    "Pull!"

Re: "Pull!" It feels wierd to me to find a power that responds to a tactic used by the players. That kind of gives too much power to the mechanics doesn't it? I think I'd handle it a bit differently. If a guy is tossed in the air, and then actually hit by a shot, it'd be devistating, treat it as a suprise maneuver, give the heroes damage bonuses for stun and body since it's basically like being cold-cocked. The guy may be seriously injured or killed, then have them deal with the consequences. It's like holding a guy down in a fight and then having buddies kick him into unconsciousness. Fighting is one thing, the other is like aggravated assault. That maneuver would be great with robots, but used with humans it is bordering on cruelty. Even in the UFC fighting guys know when to stop. Check their disads since it could lead to death. Am I soft in my old age? Maybe... EJ
  2. Re: All the superhero PCs I've ever played There have been so many, here are my favorites. 3. Re: What are the most annoying player habits! I hate it when a player doesn't show up, but even more if he doesn't even call, then when you do get ahold of him - he's sick, you couldn't call for that? I've had guys show up from over an hour away only to have a guy flake out. I don't have enough players to comfortably run an adventure when you are missing a fourth of your group because they are all just learning the rules. I have come to the realization that I just need to call on the day of the game. EJ
  4. I run a game where the average villain Damage class is 12, the average hero dc is 11, does anyone have any suggestions as to where the min/max/average defenses and cons for nrg projectors should be? Bricks seem to be doing all right, but where should theirs be, avg dc 14 or so... EJ
  5. So in reading through my huge stack of Hero books I found maybe 3 pages total on Primus, two of those being a character writeup. I'm looking for much more info since I'm thinking of running U.N.T.I.L. as a quasi villainous organization much like the real U.N. hehe. so I'd obviously need a viable option especially on U.S. soil. Anyone got any ideas? EJ
  6. If an agent fires a blaster with autofire at a character who has a force field, what happens if the first damage roll stunns the character? Does his field protect him from the second and third shots? Couldn't find the answer in FReD. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. EJ
  7. Re: Electrical power affects??? Well, I am the GM, and plan on running Viper so, this one character would possibly be able to turn a bunch of viper agents blaster inoperable, how fun would that fight be after that? Suggestions on limiting effect of power? EJ
  8. Would the power dispell vs. any electronic device and suppress electronic device affect a Viper blaster or other focus? How about powered armor? need help... EJ
  9. Looking at Freon in the Viper book, he has pyrophobia, do you think he would take an job where there is a high probability that a 'firey' hero will show since he is in the same city. Do you think he could be talked into it by Viper playing the, he can't handle your powers, you strike first...theory? Second, how many Viper agents are a somewhat balanced fight for a team of 3 350 pt heroes. One brick, two energy projectors. The Viper book was kinda vague as to the makeup of a normal assault squad. EJ
  10. Re: In this issue of Millennium City Full Contact... Concerning your example martial artist, I think it stacks up like this... #1 is more gifted naturally #2 Does more with what he's got Much like atheletes. It seems that #2 has trained much more and would be farther along the path in martial arts "knowledge". If they were to fight the results could come out even or favorable in either direction. I think that looking at it the same way we do sports, one could say that #1 never lived up to his potential, even if he defeated #2 consistantly. I would think that #2 would be a much more sought after teacher and young fighters would tend to emulate and admire him more. Adding a storyline of sorts, #1 may be viewed in the same light as say Barry Bonds in baseball, clearly a top 3 player, but people resent him because he doesn't seem to work as hard as other players. People love an underdog. EJ
  11. I'm just getting back into using the hero system. Its been about 17 years and have found that I'm having a problem keeping a few things straight from phase to phase. Does anyone have a good system in use to track Combat skill Levels, I find that it's a bit confusing to remember who's used what? Should I limit their uses? I'm considering using some kind of counters- say green for O and red for D. Suggestions? EJ
  12. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... After my friend Brent's character got knocked out the player tossed his character sheet (in a sheet protector as we protected all longtime characters sheets) on to the table and sat back in disgust. Well, we had a one shot player that day, a funny as heck Scottsman named Ron who immediately turned to him and asked "Can I have your plastic?" My friends face darkened as he sat dumbfounded and even more mad, but the rest of us were on the ground laughing at the look on ol' Brent's face. Thanks Ronnie! EJ
  13. Re: How many is enough?? I'm starting a campaign with just 3 players (if the one doesn't flake!) I will be running at least one NPC per session and from time to time I give the players some villains to play, even let them create some, for villain teams. I am looking for suggestions for plotlines. I should be able to run some good VIPER storylines, and small villain groups, but it gets sticky when one of the heroes is an NPC whom the others will turn to for advice. Only three players means a smaller pool of ideas, i guess we'll see how it goes! EJ
  14. Re: Superhero Images I'll be beginning a new campaign soon and have uncovered some of the art from a campaign almost 20 years ago. I am having some new art done for my game by a guy who did some work for Ultimate Martial artist. For now I can only post the old pics. EJ
  15. undefined Does anyone know where I can get Champions character sheets that have a space for a picture of the hero? Or should I just build my own?
