Pure Fire aka Mary Eve Wyman is a mutant whose powers revolve around emitting a bright white flame that she can adjust not to burn any specific substance she chooses. This is usually human flesh, but has other useful settings. Mary Eve was also a right-wing Evangelical Christian (and in most respects still is) and hung out with a group of other conservative Christian superheroes. Or antiheroes if you don't like their politics/ideology. They clash a lot with more liberal/inclusive hero groups.
Which was all well and good until one day Pure Fire received what she believed to be a revelation from God after prayer and Biblical study. Forbidding the ordination of women was wrong, and women should be allowed to teach men in the church and elsewhere! Used to a free hand in her interviews and appearances, Pure Fire began speaking out about her beliefs.
When the male leadership of her group and the male leadership of her denomination told her to recant, and then be silent, Mary Eve refused. She was labeled as "controversial" and forbidden access to the media outlets she usually appeared on, and finally kicked out of her team (a bad decision on their part, as her unpaid volunteer work had kept them from having to do things like their own laundry or bookkeeping.)
But because Pure Fire remains a right-wing Evangelical Christian (and kinda racist in a means well but is tone-deaf way), no other hero groups want to pick her up. "Cancel Culture" strikes again!

#3 Protagonist: Perfect Kars, the Ultimate Life Form
Back from outer space thanks to a careless Imperial scout, Kars, the last of the Pillar Men, has decided to protect Earth from outside invasion...so that he might rule. The other "good guys" aren't fully trusting him....

Second protagonist: Rohan Kishibe, whose Stand, "Heaven's Door" allows him to read people like a book. Literally. This invasion is getting in the way of him creating manga, so it's got to go.

The Dragon: Paragon
Joel Cochin has the ability to duplicate physical and mental abilities of those around him, at improved proficiency and power levels. This includes Stands. When not near a strategic genius, however, Paragon isn't that good a long-range planner; thus his second-banana position.

Protagonist 1: Jotaro Kujo
The Jojo of the "Stardust Crusaders" arc, and still in his prime. Jotaro is a formidable martial artist (even without Hamon training), a marine biologist, and possesses the Star Platinum Stand, which can among other things stop time. He (with help) defeated DIO, and hopes to stop the alternate universe Dio from accomplishing his own plans.

I'm combining a General pick and an Option Pick.
General: Dio Brando, Lord Joestar
Option: This Dio comes from a timeline very similar to that of the JJBA manga. However, there was a small hiccup that changed everything. In this timeline, Dio found and destroyed the letter from his father Dario that tipped Jonathan Joestar off to the way Dio was poisoning George Joestar. Dio was then able to murder Jonathan and activate the Stone Mask, using his connections to make Jojo's death look accidental. Dio inherited the Joestar title and wealth.
Without Jonathan or Speedwagon to help, Dio was able to dispose of Baron Zepelli and his fellow Hamon practitioners with relative ease. Then he moved forward with a plan to create a small army of vampire and ghoul minions. Lord Joestar took over the British Empire (ala Anno Dracula) and was working on the rest of the world when the Empress' forces arrived.
Being a very fast learner, Dio soon surrendered his section of Earth to the invaders in exchange for being named as local governor. He has of course been scheming to supplant the Empress ever since.
Recently, news came of the discovery of the JJBA earth, so similar to Dio's own. When he learned some (but not all) detail of his counterpart DIO's abilities, Dio knew that he needed his own The World Stand as part of his long range plan to rule the Empire. On Lord Joestar's Earth, the Stand Arrows are either hidden too well, destroyed or never existed; and there are only a handful of natural Stand users. So he will need to invade to get the power he needs.
As a side note, Dio also learned of the Pillar Men. He had the entire buildings they were entombed in on his world shot into deep space. Not that he was afraid of them or anything, just a precaution, can't be too careful.

Well,. yes, she intends to get around to conquering everything, but there has to be some form of prioritization.

Allegiant
Rykka North has the ability to make people loyal to her temporarily. The bad news is that they otherwise retain their own free will and personalities, so tend to do what they think is best for Allegiant, rather than what she wants them to do. She's working on Disguise and Acting skills so that she can appear to be an authority figure as needed for the situation.

Bleak
This suit of armor radiates cold, able to freeze objects solid with a touch (including objects that touch it.) However, it can only be worn by someone of great generosity who uses it for good.

Over at Crunchyroll, they're streaming a show titled "Tiger Mask W." It's set in a world where professional wrestling is 100% real and the evil Global Wrestling Monopoly is trying to take over the Japanese market. It guest stars real world wrestlers; the Bullet Club appeared in the episode "Don't Be a Softy!"

The alien equivalent of drugs that haven't gone through FDA approval processes. Sure, they might enhance muscle growth or cure N'tarrkan Red Plaque, but the side effects haven't been fully tested. Or they might not work at all...on the species they were created for. What, like you're going to call the cops?

I remember many years ago getting involved in a convention Victorian Era Horror game, and picking up the female pregen character because none of the other (all male) players would. Upon actually looking at the sheet, I discovered that she'd randomly been given the highest Strength score in the character group. For the rest of the game, I played her as Lady She-Hulk-very proper and feminine but prone to smashing things with her fists or a jimmy whenever she had the chance. I am told it was pretty hilarious.

A while back I had a notion for a group of pro-capitalist supers. There members included Lassie Fair (a Scotswoman with a claymore and dancing skills), Invisible Hand (invisibility and TK), Rising Tide (hydro-kinesis; he hates being called "Trickle-Down") and Supply Side (can boost his teammates' powers but has no combat ability of his own.)

Have done a bunch more reviews over at my blog, some of which are SF/F.
The most recent such is First Contact by Michael R. Hicks, the first book in the first trilogy of three of the In Her Name series. I'd downloaded it a few years ago as a free sample when thinking of buying a Kindle.
It's pulpy military SF; humanity runs into the Kreelan Empire, who aren't really hostile so much as massively into honorable hand to hand combat. The humans are the first new opponents the Kreelans have had in millenia, and the Empire isn't going to take "we come in peace" as an answer. War ensues.
Most of the characters feel like they came from Central Casting, and the set up is highly dubious, but a fast read.

Deep Six by Clive Barker. Dirk Pitt is first hired to find the cause of a deadly contagion killing all life and then the President and the next three in succession vanish from the Presidential yacht and he is called in to help find them. Throw in Russian mind control, a double cross between the Russians and the kidnappers and the kidnappers trying to kill Mr Pitt.
it ends in a slow chase in the Mississippi delta and an unusual battle ship.
Entertaining.
Umm, you mean Clive Cussler, right? (Though a Dirk Pitt book written by Clive Barker would probably be worth reading.)

Artificial Human Noumu (civilian name irrelevant)
Noumu was once a petty criminal with a minor strength quirk who "volunteered" for upgrade experiments by the Villain Society's secret leader. He was subjected to multiple surgeries and genetic manipulation, as well as having new quirks directly imposed upon him. Noumu was designed specifically to be able to kill All-Might. Had the hero not had an ally with a power not included in the plan, he might well have died. Noumu is currently in custody, but the Villain Alliance has produced less powerful knockoffs.
Noumu fights on instinct, and should have several levels in hand-to-hand combat, but is devoid of other known skills.
Quirks: Noumu has multiple quirks, as well as having his body altered. He is immensely strong, has lightning reflexes, is able to absorb physical impact without harm to a high degree (Non-Resistant Physical Damage Reduction 75%, plus a bunch of PD) and can regenerate much faster than is normally possible (can regrow missing body parts--while you're watching.) To knock him out, All-Might had to Push his STR and use Autofire. However, the process that created him destroyed Noumu's intelligence, leaving him a nearly mindless fighting machine. (Indeed "Noumu" can mean "mindless.") Noumu has been conditioned to obey simple commands from Shigaraki, and to attack All-Might.
Noumu, being nearly mindless, has no visible personality or initiative. When not ordered to fight or in the presence of All-Might, Noumu is docile and easily led or contained.
Distinctive Features: The treatments that gave Noumu his powers warped his body into a form monstrous even by the generous standards of Earth-MHA. See attached.

The Mourners are a group of five individuals who each suffered personal tragedy, and as a result want to inflict pain on others in return. They're not good at teamwork, but misery loves company, and they're determined to create as much company as they can. Each should have powers or a gimmick based on a mourning custom.
