Re: Superheroes to Keep, Superheroes to Lose
I tried and failed to convince my main Champions GM to let me play versions of Matter-Eater Lad and Bouncing Boy of the Legion in his campaign. I think the concepts are really interesting and unjustly obscured by Silver-Age goofiness. (Note: I love Silver-Age goofiness.)
Another GM turned down my request to play what was essentially Krypto the Super-Dog, but not nearly as powerful.
I did get to play a take on Dynamo from T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, which was a pretty easy build as I recall. He was the only character I ever played who was a direct homage, and I probably only got away with it because no one else knew the character. Wish I could find the character sheet.
I tend to favor the lesser-known characters from the major companies these days and obscure heroes in general. I'd love to see someone try a write-up of the DC hero Captain Comet, who is one of my personal faves.
