The common responses to fear are fight, flight, or freeze.
Doing any of these three simply because one is afraid might get a good result, but might not, because one has no time to think.
But, much of what we fear is not so immediate.
Choose your response wisely, choose it not because you are afraid, but because it is the best response available to you.
If you fight, find how to fight effectively. If you flee, flee because you must. If you stay, stay because you know it is safe to do so.
Fear gives us impetus to act, but should not inform our actions. It is an engine, not a steering wheel.

Two guys, one old, one young, are pushing their carts around Wal-Mart when they collide.
The old guy says to the young guy, "Sorry about that. I'm looking for my wife, and I guess I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."
The young guy says, "That's OK, it's a coincidence. I'm looking for my wife, too. I can't find her and I'm getting a little desperate."
The old guy says, "Well, maybe I can help you find her. What does she look like?"
The young guy says, "Well, she is 27 yrs. old, tall, with red hair, blue eyes, is buxom, wearing no bra, long legs, and is wearing short shorts. What does your wife look like?'
To which the old guy says, "Doesn't matter, --- let's look for yours."

You know, my biggest concern is that somehow it has become accepted that we should consider all, or oven most, politicians to be venal and/or corrupt. It is a dangerous situation and it means that politicians have very little incentive to strive to be better, noone would believe them.
If all our politicians are venal and/or corrupt then who is to blame? In a democracy the ultimate blame must rest with the electorate, it is they, after all, who elect these venal and corrupt people. The problem is that we cannot be bothered to actually engage with the process, we want a vote or two every five years to be enough. It is not.
I think there is also the problem that we flock to rumour and half-truths about our politicians, holding them to higher standards than we hold ourselves, feeding a scandal hungry media more ready to challenge personal failings than with policy failings.
the biggest problem with an acceptance that all politicians lie is that when one really does simply say whatever is most personally beneficial then there is not the outrage there should be about a politician that blatantly lies to the electorate.
It would behove us all to demand our politicians are truthful, that they are held to account for lying and that we are more circumspect about what we call a lie. We all need to accept that we get the politicians we deserve and that simply sounding off on the internet is not engaging with the political process and does not strengthen democracy...

That's probably a little too strong. The EC is a holdover from when it was "the United States are" and not "the United States is". Once upon a time it made sense for states to vote on the presidency rather than individuals. But that probably hasn't been the case for a century now, which is why I advocate for the abolishment of the EC.

It's probably done to avoid any potential for confusion between a Nerf gun and a real one ... in the event that someone were to paint the Nerf gun black and take it to school.
I also suspect that mechanically the lightweight Nerf darts and/or balls require different mechanisms and approaches to fire them efficiently and effectively ... compared to cartridges that leverage a primer and smokeless powder to expel bullets from a rifled barrel using expanding gasses. After all, it's tough to create a blowback, blow forward, gas operated, or recoil operated Nerf gun when the Nerf darts/balls don't have cases or powder from which create blowback; don't have powder driving bullets to create blow forward; don't entail expanding gasses to allow for direct impingement or piston-driven gas operated systems; and don't create recoil energy, themselves, which can be leveraged for recoil-based autoloading.
Put another way, if the action is used to fire/launch a radically different type of ammunition -- then you should expect the action, itself, to be designed for that difference and, thus, be radically different, itself ... when compared with other actions.

And the people he is wanting to have confirmed for his cabinet are pretty horrible people for the most part. I think Pence picked most of these people since they seem rational but have a core of evil running through them. The only two that actually look Trump picked them are the guy from Goldman Sachs (which owes money to and blasted during his campaign) and the king of bankrupticies.
I can't wait until my obamacare is repealed. I am going to look at my coworker who voted for Trump, and I am going to laugh in his face, and rub it in that he had obamacare too.
The people I know who said Hillary was the bigger evil, I point blank told them that Trump only told the truth 4% of the time. In a hundred word speech, Hello I'm Donald Trump were the only truthful things he said. Benghazi: Cleared ELEVEN TIMES (And the guy on the committee getting the cabinet seat still swears Hillary was such a mastermind that she covered up her involvement, but she can't cover an email server that a private foundation found through FOIAs.) Emails: Nothing on them, nothing but reports coming from her department that never went out from her server (which shows you how stupid the FBI is because they destroyed a diplomat's career because they couldn't figure out part of her job is to talk to foreign nationals. Oopsie.) Clinton Foundation: The guy that was complaining the most was getting chucked out for CoI because he was building his side business while using Bill Clinton as a fundraiser. Foundation paid for Chelsea's wedding, which apparently is not true according to an audit. The list goes on and I have had to show how wrong the people I work with are to their faces. And they are still Trump's better. After that I was like you are the biggest fracking idiots ever.
And I have gotten to rub it in about what they choose, and every time Trump does something stupid, I go you voted for him.
What would really make my day is Trump gets impeached, arrested, and tried over his own Foundation, and the fact he was committing fraud with it. I would laugh my Shadow laugh at my coworkers, and say you voted for him.

I don't know that PC/Anti-PC is the right metric here. Trek, in its various incarnations, has always supported a progressive (or even liberal) social and political stance. Equality, the futility of war*, the elimination of poverty (and, as a corollary, the elimination of materialism altogether) a big protective government that has solved all of humanity's problems--this is the essence of the franchise.
*When you consider that the original series ran at the height of American involvement in Vietnam, the Prime Directive makes perfect sense.

The Lone Ranger Creed
I believe that to have a friend, a man must be one. That all men are created equal and that everyone has within himself the power to make this a better world. That God put the firewood there, but that every man must gather and light it himself. In being prepared physically, mentally, and morally to fight when necessary for that which is right. That a man should make the most of what equipment he has. That “this government, of the people, by the people, and for the people,” shall live always. That men should live by the rule of what is best for the greatest number. That sooner or later…somewhere…somehow…we must settle with the world and make payment for what we have taken. That all things change, but the truth, and the truth alone lives on forever. I believe in my Creator, my country, my fellow man.
