  1. Re: Western Hero - just got a free copy Congratulations!
  2. Re: Cool take on the Golden Age: The Specialists [webcomic] Thought this looked familiar. They just finished up a Kickstarter to get the first two chapters in print to sell at cons.
  3. Re: Lex Luthor Is Worse Than Useless If memory serves, the RPG Godlike (a ww2 supers game) had something similar for the gadgeteer types.
  4. Re: Monday Morning Music Trios It's interesting how different songs can be hits in one country and not another. Or a hit in one region of a country and not the rest of it. "Hello Again" got so much airplay in my hometown that I was certain it had to have been a hit. I looked it up, and evidently it did make #20 in the US Billboard charts.
  5. Re: Monday Morning Music Trios 1. "Thela Hun Ginjeet" by King Crimson. KC were my favorite band for many years, and their Discipline album is a classic. 2. "Change" by Tears For Fears. The so-called New Wave tossed up some really interesting pop stuff. 3. "Moon Over Marin" by The Dead Kennedys. A power ballad of sorts.
  6. Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! The late-night weekend showings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show were just a way for the theater to make a little extra money. It attracted a regular crowd, and they were pretty cool, though sometimes the audience responses were a little too loud and the local fan club that performed alongside the screenings had to be asked to dial things back a bit. When that weird fight broke at the theater, they moved proceedings to a local art-house, hoping to attract similar crowds. On the first night, when the guy dressed as Dr. Frank N Furter showed up, they were too blown away by how much he looked like the original to care that he took over proceedings immediately. When he commanded the attendees to rise up and follow him into the streets, they'd do anything he said. If you're out walking late at night, and you suddenly hear a crowd muttering "don't dream it, be it" over and over, run. (The Frank N. Furter that emerged from the poster has strong mind-control powers, based around "freeing" people from their inhibitions. He's also a capable mad scientist. His goals are to have a good time, "save" people from themselves, and not get killed this time.)
  7. Re: Who are The Ultimates? I could see that, though wiping the race out and having their tech lost would have been an option there. I'd just figured somebody thought Plasmoid didn't fit the group concept for whatever reason.
  8. Re: Who are The Ultimates? I was surpised when I saw Plasmoid wasn't part of the team anymore, but I wouldn't say I miss it overly.
  9. Re: Most PCs... I'm still going with "try it and see what happens". All you lose is some time.
  10. Re: Silver Age villain concepts: The Seven Perils
  11. Re: 12 months, 12 characters. January. The Speedster
  12. Re: Silver Age villain concepts: The Seven Perils I'd probably adapt something from this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_Order
  13. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "Dangerous Type" by The Cars.
  14. Re: Galactic Champions If there were such a thing as Galactic Champions: The Animated Series, these would be perfect resources. As they are, they're still quite useful, IMO.
  15. Re: Who are The Ultimates? The short answer would be "wherever you, as the GM, want him to". The version in CV2 is proud and paranoid, and seems to be fine with the "money and fame" part of supervillainy as his way of getting back at the world, IMO.
  16. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Baywatch of Pigs Rubik's Cuban Missile Crisis Castrovania
  17. Re: What powers do these guys have? Would this be it? http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php/1865-Costume-Design-Forum-IV?highlight=skull+armor
  18. Re: blanket origin complications I came across this recently: http://masterlistsofcomplications.wikia.com/wiki/The_Master_List_of_Complications_Wiki
  19. Re: Galactic Champions I'd think they would be tailor made for a Galactic Champions resource. Space Ghost in particular.
  20. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Fighting for Truth, Justice, and the Milky Way
  21. Re: How to deal with OSLs as a power I played a character sort of like this called Karl the Night Watchman: A 250-point character (no powers) + 10 overall levels. He was a regular guy who was just really, really good at the things he did. He was meant to be a supporting character but the heroes (who had their headquarters in the building where he worked) kept coming to him for help. I had a blast playing him.
  22. Re: Foxbat airplane Yep. There's also the question of whether there's a Marvel in the Champions Universe, and would Foxbat be happy with what happened to the character with his name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxbat_(comics)
  23. Re: What powers do these guys have? Or "You Won't See Me" by The Beatles. I'd be tempted to add an Enhanced Grey suit that would allow for Limited Invisibility and Desolid.
