is pretty much handgun range , and beyond that you better be REALLY good.

Hmmm... maybe it is worth going back to those old Autofire rules... +4 OCV if full auto, +2 for 5 round burst, etc. That would make things "gross" at close range, but quickly move into mostly missed shots as the distance increases.

Man I loved DI back in the day. I'm looking at my, still in good condition, Dennis Loubet '84 cover as I type. Single best game book I've ever owned.

This is close to what I'd do.  If you really want to accurately simulate rate of fire per phase, give semiautomatic weapons Autofire, and give fully automatic weapons 5x Autofire.  I'm undecided as to whether I'd crank up the OCV penalty for semiauto, just to reflect having to jerk the trigger for each shot.

Be careful what you wish for, though.  I once played a Danger Int campaign that achieved TPK in four segments under the existing rules.

Reminder: Per 6e2 p77, "Unless the GM rules otherwise, characters cannot buy Combat Skill Levels specifically with Multiple Attack."

Obviously the GM should probably not be ruling otherwise for his villains unless he's doing the same for players.  To avoid the problem, entirely, just buy combat skill levels with the things that'll be used during Multiple Attack ... OR buy OCV and/or DCV taken with the Only When Using Multiple Attack (-1ish, perhaps?) limitation.

I'd use Multiple Attack ... to Grab those who need to be grabbed ... and squeeze some that are already grabbed ... and disarm (i..e grab the gun and take it; not the 'Disarm' maneuver) some who need to be disarmed.

i.e. No need to build a power for this, just use an existing maneuver.

Yup, it's going to cost a lot of END to do lots of things with TK (unless you bought Reduced END) ... and yes, the more things you do the tougher it'll be to make all of them 'stick' ... especially if you're actually grabbing (and, therefore suffering grab penalties ... instead of using an Entangle whose SFX are a telekinetic grab).  But that's how it should be, IMHO.

Believe it or not I'm all in favor of having fun at the game table. This includes making on the fly rulings in the interest of time.  But when it later turns out that the on-the-fly rule wasn't actually needed because there was already a specific case rule that overrides the general rule I try very hard to point it out to everyone for future use.

Except with a spread Blast unless you slap other advantages on it he would have hit the hostages, too.

Not really. Setting aside the atrocious fake muscles, the design is only generally similar. Either the original look:

    would have been better IMO.

Its a pretty rare circumstance that a non-flying brick grabs a flying-brick. That's probably the reason Steve didn't spell out the common sense ruling for this case in the books. Regardless, the rule above should override the general grab vs movement rules which are not superpower centric - they usually assume normal characters.

Sean I would add restrainable as your wings could be fouled but you still could run, swim and jump.

I cannot recount the last time I fired up my HERO brain and counted body... since the 5er days...   Father, it's been 15 years since my last HERO session...

Tonight I introduced my regular Sunday group to HERO 6e! We are starting with the Fantasy Complete for a handful of sessions (using the pre-gens and adventure/setting from FHC). After a few sessions we will create new characters and adventure for a few more sessions!

Eventually, we are shifting to a sci-fi setting of my own creation for (what I intend/hope) will be a long-term campaign. I wanted us to get familiar before we jumped right in.

I was touching up the characters to give them some equipment using Hero Designer, and I wanted the Elf Bard to have some Elven Chainmail. I grabbed the regular chain in the prefabs, changed the weight from 'full mass' to 'half mass' and viola! Magic armor. In a couple clicks.

I like the Half-Elf Warrior Mage build! That is an ugly contender.  I picked out my favorite 8 characters that I want to use for some convention games this year. I decided the Lizard-Folk Shaman knows how to turn into a giant snake (of several varieties) or a velociraptor (as a revered animal of his clan! - yes, he has a skull from one...). I just copied out the pages from the Bestiary for quick reference. This group didn't pick the shaman... . They went with Human Barbarian, Elf Bard, Sprite Druid, the Half-Elf Warrior-Mage, and I tossed in the Human archer as an NPC.

I'm a little rusty...  but it was fun and I'm certain this group will pick it up fast.  I missed the speed chart. Seriously, I love how speed works. I also missed all the cool maneuvers and the in-play flexibility. One of the crew was looking through the book and exclaimed "you can use another character as a weapon"! I think he's sold. A couple of the GURPS people are still on the fence, but I'll win 'em over.

I mentioned above that I thought they overpowered Supes. I don't mind him being the most powerful of the JL. If they had made him the equivalent of Steppenwolf, ie toe to toe, neither gaining advantage, i would have been fine with it OR if they hadn't shown SW handling Diana and Arthur so easily, if either of them could have stood toe to toe with him seperately, I would have been fine (in the comics now, either of them might have been able to). But to basically have him be able to beat the 2 combined (and really, add cyborg and Batman into the mix) and then Superman come in and have an easier time with SW then he did with Batman in BvsS was annoying. I did love Supes showing up with the line " "Well, I believe in truth, but I'm also a big fan of justice" was awesome.

    Hiya!

Will do...once the books arrive. Where I live, it's "2 - 6 weeks"...probably closer to the 6 than the 2, but you never know.   But at least I get the PDF's to read until then! I'll try and remember to take some pics or video or something. Can't imagine what the "duty" on the batch will be when it crosses the border into Canada (hell, shipping was a couple cents under $95). Expensive hobby! Then again, if I get even a tenth of the value that I have gotten out of my BECMI box sets and 1e AD&D books...it's a steal!
