  1. Re: Answers & Questions Q: How did you lose your eye? A: Well, My brain is angered because it's not fried. It is tasty, so my stomach is arguing the point.
  2. Re: Enter Fluffy (or "Aw, can't we keep 'em?") Tamlyn- Would be impressed at it's ability to scare off potential threats and shape. She would keep him. Gwendolyn - 'Aww, puppy!' Can we keep, can we huh huh?!" She'd want to keep him/her and it would be difficult to convince her that they need to get rid of it.
  3. Re: Why don't you play online? Whoops, I didn't even mean to. I guess I found it in a search and forgot about it while reading through.
  4. Re: Unwanted advances Tamlyn - Would be mildly impressed that the human managed to flirt tactfully and may even accept a date. (she's bisexual) Gwendolyn - It would go right over her head. A coffee date would have her suggesting they go out for icecream. Any attempts at kissing would earn them a really confused look. not because of gender, but because she is a child at heart.
  5. Re: An exercise in the creative process Well, I know my character Tamlyn (whom is a shapeshifter, who holds a drain stun-only power). Would be great as an undercover police officer/detective (or an assassin if it's that sort of game). She has mimicry and other such complimentary skills. She's arrogant, due to the fact that she is a fae, but thrown out of the fairy courts leaving her more than a little bitter. Working for the police gives her the strong command structure she needs to feel motivated and an outlet for her natural gifts. I can also see Billy the pizza delivery boy with super speed who is desperate to get a pizza to the customer on time, but always manages to bungle right into whatever (super) battle is going on at the time. "I swear, I'm not a hero! I'm just trying to make a delivery!" Hope these help. I'll try to think of more tomorrow.
  6. Re: The cranky thread Tucson. I doubt my new managers will be any brighter, but at least it'll be a change of scenery.
  7. Re: The cranky thread Because of the way the store is not selling enough, shipment has been cut from twice a week to once a week. This means that the need for Stock Associates goes down (as does our hours) which were already low. As if this isn't bad enough, a third stock associate has come to the store. Looks like my fifteen hour weeks are going to be trimmed even more. It's either that or push to become a full time sales associate, which I refuse to do, because having mild panic attacks at work are not my cup of tea. (there isn't a lot of structure in the sales associate job and I need it or I start feeling out of control). Thank god I'm moving soon.
  8. Re: Why don't you play online? I play online, but apparently a different style of compared to everyone's, according to the posts I've seen. I play through Ventrilo and Maptool. Vent a program that allows us to speak and hear each other and maptool allows for macros and the table top gaming experience without being in the same room. It's similar to most face to face games, except the computer calculates the rolls and we're not in the same room. Add to that webcamera's and we've got the visuals for GM and player facial reactions. I love it. We play every other Wednesday night (It helps that the GM and the other players are friggin' awesome). I get as much satisfaction out of playing online as I do playing face to face, maybe even more so, because we seem to focus more on the game rather then spending most of the session on chitchat. It is not for everyone obviously, but I would recommend giving it a fair chance.
  9. Re: How would Stronghold imprison your character? Tamlyn's would be fairly easy. Teleportation suppression and don't let the guards within touching distance of her (and warn them that she is a shapeshifter). Of course, the first time if she really wanted out, she would find a way to kill herself and wake up in the morgue, but that trick would only work once I suspect. Gwendolyn would be easy as well, just take away all of her foci.
  10. Re: A Game Of Questions Who are the Lakers?
  11. Re: I'd rather be me than my character because... I'd rather be Lauren then me, because she's a babe with a nice house and a hot pseudo-boyfriend. I'd rather be me then Lauren, because her mother's dead, her father is a jerk and her friends think she's crazy (in the bad, knock her out so she doesn't hurt them or herself sort of way).
  12. Re: Champions Babies Tamlyn would become a whole lot friendlier. Probably hit Tarot with one of her powers in a tantrum and play around with her shapeshift (look Faerie! Look Kitty!). Lauren would become the most adorable little girl you ever seen and if you ever try to leave the room she would look at you with big brown sad eyes. Gwen... would be be pretty much unchanged, except that now she looks like an six year instead of just acting like one.
  13. Re: What Non-Fiction Book have you just finished? Stiff by Mary Roach Reviews the history and current use of human cadavers in science. It is humorous, but remains respectful of the dead. I have read it three times and would recommend it to anyone who isn't too squeamish.
  14. Re: Hero vs Hero combats: Fun Stuff! Funny you should mention this. Our last Buffy/Dark Champions session nearly came down to a Hero Vs. Hero fight that didn't meet any of the criteria above. Of course, that had to due with opposing psych limitations: hates demons/vamps (kills on sight) & won't kill vampires unless she knows they are killers. It came to a standoff to revival a western as Lauren stood over the body of a subdued vampire with her crossbow out daring Stewart to attempt to stake the vamp. If Phillip hadn't intervene and/or Stewart didn't already have another idea to get around this, there would have been a big blowout.
  15. Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game New mm secondary and new controller sets! Looking forward to it.
  16. Re: WWYCD: "Tell me about your teammates." Tamlyn - Is vaguely irritated by everyone in the group. But especially Tarot, because after living for so long Tarot should know better. She has gained a recent respect for Speculation (mentalist) and Gila (our brick), because they showed potential and the willingness to reach for it. Tamlyn is currently bitter and it is reflected in the opinions of her teammates, she is gradually growing out of it. Gwendolyn - She loves everyone! Except for pirates, she hates them!
  17. Re: A Game Of Questions Are you saying you didn't?
  18. Re: Jokes It's commenting how some Vegan's attitude is extremely Holier than thou. Obviously not always the case, but still...
  19. Re: WWYCD? "Once more, with Justice" Gwendolyn - A fluttery song, with lots of silly sweet moments. "It's strange and different being here, But I can smile with the new day" Vera - A darker song, simplistic, yet full background music. Wishing to be great, but doomed to fail. "I watch them pass by and they cannot see The woman I am and who I wish to be" Lauren - Strong ballad, done to a full orchestra at it's peak and just a solitary piano at it's most intense. It follows her uncertainty about the path she's chosen and how things could have been different. "It could have been so different had she lived He would love me like a daughter And what if he did? Would I be ready for this death Someone else could take my place Would they have more strength?"
  20. Re: That Autograph Isn't Mine! Lauren - Would call her public relations person (Claudia). She would probably find it mildly amusing, if they weren't making her look bad. Tamlyn - Would be incredibly annoyed and would track down this person and tell them in no uncertain terms that they would end the charade or she would be forced to do something unpleasant. Gwendolyn - Would be confused at first, "Look that's me! But wait I'm here... how can I be here and there at the same time? Ooh, maybe me is the me that lives in the mirror! She escaped, good for her!"
  21. Re: You, or your PC? I usually end up with character that take one of my personality traits and magnify it a couple times. (I don't even intend to with I start, that's just where the end up). Gwendolyn - She doesn't understand why people can be cruel or mean. She knows that some people are, she questions why. Vera - Extremely quiet, with a strong sarcastic streak to protect herself. I was nervous in the group, afraid of speaking so obviously the character didn't speak much. She lived inside of her head. I am planning on starting her up again, and it should be interesting trying to fill that role again. Lauren - There is no black and white in her world. Vamps aren't evil by birth, but forced to by enviroment. The "good guys" deserve as much watching as the bad guys. She is slowly learning to trust the group she is with, but it's still going to be a while.
  22. Re: Your character's pet peeve(s) Tamlyn - Mortals and their silly assumptions. Lauren - Anyone treating her with condescion. And men who can't be controlled through bribery or sweet words. (she's getting over that last one, slowly, but surely. )
  23. Re: A Game Of Questions Well, was the person a she or a he?
  24. Re: Need some name help: French Supers Libeulle "Dragonfly" good for a flier or a martial artist.
  25. Re: Approved by the Comics Code Authority Good point, though I suspect she would just get the Mystique treatment. She has a female best friend and we never see who bears the kid.
