    Equipment

When you build yer heroic character - do you buy his equipment with the character points? Or do you purchase them with money? Also with equipment upgrades (such as finding weapons and the like) - do you have to spend character points to 'buy' a new weapon such as a magic/enchanted weapon? Suggestions/Flames?

  4. Re: Compleatly stupid question Thanks gang! How exactly would naked advantages work in a multipower?
  5. ok, I have a brick and I want to give him different types of attacks like an armour piercing att, a shockwave type att, and an att that does massive knock back - would that be a pheasable power framework?? Or would it be better to do them all sepreate?
  6. Re: EMP - Dispell or Suppress Sorry to come off like an idiot - this whole thing is new to me - and I'm tryin' to figure out what to do with a lot of this....so it seems that a Dispel vs Electronic Foci is the way to go linked with an RKA
  7. Re: EMP - Dispell or Suppress Soundsl ike I'll have to make an EMP Arrow, then a Signal Jamming Arrow now! So the the EMP would be Dispel Vs. Electronics or Electrical Focus?
  8. I have an archer character in Champions - and was looking to build him some EMP Arrows ... would those be bought as a dispel or suppress?? The reason I'm confused is that the burst of an emp field would be a dispell vs. electronics.....and a Supress would be a field that would shut down electronics until they left the radius...so I'm largely confused as to how to do it
  9. Re: Disposable Heroes Sweet- I always love input If you wanna get together sometime if you can maybe we can go over the parameters (as this is my first excursion for the Hero System) of the characters and get some of the wrinkles ironed out. The story part isn't gonna be a problem - just the character building and stuff....I'm going for a more Character and Story Driven theme here, don't get me wrong there'll be combat - but the story will centre mostly around the Characters and their dealing with being the Big Fish in the Big Pond
  10. Re: Disposable Heroes kewl - all that what I posted up top look ok to you?? Lemme kno what kinda revisions I might need to make. Thanks man!
  11. Re: Disposable Heroes Fair enuff - what are yer NEEDS?
  12. Re: Disposable Heroes First of all, I would like to have all the participating members of the group there when we build characters Mark - I'm not real sure about the system as a whole so, any help you could give me rollin' up characters would be sweet! Secondly - We'll be playin' in the near-farfuture about 2050 - 2099-ish somewhere in that time frame. I would like to try something new - there are five basic superhero foodgroups: Earthbound Fighter (brick, martial-artist...whatever) Mental Character (Psychic, hyper-intelligence, mystic...) Wraith (flying character) Agility Character (whether it be pure speed, or just flat out agility) Miscellanious Character (this category encompasses ranged fighters and others that don't fit in the upper category.) I would like everyone to try not to overlap too much - as this team will be hand picked. Now you can mix and match your basic archtypes like a flying mental character a super fast misc character blah blah.... You will NOT need to buy Armoured Costumes, Vehicles, or Bases I'm thinkin' that the point totals will be approx: Base: 200 or 175 Disad: 100 Being this is a mid-ground between Heroic and Superheroic We'll call it a Legendary Heroic Setting Legendary Heroic Maxima for the Disposable Heroes Chronicle STR: 25 DEX: 25 CON: 25 BODY: 25 INT: 30 EGO: 30 PRE: 30 COM: 25 PD, ED: 12 SPD: 6 REC: 12 END: 50 STUN: 50 Running: 11" Swimming: 7" Leaping: 9" Standard rules apply: You can buy over that at double cost...most villians will be Legendary Status except for the small handful of Superheroic Sized supervillians that the team was chosen to battle. As well, I would prefer everyone to have a CVK (either 5, 10, or 15 point), also you will recieve the standard 'follows orders' limitation (you are a Gov't or Privately funded agency. My commitment to you is to make this game as enjoying to you as possible. If you'd prefer a little more combat lemme kno, a little more PC/NPC interaction - lemme kno... A few notes which you can base you desicion whether or not you'd like me to run: The first three games, we'll describe our characters (and or different aspects of them) before we get started both in and out of uniform. After the first three games if that's accepted well - I'll thro out a hypothetical question every now and then to assist in character development. That's the things from the Mage Chronicle I'm in right now that I really dig, so I'm gonna use it for this Chronicle Also - once we get everything, characterwise, lined out - I'd like to kno what you'd enjoy seeing in the chronicle, that way I can tailor it to your wants
  13. Re: Conclave: A DC Campaign Hey! now I kno that you want to sway me from the Forensic Occult Specialist- which is kewlz cause that's not the route yer take'n cause yer want'n to make it, basically a team of vigilanties....so here's my newest proposal - Character was a sweeper/cleaner for a local crime boss...he did it all for the money. He got the shaft from one of the boss's Lt's and killed him on the spot. Well that put a sour taste in his boss's mouth who the placed a contract on him. One thing led to another and he was killing these thugs that were come'n after him to kill him - the local cops caught wind of this and dubbed him a Vigilante cause all of his targets were basically criminals...etc etc.. NOw if you'd like I can work out something that's a little darker revolving around hunting the supernatrual - like an older vampire hunter concept I had before.. this work out better for the setting??
  14. Re: Disposable Heroes This has been an idea I've been toying with for quite some time - just don't kno anyone around here that's as into playing superhero games as I am I suppose..::shrugs:: I also have a post called Valiant City defneders or something like that float'n around in here somewhere - it's all about silly superheroes. Anyway - i'm gathering my data as I hope that I can run/play in a game similar to the one I'm posting here
  15. Re: Disposable Heroes Any of that would work - I just used the Govt. cause that's what's come to mind during the inception - hell one could even go as far as the Third Party actually being the person or people responsible for the disappearance of the big-guys the 2nd Stringers are sent out to find - just to keep them off the scent of what have you there... Honestly, it could even be someone with a vested interest of the well being of the city and her respective heroes and set all this up with the group of second stringers to find out what's going on AND to keep the city/world safe... just a thought...
  16. Re: Disposable Heroes I really look at them like Supers that didn't have whatever it took to make them as good as the really powerful ones whether it be experience, lesser powers or what have you... Well, what I have written out if that several of the more successful/powerful second-stringers have caught the eye of the Government at some point or another and they were petitioned and then I'm sure there were a decent number of them that showed up - and a lot of them were 'cut' from the team so to speak...those that made the cutting score were moved on to being accepted into the team or whatever you. Did you have somethign else in mind???
  17. Ok, here's an idea I've been toolin' around with for a supers game: The year 2099, to convey a dark future of costumed heroes and villians where even the heroes can be bad. The main team of supers in the setting has disappeared - and the Gov't has petitioned a handful of supers to come to the call to deal with a threat and find out what happened. The team recieves an HQ, uniforms, vehicles and any special equipment they might need and a government contract. These brave few are the new elite (remember they're all second stringers - imagine like daredevil, iron fist, and several street level heroes take'n on Dr. Doom, Galactus and the like) - they are the heroes of a new age - the Disposable Heroes It's just a work in progress....feedback??
  18. Re: Hero Games Discussion Boards = the new 'give us your tired, your weary, your nonHero' Well - It might not have been a requirement however, it makes me feel better owning it And Eosin - you can take credit if you'd like I'm easy...
  19. Re: Hero 5er! Sorry to disappoint you I was just so excited that I wanted to share....
  20. Good news good news! I've just been handed to me a volumous tome weighing in at 600 pages from me wife! Happy days happy days! No more Sdiekick for me! YAY! I got the real deal - the full fledged rules I'm gonna be busy for a couple days readin' it Now, I have to pick up a few more books, then I'll be a happy camper! Just wanted to share the good news and that I'm officially now a part of the Hero Community/Family
  21. Re: No Dominion - A FH Story Hour btw - I think I sent you those sketches yesterday - and I have assembled a folder of them to bring next game so that you may peruse them
  22. I have been working on, for some time (since Marvel SuperHeroes) on a camapgin setting - City by the name Valiant City...imagine Chamion City meets Blade Runner and there you have it. It's a City rife with crime - it houses all kinds of heroes from Street Level to larger than life Heroes. This is the real reason I got into Hero Games in the begining - the translation in Marvel was greatly limited....and the Mutatns and Mastermind system also limited, was better but I felt far more constrained. Now, I feel thru the power and majesty of the Hero System that my dreams of Valiant City and her champions my see life as they have never before by using the Hero System - so I shall now introduce a a handful of her Champions. ((Disclaimer - Valiant City and her Heroes were largely inspired by The Tick and the Mystermen so, be prepared)) the Weed Whacker - Dark Gadener of Justice, mowing evil down to size. A former weapons developer for the Pentagon who was released after a psychological breakdown and became a Small Engine Repair specialist in Valiant City and after his store being robbed on more than one occasion - he decided to take the law into his own hands. Armed with his supercharged weedeater, throwing trowels, and his determination to uphold justice he hits the streets to proctect the common man! Captain Crowbar - Valiant City's longest running and most powerful hero. Armed with a Crowbar constructed from the metal 'indestructium' absolutely NO barrier can stand in his way! With his skills of deduction and seemingly limitless knowledge of crime and alcohol he defends Valiant City and even the World from the threats of Villiany! Jungle Jim - An Aussie who livesfor the hunt. A man who has hunted almost every living thing imaginable except one - Superheroes, his new target. He works with Johnny Dingo in trying to rid the world of Superheroes. He has been successful in mounting several Super's heads on the walls of his trophy room. And as well has been paid handsomely by his benefactor Johnny Dingo. As soon as I figure out the rules and whatnot - I'll be more than happy to post their character info up here if you'd like
  23. Re: No Dominion - A FH Story Hour I figure that since I'm now a mbr of the group that I should at least post here once Just a brief rundown of my character: Aelfgar, son of Wulfgar -I've been told he's a Vindel (since my character sketch looks like one) Aelfgar is one of the King's Elite Commandoes (akin to Force Recon in the modern age). Thier primary mission is reconnisance however, if met with force and unable to flee - they can and will fight in order to return with the appropriated information. Aelfgar has been assigned to the group because of his knowledge of the area the group must travel into and do a little reconnisance of their own... Anyway, I'l stop rambling on I have atendency to do that... anyhoo...I'll stop now..
  24. Re: Mystic Champions Originally that's what I thought but I kept see'n different sources mentioning superpowers and spells and started to get confused...my bad - forgive my ignorance gentlemen - you guys rock
  25. Re: Mystic Champions So the Mystics 'spells' are nothin' more than regular powers stylized differently then? If that's so then you really wouldn't need to other stuff unless you needed the fluff....or if you were playin' in the champions universe or jsut like to collect the set....
