Harry can avoid being possessed by Nemesis because he is a Starborn and has power over Outsiders. They cannot control his mind without his consent and his magic and even physical attacks are more effective against them. He can still be killed but he'll die his own man.

The mass extinction thing has the potential to be catastrophic to the environment if it's too sudden. Think of those nuclear power plants, oil refineries and industrial chemical plants that could break down if not for human supervision. Areas around airports and busy freeways are going to take hard hits also. But if we can avoid most of that and keep enough STEM professionals and construction types going, it would give us a long-term benefit at a horrific short-term price.

I had heard of this, but my idea of the problem was off by an order of magnitude. I had thought that the major issue was special grades of sand for computer chips. Knowing that it's for construction, make the problem much more serious. And it's insidiously mundane, who pays attention to sand trucks? And I can easily see a Bond movie based around this. They didn't really play up the water plot in Quantum of Solace.

Your blast can use the Ranged Martial Arts moves right out of the box. I'd just buy the weapon proficiency for it and allow the Hand to Hand moves that apply.

Not so much Social Justice but Wokeness. As an example, inherently evil monster races have been pretty much removed from Pathfinder 2. Especially glaring was the goblins , who were despicable little rapists and torturers, were added as a PC race. You are supposed to believe that X years of lore was accomplished by "bad" goblins but any new PC's and NPC's were good acceptable citizens.

Combat Sense will let you fight them. If you need to search an area of Darkness, you'll need an Unusual Sense that the darkness doesn't cover.

This gets back to something that we've discussed before, a unified standard for the Hero Universe. It would require all official Hero products to be examined and modified by a common editorial standard. There can and will be variation but there would need to be a consensus on levels of play like High and Low Fantasy, Heroic Adventuring (Westerns, Espionage, Black Ops, etc.), Beginning, Standard, High Power and Galactic Supers/ Magic campaigns and the spectrum of Martial Arts. And these editors would need real control over the ranges of what is allowed to be labelled as each. Not a change of the game per se but a change in editorial direction. You can still have Dr. Destroyer and the Geodesics in the same universe, but they would not appear in the same product.

If you truly must build it, then use LS-Cold with Focus, Doesn't work if soaking wet. It's either a major plot point or a trivial add in a story.

So have the two villains come to Earth in a loose alliance and let one of the NPC cops be after both of them. They could normally handle them individually but need help against both. or beef up one of the villains with the adventure's plot hook and have the detective and cyborg/spaceship be partners tracking them down.

It'll work just fine. Once you finish character creation, the only time it will come into play is a handful of Adjustment Power situations. Because there are price changes involved, you'll basically have 5th Edition results when affecting some Characteristics. You'll have to decide which edition's rules you use for Negative Characteristics also.

Hadn't noticed the Trigger requirement before and have been building it without it. Hero Designer doesn't flag it, but I suppose that's beyond the scope of the program's checks. The issue of not being able to Aid more than was Drained was just assumed as part of the Linked.

As Chris wrote, by RAW the Powers do not interact. Shape Shift doesn't really have a mechanic that negates it per se. Even if you see through a Shape shift used as a disguise, you don't see the true form of the user, you just know something's wrong. The Shape Shift would need to be Limited in some form to permit anything else.

A strong case can be made that by approving Homecoming, NCSoft has given approval to all. All of the private servers going sprang from the same code leak, though each has been developed in its own direction since. Also, NCSoft may not want the ill feelings that would come from shutting down all these servers. Shutdown caused them to lose most of their North American market. If they want to reenter at some point, they need to start building some goodwill.

City of Heroes has been back for 4 years. I've been playing on Rebirth since May of 2019. I played there before moving to Rebirth. While they have official permission, no private server has been threatened with shutdown since 2019 when the news spread of them. Homecoming has made a lot of changes from the original game to make it easier as a single player game. Advancement is faster and end game rewards are easier to obtain. It has a new AT, the Sentinel. Rebirth's philosophy was to advance the game as the original devs planned. It feels closer to the original game than any other server, but it has made some changes. -There is a AT, the Guardian. -There are nearly 1000 new costume options with more coming soon. -The alignment system has been streamlined for faster switching. Look me up if you want to return. I have 3 accounts: @Scatterstar, @Trigger Happy and @Control Rod. Peak times are 6 - 12 PM CST but you can usually find other players. I know several Russians and Kiwis who play in the wee hours of North America.

Well, my last campaign was one with all natural powers so this or a similar construct was common. Regeneration (1 BODY per 6 Hours) (6 Active Points); Limited Power- No strenuous activity while healing Power loses about half of its effectiveness (-1) 3 Real points. Most supers with this would be good to go from most battles in a day or two, one week max for really serious injuries.

That's not what I said but I'll clarify. If that average man runs off an edge without Leaping, he's still moving at 12m, but he falls 9.8m in that same time. His innate Leaping counters some of that fall distance but he's not going to travel 12m and remain at the same altitude. So, everything depends on how far away the safe landing area is. Assuming, equal heights, if it's less than his Leaping, he's fine. One or two meters more is going to require a DEX roll to grab on and anything more than that is going to be a Wile E Coyote type wall splat and ensuing fall unless the gap is so far across that he hits the ground first. Go rewatch Winter Soldier. Cap and Bucky aren't using Leaping alone to make those jumps in the rooftop chase. They're using their running to cross the distance and Leaping/Breakfall to not be prone on landing. If Spiderman were there, he makes it with just Leaping.
