  1. Re: Did anyone ever write-up the DC Impact comic characters? Just a little update from me. Using the "Who's Who in !mpact Comics", I've been tinkering with these characters and this is the best I've come up with so far. Included is the WEB Armor as a prefab package. These will no doubt change as I devote more time and thought to them.
  2. Re: Your "2006" Pet Gaming Projects My goal is to get off my tail and actually finish my 2005 project.
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... A fellow player quipped this one tonight: "With great power comes great collateral damage!"
  4. Re: Did anyone ever write-up the DC Impact comic characters? Okay, here's the first of my write-ups of the Impact Universe "Big Five." BTW, feel free to nit-pick and flame these designs all you like. I'm not the best at character design. (After futzing around a few times, I decided to simply attach the HDC file. I can put up the character as a text block on request)
  5. Re: Did anyone ever write-up the DC Impact comic characters? I knew I should have looked here first. I'm giving this little challenge a try with the meager resources I have on hand (several issues of several !mpact titles and the three Who's Who in Impact Comics I managed to collect). Black Hood is to my liking, WEB armor is nicely statted, next... How the heck do I figure out the Fox's powers?
  6. Re: Anthropomorphic races Just my two cents; If you're not going for very "deep" detail on the various animals, pick one stereotypical thing about the races (reflexes for cats, size for elephants, sneakiness for weasels or rats, etc) and build a Fantasy-style racial package around that. For more detailed "races", I'd reccommend either the After the Bomb rpg or Ironclaw, as they may be easier to get ahold of than most others. Another easy-to-purchase suplement might be Big Ears, Small Mouse for BESM.
  7. Re: Anthropomorphic/Furry HERO Resources I stand corrected, although having scoured my collection I only find one image of Hikiji in battle armor and the armored mask he wears covers most of his face. I'm willing to trust the word of my peers. Also just noticed this passage in the UY RPG: Humans are rare in Usagi's world, and when they appear, they usually aren't very nice. Witness the monsterous Ocho, the mysterious demon piper, and of course the evil Lord Hikiji.
  8. Re: Your "2005" Pet Gaming Projects My on-again/off-again project for the past few years has been trying to write up the characters from Image Comics as 250 to 300 pt. characters. If I get that done to my satisfaction, I might try a campaign in that world because I like the idea of superheroes still having to be somewhat mysterious about their actions, rather than having huge mobs of supers just lying around (e.g. DC & Marvel)
  9. Re: Anthropomorphic/Furry HERO Resources Note -- there are humans in the UY universe. Lord Hijiki is one. Uhm, having been a fan of UY for years, I couldn't let this go. There are no humans in the UY universe. Lord Hikiji is a serpent, IIRC, and the closest you get to humans in UY are the occasional monkey-like characters. Oh, and to be totally geeky: http://www.usagiyojimbo.com/characters/hikiji.html TTFN, heroes Don't forget Space Usagi (check the UY Dojo for info) and 'Big Ears, Small Mouse' for BESM
  10. Re: Starting from 8's in Primary Characteristics Call me arrogant, but I think the main thing is that they lived in those conditions. I agree that their lives were short and any diseases that came their way were very serious, but the ones that lived were in better physical shape than the 'average' person today just by virtue of that hard life. I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything here. I'm just sticking to my opinion.
  11. Re: Starting from 8's in Primary Characteristics Just a little note on the difference between modern and medaevil (sp?) characters: TV's and computers. Most modern folks turn to the TV and/or the internet as entertainment, as well as having sit-down jobs that make absolutely no use of their bodily strength, therefore they get very little exercize unless they commit themselves to it. In olden days, entertainment was limited to live performances or whatever you could think up by yourself (not even a decent RPG game back then). Not to mention that most of the jobs of the day were quite physical and required a mix of patience and concentration that modern people would have a hard time comprehending. I think it's more appropriate to give fantasy and olden-days characters (i.e. any character in a time period before 1900 A.D.) a starting value of 10 in their stats. Just my $0.02.
