  1. Hi everybody! Hi Dr. Nick! Person A wants to hit person B and knock them back into person C OR Person A wants to hit person B and knockback them into location D. Where in FREd is this found? (I remember it vaguely in BBB, but that books is in about 30 sections. Well, I remember it from somewhere in 4E, and BBB feels right.)
  2. Re: Working on New Constantinople Not necessarily. There's no reason a member of the communist party can't have criminal ties. It wouldn't be the first time in history there's been a corrupt politician, nor a political person with ties to crime, nor someone who uses people opposed to their own interests. Of course it is an option.
  3. Re: DC veterans, help me pick current DC titles!
  4. Re: "Look, up in the sky! It's Super Saint!" Christian-themed heroes Thanks! Repped.

  6. Re: Champions Universe Movie Casting Call I think Bruce Campbell would be the best at Foxbat. If the man can fight a giant chicken in the Hercules series and stoicly mention the "Boomstick" he carries around, I would love to see him declare "This is my Amazing Ping-Pong Ball Gun."* *Though, for copyright reasons, he may have to call it his Amazing Table Tennis Ball Gun. EDIT: Though it may be interesting to see Michael Keaton grab a female super and say seriously "I'm Foxbat" and then kiss her.
  7. Re: DC veterans, help me pick current DC titles! Duuude, that's a big budget! If I had that much money, I'd be buying more HERO books myself. But have fun. I was a big DC fan back in the days when comics cost from $.75 - $1.50. (I prefer that art style too, not the modern stuff, but that's me.) From what you have listed, I personally would do JSA (maybe the classified), JLA, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. It depends on the stories for Action. By the way, what is 52? (And please don't tell me "DC 1-upping Area 51.")
  8. Re: [Character] Prime: Hyperintelligent Monkey With A Combat Suit Well, the title caught my eye and I enjoyed the quote, but I don't get a positive feel for the character (and that's not just because of the VPP). Part of it is because the monkey would be covered up in armor, and where's the fun in that? Another part is because it seems to be filling the Dr. Silverback role, but with a heavier combat feel. The KS VPP just feels munchkiny and a cop-out to purchasing skills. Though, I must admit that when it comes to monkeys, I'm biased towards Spider Monkey from BBB.
  9. Re: Working on New Constantinople Here's a restaurant idea: The International - This five star restaurant has several world-class chefs. A plethora of elegant food from European and Asian countries (as well as some good ole U.S. favorites) can be found on their menus. Waiters and waitresses dress in appropriate themed outfits to help enchant the mood. The wait staff is taught the basics of foreign languages to pronounce each menu item correctly, as well as to give its history. While very large for a restaurant, reservations sometimes have to be made up to a week in advance. Adding to the fame of The International, several chefs have been invited to compete on Japan's Iron Chef and more than one has been a winner. Option: The owner of The International is a member of the Communist Party and has ties to the Russian Mafia.
  10. Re: Working on New Constantinople Looks good!
  11. Re: Hydro (Millenium City Hero) No, I don't, which stinks because he's making a cameo in my MC game. And before you say "well thanks for nothin' Kirb :tsk:" I just want to say that I'm responding so that this will be bumped and hopefully someone with the correct answer that missed it the first time will see it this time around. See?
  12. Re: "Look, up in the sky! It's Super Saint!" Christian-themed heroes For me, since the word "angel" means "messenger" / "messenger of God" I would do something different. Having stated that, feathery winged angels are a comic book staple so some GMs might enjoy that aspect; I personally wouldn't and would rather use Christians that are supers and decide to use a Christian theme. YMMV.
  13. Re: Concepts you wish your players would play While these opinions are nice and all, could someone add "Concepts you wish your players would play" into the posts?
  14. Re: ***Superhype News Report*** Were you going to expand on this news report? Or did you just want to let us know?
  15. Re: "Look, up in the sky! It's Super Saint!" Christian-themed heroes I had created a character nearly two years ago in this thread though nothing came from it. The Champions Universe definitely needs some characters who could affect the vulnerabilities to holy attacks/powers that many evil NPCs have.
  16. Re: Concepts you wish your players would play Is it just me, or does anyone else get told the pages can't be found/loaded?

  18. Re: Millennium City walled or not Too true. Time to go do something more important: Laundry!
  19. Re: Millennium City walled or not Hmm, your sig has: That's just funny. You can't (or is it won't?) accept that a large part of a fictional society isn't opposed to something as simple as an automated highway or cameras to catch criminals. Why? Simply because the GM or because Millennium City doesn't put it at the forefront of all issues? Grow up. Neither comics nor Champions based games are going to concentrate on all aspects of a city. If you're dealing with supers vs supers, you don't need to put in aspects of the Mayor or City Hall or teen angst in every issue. We're going to just have to agree to disagree. You'll be set in your belief that I'm a bad GM/author because I find no need to bring up the issue (non-issue?) in my MC game, and I'll be set that you're whining about loss of privacy, governmental 'control', and misperceiving privileges as if they're rights. Oh well.
  20. Re: Concepts you wish your players would play I haven't asked any players to play a certain archetype, but I have stated which ones I'm open to and not open to. For example, in my MC campaign, I'm taking one application at a time. I'll tell the person applying [paraphrasing] "(1) No archer, (2) no martial artist, no mentalist and (3) no flame-powered energy blaster, no bird or Egyptian theme." And then tell them I'm opened to a brick, speedster, metamorph or power armored theme (sometimes a mystic, but if done more like Witchcraft/Talisman as opposed to Takofanes build). If a GM asked me to play a certain type, I'd probably be very up to it. In FtF games (which I did for 5+ years) I generally played a martial artist or a weapons master. I had only two bricks (at 250 points) and an EB that I played for a little while, but not longer than a year. With HeroCentral, I've been able to expand on the types of characters I've played. Heck, with my Ravenswood game, I was able to NPC Dr. Silverback for a little while. It's got me thinking about various gorilla themed characters I've been itching to play Dr. Silverback himself (but he's 610 points - not a great chance of being allowed that!), Gorilla Grond: a 4-armed gorilla with exceptional strength (not really Grond's 90, but maybe 50) and dexterity. Grape Ape (a flying gorilla who wears a purple cape) and even an updated version of Spider Monkey (from BBB, a small monkey with mental powers). To sum up an answer for your question, no, I haven't, but as a player, I'd be willing to as long as the type requested wasn't something I couldn't stand.
  21. Re: from little plot seeds, mighty games do grow: Share you ideas! Five Deadly Venoms "Five Deadly Venoms. The Centipede, The Snake, The Scorpion, The Lizard, and The Toad are a truly invincible force." Your PCs find paperwork that starts off with these two sentences. After reading through the information, they easily discover that "The Snake" is Taipan. Now the question arises: Who are the other four? Are they clones? Are they similar? Do they all have 12 SPEED? Will the four try to rescue Taipan?
  22. Re: Millennium City walled or not An "onslaught" of sarcasm? Wow. Was it really an "onslaught"? A vigorous attack? As for your opinions, you'll have to understand that you really don't rate high enough in my life for me to track down what you've said elsewhere. (Maybe I should hire a government watcher to see what all you've said?) My responses weren't just about your comments. You really aren't the center of my attention. And it's Cheerios, with a capital "C" and two "e"'s. You see (well, hopefully) I'm not upset, I'm laughing at anyone who complains about the montrosity of this fictional city. As for specifically Millennium City, all I hear is "whine, whine, whine, let's create paranoia with a boogeyman." Since Millennium City doesn't state or even hint at the woes and oppression you've suggested, it only exists in your mind. Now, if you'll excuse me, there are these people that keep insisting that the government is covering up aliens at Area 51 that I have to dispose of.
  23. Re: Millennium City walled or not You know, in my Millennium City game, there's never been a problem from the NPCs nor the PCs about the tech level. Heck, one of the PC's only form of movement is his feet (well, boots really), so he uses the People Mover all the time to go from point A to point B, in costume! Somehow, the government hasn't taken time out to log his every move and invade his public privacy. As for the V-Chips, this hasn't been a problem, except for this one time at the beginning of the campaign when a vehicle with a V-Chip (and occupied by VIPER agents) was able to turn it off and do a hit and run. Fortunately, it was so early in the game that no PC/Player ever noticed it.
