ya know, winged folk are just one of those fantasy concepts that can jump over to supers. So I'm cross posting this one.

. . . If the word "Kawai!" could ever be used of a Kendoka, this is her.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
All from our Teen Champions campaign:
"Ewww...I've got monk all over me."
-----
Potential (gadgeteer): "...so when I was thinking about how we can make Tranquility [the monk] a bit better able to take a hit, it occured to me to create a spray-on polymer compound -- similiar to what's used in flak jackets, personal armor, and so on -- that we could use on his robes. It'd deflect most small-arms fire and some larger stuff, too."
Gestalt: "Are you telling me you're trying to make an actual Bulletproof Monk?"
Potential: "Well...yeah, I guess so..."
-----
"You got the monk a Dragonball Z t-shirt, didn't you?"
"Heck no! I've got better taste than that...it's Street Fighter!"
-----
"Did you know that you get into a lot of trouble if you use your mom's washing machine to refine uranium?"
-----
"Well, I'd call 'coughing up a lung' a significant side effect!"
-----
Twilight: "You realize you've just turned a supercomputer into the world's most expensive Post-It note."
-----
Twilight: "No, what I summon are damned souls. Just think of it as being like a prison work-release program, but they're not making license plates."
Potential: "That's good; after all, when you put zombies to work making license plates, they all come out reading 'Brainsss...' "

it occurs to me .. that once you've played Hero switching to another game system is a lot like trading a Tardis in a for a '72 Hatchback Pinto.

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
A couple of weeks ago, an NPC mage asked my character (Kessa, the laconic barbarian), outright if she'd sleep with him.
She replied, sighing heavily, "The last time a mage took an Iceraven woman using his magic to aid him was during my tenth summer. I remember that all of the women of my clan hunted him down, staked him to the ground, cut off his hands, and left him to die."
The mage says, "So that's a no?"

Only if you think there is something pertinent in them. Visually pertinent that is. So. Up to you.
Now. Something a little different.
This was sketched from a bust at the Detroit Institute of Arts in probably 20 mins or so... not quite sure... I was having fun and babbling to another artist.
This is Giovanni Bandini Coismo, Grand Duke of Tuscany.
I had never seen this bust before, I go to the DIA probably 10x a year. But they have deep, deep basements and new stuff is always rotating up. I wish I could remember the painting's name that he was near.... for it is an amazing portrait of his wife and child and it is huge! It is always in their permanent collection... oh well.

The other posters were:
Bazza
ghost-angel
death tribble
rpmiller
AliceTheOwl
L. Marcus
Cancer
Vanguard00
all of whom are Ascended. Of course, with 30+ Gods (I stopped counting) who are also the most active posters, it shouldn't really be a surprise that a page in a thread can be all but filled with their posts. But being generally slow on the uptake (Physical Limitation: Can't catch the Clue Bus, All the Time, Fully Impairing), I was caught by surprise.
New topic: umm, I've got nuthin'. Bueller?

Because you posted it? Because you're the first on the page to not be Ascended? Because you're the first to post with that particular title?
I give up.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
YEARS ago, my parents bought me a cedar trunk for my birthday. It was very nicely carved, finished, very smooth and pretty.
One day, there was a mass moving party, to help me and Josh move out of our burned apartment, and help our future roommates get all of their things into the moving van. It involved me, Josh, Ben, Wolf, Ben's parents (Barbara and Jim), Ben's brother Brandon, one of Brandon's friends and, at one point, my sister and some friends of hers.
While Barbara was helping me move the cedar trunk, she remarked, "Nice chest!"
I replied, "Yeah, it is nice. I got it from my parents, for my birthday. It's where I keep my sweaters."

Just use "No Figured Characteristics, -1/2". Otherwise, it's all good.
Pair of Nikes: 6" Flying (Only in contact with a horizontal surface, must make full contact with the surface)
Self-Induced Headache: 20" Leaping (Vertical movement only, only works in low-ceiling hallways)

*backpeddling* Oh you want a fair fight? I'll take the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (60 volumes) with the OED (20 volumes) in reserve. In the interest of fairness, I'll allow you to use the Sefer ha-Zohar as well.
(somehow I think these words will hurt regardless of what the childrens' phrase says. )

Congratulations today to Super Squirrel and Alice the Owl on their anniversary.
Despite the fact that the pair of you conspired to rob me of the election and used the powers of the Moral Majority to do it, I still wish you a happy day.
